This charming oceanfront cottage offers plenty of privacy with 2 separate entrances (no interior access), 2 full kitchen and living areas and charming, traditional coastal decor that is sure to please. Resting among the dunes, this home offers picture perfect views from it's covered porches and open sun beach front deck. Enjoy outdoor beach living as you relax and entertain in the front porch rockers, rinse off in the outside shower and cook up a great meal on the Gas Grill. Spend your time on the beach....shelling, sunning, surfing, fishing or just plain relaxing! When it's time to come inside, on the upper main level you'll find a bright and open kitchen & living area overlooking the Atlantic. 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths are located on this level. On the lower level you will find a nice living area with views of the dunes, 2 additional bedrooms, one with a full private bath, shared hall bath and a full size laundry room. This peaceful home located on the West End of the island is the perfect spot for your next beach front getaway! Please note there is no formal dining area in this home but plenty of counter seating for meals.

This was a great location. The house fit all of our needs! The check in process was easy. We do a lot of cooking since we are a large group and found everything we needed in the kitchen. We did bring our own Spices and were glad we did. There are plenty of bathrooms up and down. The back deck was my favorite feature it had plenty of chairs and the picnic table was great too. Our family definitely wants to stay there again next year. Holden is one of our favorite places to go.

Back porch was great. Not many outlets. Shared bathrooms were difficult at times. Beach availability was awesome washer and dryer were outside of house

New upholstered furniture is needed

The upholstered furniture needs replacing. Not comfortable at all. The reclining portions of the sectional in the main room did not work. This was one of the reasons i rented this house was because of the reclining aspects of the sectional that i could see from the photos on line.

Not what was expected

Very, Very small bathrooms upstairs. No room to set anything. so you had to hold toothbrush if you were going to wash your face. No dining room table so family could eat together. Had 2 coffeemakers, one did not work the other one you had to prop up pot with a spoon so it would drain and still coffee grounds found at bottom of each cup. Both stoves were filthy but we only used the one upstairs, where the adults stayed. We called twice about problems but nothings done and no one called us back about issues we called about. It was right on the beach and the porch was fairly nice but only had 4 chairs that you could sit at to enjoy watch the ocean, which was nice. We will never go back and will not tell anyone to go there either

Great Ocean Access

Loved the private walkway to the beach. Also loved that this section of the beach was not crowded at all. Beautiful view. Was somewhat disappointed in the house for the price paid. Sofa in upstairs needs replacing due to both recliners on each end broken and were duct taped. We did call for service on ac as it was 78 degrees. They did respond quickly and said everything was ok. The temperature for the first three days never got below 75 so we decided to close the curtains to the deck and that night it cooled to 73. Even though there were some negative things the beach access, uncrowded area and view made up for it.

Great stay at Holden

As always, Holden beach did not disappoint! The area is great, especially for those who just want to relax and enjoy the beach. We could never find how to turn on the large overhead light in the den area, but otherwise everything was good with the home.

Wonderful time

House was very clean and spacious however, the online listing didn't mention where the laundry room was which we had a hard time finding and didn't mention gas grill and when we called to find out the lady stated charcoal.

Worth every penny!!

Lots of little things wrong with the property...only one seriousā€”nail sticking up on floor transition strip between kitchen and living room which tore a hole in the bottom of a foot (fortunately an adultā€™s and not a childā€™s). For the price it was perfect! We would love to come back and rent it again...will just bring tools to do repairs next time.

Didnt realize there was no table to eat as a family so as we squished around the counter. Those of us who has to sit on the cabinet side had our knees inside the cabinets since the lower cabinets had no doors. The bathroon that I shared was not clean and I took photos of the toilet that I had to clean before using it. The rest of the upstairs could have been cleaner. I would have liked the downstairs to have inside access to the upstairs. I thought the downstairs was nicer and kept better than the upstairs. BUT the location was wonderful. Loved sitting on the front deck enjoying the wildlife at the marsh across the street. The back deck could use more tables but we improvised with our coolers. Being oceanfront with perfect weather made up for its shortcomings and we all had a wonderful time.

Close to beach

We really enjoyed our stay. The beach is only steps away. It was great for us because the age range in our family was 6 months to 92 years and the separate living spaces gave plenty us plenty of room. The porch is large with plenty of chairs. We had a few minor problems which were taken care of promptly. We loved it and would be happy to stay again.

Great location, Right on the beach. But the upstairs bathrooms need remodelling' too small.

The upstairs bathrooms need to be remodelled; too small for sharing with two rooms! The lighting in the kitchen was inadequate for preparing food. Several Lights and light fixtures lacked the proper wattage bulbs or the bulbs were blown. A defined dining area with a table (we brought our own folding table) would be good in sharing meals. Need maintenance on pest control (too many palmetto bugs in the house!) All entrance doors were difficult to open/close. Bathroom tub needs to be cleaned; too much mildew in caulked areas and the shower doors and track need major cleaning!!! Upstairs bathrooms should look like the downstairs bathrooms! If you are going to rent this house, renters need to be assured that all maintenance is up to date and operational. It is difficult to see details of the house in on-line pictures!

Location and spaciousness were AMAZING!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at White Eagle! It is so close to the beach that from the Oceanside bedrooms, you almost feel like youā€™re SLEEPING on it! Great porch and deck, beautiful separate downstairs level that provided a very useful second fridge and a space for the late-night folks to not disturb the early-to-bed people, A/C worked great, comfortable beds, large open floor plan, lots of room for our group of 10!! Just a couple of issues that were likely related to the hurricane we came in right after: WiFi was ok but a little unreliable, cable wasnā€™t working but we used the Apple TV we had brought, hot water heater went out on Day Two but the owners quickly had it replaced with a new one within hours... unfortunately we discovered later that day that it wasnā€™t heating and there was a breaker issue. By then it was Saturday night and electrician couldnā€™t come out til Monday morning. Fortunately it was so hot outside that the water for showers wasnā€™t COLD cold, and a cool shower after a day on the beach wasnā€™t the end of the world. (Again, we arrived a day after Holden had reopened from Hurricane Florence and were just grateful that our vacation had been salvaged. Amid all the flooding we saw on the drive down, a lack of cable and two days of no hot water seemed like nothing to complain about). Next time Iā€™d probably bring my own sheets, as the ones provided were a little scratchy. The house itself is GREAT and we have already planned a return to it in the spring. Probably the best house overall that we have ever rented, as I feel certain the technical issues were storm after-effects and therefore temporary. The perfect setting for memories made!!
