Suite Charmaine (pronounced Shar-Mane) is on the right portion (east side), offering plenty of room to spread out with approximately 1500 square feet divided between two floors. Relax in the living room alongside flickering flames in the gas fireplace or enjoy a movie on the wall mounted 42” flat screen TV with cable. The suite's kitchenette offers a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker with just enough space for preparing simple meals or snacks. The master suite is also on the main level, offering a king bed and en suite bathroom with an oversized shower for two. Upstairs you will find the second bathroom (with tiled shower), as well as two additional bedrooms, both boasting spacious king beds. This is a duplex
(PLEASE NOTE: the stairs are original and are very steep, retaining the home's historic authenticity. Guests with mobility issues should not reserve Suite Charmaine.)

***** Rates for this property are based on double occupancy, additional persons beyond 2 will be charged $35 per person per night

- Quiet Time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, per City Ordinance
- If we are called due to complaints violating Quiet Time:
1st Offense will result in a $250 fine.
2nd Offense will result in a $500 fine.
If police are called, you are responsible for any fines or fees issued with the citation or warning. If police are called there will be a $500 fine, even if no citation is issued.

Charmaine Stay

Hello! We enjoyed our stay but feel you should know that both showers drain extremely slow and fill up shortly after turning the water on. A plumber should be called to inspect further. The front door is missing a piece on the inside door frame by the dead bolt making it appear someone could easily break in or possible has tried to in the past. This should be addressed as well. Otherwise, the place is nicely decorated and conveniently located.

We loved the location and all of the extra niceties the owners have put into the property. It is a great location, on a quiet street but very close to all of the shopping and restaurants!

Charming and adorable!!

This property has all you need for a weekend wine country get away. It was very clean, all the amenities were as described. We enjoyed the pavilion and hot tub in the evenings with a glass of wine!! We will be booking this property again!

Girls trip

We loved the house it was absolutely charming and had everything we needed. It would have been nice to have a working fan in the other upstairs bedroom to help drown outside noises. Overall we had a great stay! Would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Easy booking, flawless check in and beautiful home! It is small with steep stairs so I would not recommend for children. But for a couples or girls trip… it’s perfect!!

This is a beautiful property. I selected this property because it had a fireplace and a hot tub. The hot tub worked and was enjoyed. The gas fireplace was broken and even though maintenance came out, they did not fix it. This was very disappointing. Overall, it was a good experience.

There was no oven and a dorm/bedroom type refrigerator only. The upstairs bedrooms ceilings are very low and hard for people to move around. We didn't get a response with the wifi password until late the last night. There is a well in back with no covering

Cute place, close to town!

Check in and check out was so easy. Know that there is not a full kitchen. (That means a mini fridge and a microwave.) The stairs ARE steep so anyone with difficulties moving or climbing stairs (or a ladder) should stay on the bottom level. Beds were very comfortable! Overall, loved this property.

Very Good

We had a lovely time at the Bijous Suite Charmaine, the only problem was the tv would not change channels of update, bought new batteries for the remote but still didn't work. We only tried it on Sunday, everything else was great!

Charming, but take a closer look before you book.

Our stay at Absolute Charm was nice, but not quite what we expected. We are a group of four women that traveled to Fredericksburg for a short wine tasting trip. This home is quaint, historical and charming. However, once we arrived we were a little disappointed. We felt that the photos online were slightly misleading, making the home look bigger and leaving out important things. Things we liked: The hot tub and outdoor area were great, we used it both nights. The living room is comfortable with great furniture. Excellent location and easy to walk to places downtown. Things we did not like: The upstairs area photographs were definitely misleading. One room upstairs has a door next to the bed that leads to an exterior set of stairs. This was not photographed. There is no shade on the large window on the door or on the large window that sits at the head of the bed. We did not like this because access to the outdoor ground floor, the ability for people to see directly into the bedroom from multiple points and the amount of light that shines in. The window and door with no shades were so bothersome that we did not use that room and decided to share a bed instead. The second bedroom area also had a large window with no shade. The bathroom upstairs has an incredibly small shower that does not drain and has no shelving at all to place shampoo/soap on. The images online make the downstairs kitchen look significantly larger. Anyone who books this home should understand this is a small Kitchenette. There is a microwave, mini fridge and a single cup coffee maker. There were not even knives stocked. Do not plan on cooking anything here except for a microwave meal. Not all of the amenities function well. The TV has no directions and the batteries were dead in the remote. We were unable to use the TV. The fireplace has directions but we could not get it to work. Overall, very charming and historical home. However, it is important to keep the positives and negatives in mind before booking.

Cute place but not for families

Stayed with family. Upstairs bedrooms have windows/exterior glass door with no window coverings or curtains. One room went unused bc of that. The kitchen is a mini fridge and microwave. Don’t plan on doing any cooking there. The tv remotes something about it didn’t work. I would suggest the owner synch the remotes correctly and leave a page for how to use the tv. Upstairs shower is small with no where to place your shower items except the floor which is a super slow draining shower so standing water. The upstairs bathroom has a pedastool sink and no where to place toiletries. The beds and furniture are super cozy. Plenty of linens provided. Great location. Outdoor space is really beautiful. A great place to stay for a short weekend of eating out/shopping. No cooking and no tv/movies for our stay. I traveled with my family- kids included. We were looking fwd to grilling out and making memories in the kitchen watching movies and spreading out. But like I said one room was not used bc the exterior glass door had no window covering and cooking didn’t work out for us. Great place for a quick weekend of no kids and cooking which did not work for us this time around.

Great location, cute place but some issues

Cute place, hot tub and fire pit was really nice, hot tub was private. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the fireplace to work, and the master shower ran ice cold. I attempted to reach out to the owners prior to check in but never heard back so that was disappointing. Also, there were trump stamps in various locations, not sure if that was the owners or previous stays. Overall cute place, very steep stairs and low hanging ceiling to one of two bedrooms upstairs, and beautifully decorated.

Cozy and spacious.

This house was amazing it how quiet it was, being only one block of the main drag. Don't attempt the stairs after too many drinks they are a dizzy! The downstairs bathroom could use more hooks for towels. This was a charming property to rent for a girls weekend! Will be back.

Had a girls' weekend with friends. The location was very close to main street, so we could walk everywhere. Also great neighborhood to go jogging & to just sit on the porch on a rocking chair & drink coffee in the morning!

Friends Trip

Overall great location. The stairs in the house we’re very difficult to climb. The upstairs portion was not very cool. There is only a small refrigerator and no oven. It’s a nice place but not exactly what I was expecting.
