Across the street from the beach, this 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment is located on Ashford Avenue, the heart of San Juan's tourist area. It comfortably sleeps two and has a full size, convertible sofa-bed in the living area for a third guest. Experience different types of water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkeling) and be surrounded by major hotels, casinos, parks, night life, restaurants and hi-end boutiques. The condo is fully furnished, it has AC, ceiling fans, WiFi, and Cable TV. There is a flat screen TV, a full, well equipped kitchen and a newly renovated bathroom. There is a communal pool and coin-op laundry facilities.

The condo was spotlessly clean, and bigger than I expected: the living room and bedroom are separate with a door between them. The bed was comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water. There are ceiling fans in both rooms. The building is perfectly located (I was attending a conference at a nearby resort hotel), safe, and friendly. Edward went above and beyond for me when I lost my key at a nail salon - he called them and left a message in Spanish (which I don't speak) and then conveyed their response to me, so I could get the key back. He was also very accommodating about letting me drop my luggage off early when I arrived, and retrieve it after checkout when I left.

Cant beat the location!

The owner was incredibly sweet and responsive, helped with minor hiccups and gave good suggestions. The apartment is ideally located, wonderful neighborhood and a block from the beach! Highly recommend!

30th B-day getaway

We absolutely loved our time spent at this place! The condo had just enough space and amenities for the 2 of us. The location was great as it was only about a 10 minute Uber ride to Old San Juan and a number of other beaches. Condado beach was also only a 3 minute walk. The nearby CVS and Walgreens had everything youā€™d need in a pinch in case you forgot to pack or wanted anything extra for the beach. Ed was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions about the property/area and offered helpful tips! 5 stars from us, would definitely stay again!

Great location, roomy for building

We have stayed in different apartments in The Diplomat for the past three summers. It's a great location--a block from the beach, block from Walgreens and CVS, a few blocks to great restaurants (Ropa Vieja, Oceano, Cocina Abierta) and to the lagoon, where you an paddle board and put your kids into camp for the day. It's not the fanciest building, but a great bargain when we want to spend a month there. Gloria's apartment was the best one we've stayed in--it's bigger than the others, quiet (it's not facing the main avenue), and has a dining table and a balcony that overlooks the city.

Location

In the heart of Condado Beach, a block away from the sand and near excellent restaurants and the night life of PR. The plusses were excellent communication from Gloria and Ed, a comfortable place to stay that was quiet because it didn't face the hustle and bustle of Ashford, and excellent location to amenities. You can walk to Old San Juan if you're able to take an 8 mile round trip hike, or take one of the many electric scooters. The downsides were a convoluted process to get the entry key especially if you arrive late at night and expensive or limited free parking nearby (5 block walk to Luchetti St) if you rent a car.

Great location.

It was good overall. We had been there before so we knew it was a good location. The apartment as well equipped. The check-in process was a little bit awkward and at one point we had the wrong key to the front door. The building is very secure .One afternoon during a strong rain storm, water came in through the windows, and we had to mop it up. We are not sure exactly where the leak came from. Overall, we were happy with the experience.

Cancellation

Not a great experience as we had to cancel our trip at last minute due to our 7month old getting extremely ill and when we reached out to the property manager we got no reply. Have never experienced this before and hope that it was a simple oversight but still not happy with the no communication when it came time to cancel

The Good, Bad & Ugly

Good: comfortable bed, air conditioner and location. Bad: convoluted check in procedure, only 1 entry key, no on site parking although listing states thereā€™s on site parking, no pool as it was under repair yet not reflected in the listing, non functional microwave (as previous guest noted) until I pressed to get a new microwave which I picked up from a local store, no proper kitchen knife to prep food, fridge/freezer had frost build up inside, no live cable TV or phone as advertised. Ugly: inconsistent & occasionally no response from owner re our concerns, paint peeling on kitchen cupboards, pooling water on balcony, flooding in bedroom (reported by past renters in May/23) after rainstorm, owner instructions to not flush toilet paper?! Synopsis: know that what you are renting is not as fully advertised. Friends were renting in the same building yet their unit was fully renovated & cost less than what we paid.

Our 11yrs anniversary (9 day stay)

When we arrived, the condo was nice but smaller then we thought. The only tv is in the living room and the remotes didn't work. I contacted the host but didn't get any help. So we had to buy batteries with our own money. We realized there was only 3 towels and no face cloths and the host said they dont provide face cloths. It wasn't listed in the post. We had to buy our own. The refrigerator is small (shorter than 5ft and very small freezer with frost taken most of the space) and the microwave broke and was never repaired. At this point, the host wasn't replying anymore. There was no oven so we had to reheat our food the best we could on the stove top. We spent some days in the condo with ac on and the balcony flooded from the ac unit. There was sand on the sofa and in the bed when we arrived. Which meant the place was not clean properly. There was no hot tub and the pool was filthy during our entire trip. The host offered to send us to another pool close to the end of our trip but we were over it by then. The good thing about the condo is it is in a good location but noisy due to construction and the street life. There are plenty of restaurants near by and the beach was really close. We didn't rent a car so we used uber. The rides were $4 to $7 dollars each. Way cheaper than renting a car. I would book again but bring my own lining, and be prepared to mop the flooded .porch everyday (2x a day). I have pictures

Communication with owner was excellent and timely. Highly recommend area located in the heart of the tourist district. Walking distance to Starbucks, walgreens, casinos and restaurants.

Adecuado para estar de vacaciones y tambien para visita de trabajo. Situado en un lugar centrico.

El apartamento tiene una buena distribuciĆ³n de los espacios de salon, comedor,cocina y baƱo. Tiene todo los utensilios que se pueda necesitar, tanto en cocina como en baƱo. El salon comedor es comodo. El baƱo es bien espacioso para el espacio disponible. La cocina esta bien equipada (copas y vasos de cristal , platode varios tamaƱos y toda clase de utensilios de cocina aparte de una excelente cafetera) y la habitaciĆ³n tiene una cama confortable y multitud de espacio en armario y un gran nĆŗmero de cajores en los muebles auxiliares. Los aparatoros de aire acondicionado y los ventiladores funcionan perfectamente. La propietaria y el responsable del apartamento responden rĆ”pido las consultas y el trato ha sido muy cordial.

This property is our second home. We bought it as a way to stay in touch with Puerto Rico and our family in the Island. We love to visit, enjoy the area and feel privilege to share it with guests.

We fell in love with the place because of its unique location and proximity to the beach. Condado is a walking community with great nightlife, restaurants, parks, hi-end shopping, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, hospital. It is safe and open for business day and night.
