Lovely apartment in a prime location
The Location - This modern apartment is located in 'The Shoal', one street back from popular Shoal Bay Beach and to many cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. Shoal Bay beach is a lovely pristine beach good for swimming and you can hire Kayaks and paddle boards in the high season school holidays and at Easter. There are many cycle tracks leading to either Nelson Bay (3km's away) and to Fingal Bay (4km's away) Bike hire is available in Shoal Bay. There are also a selection of beautiful walking tracks in the Tomaree National Park and to the summit of Tomaree Mountain which offers spectacular views over Port Stephens and the Bay.
The Apartment - A contemporary two bedroom apartment. Beautifully furnished and styled throughout, this split air conditioned apartment offers wifi, a large flat screen TV, a dining area and a fully equipped sophisticated kitchen with a full fridge/freezer, oven, Nespresso coffee pod machine (pods not included), microwave and dishwasher. The balcony area shows off the water views of nearest Shoal Bay beach alongside beautifully styled furniture. The two inviting bedrooms both encompass king size beds making it a stay for four. The two bathrooms have a shower, vanity and toilet. Internal laundry with washing machine and dryer. Other features include unlimited wifi, lift access and undercover secure parking for one car.
Linen and bed makes are included.
Please note that there are security cameras installed in the common areas of The Shoal. There are no cameras in individual apartments. “Jetskis, Boats or Trailers are NOT permitted in the carpark”

Great location, pity about aspects of the property
On arrival, property was dirty (sand and dirt on floor, hair in the bathroom, dishes in dishwasher and remains of iceblock in freezer). As it was Sunday afternoon (late), we decided to clean the property ourselves as it was unlikely that anyone would turn up till Monday morning to clean properly.
Apartment itself is in a good position with water views.
While the apartment is non-smoking, opening the balcony door lets in the smoke from the other apartments as well as the smokers who tend to congregate on the street below.
There is an adequate supply of crockery and cutlery as well as cooking pots and pans if you want to cook in, but you would miss out on the great eateries within Shoal Bay and beyond. It would have been nice if the apartment had a hairdryer.

Cleanliness was the only issue .
The apartment floor was full of sand throughout. Balcony was really dirty. Rubbish bin was not cleared in ensuite bathroom eventhough we were told to take rubbish. We cleaned the floor and emptied the bin ourselves. We had sea view but just slightly..The location was not great but ok Overall neat apartment with nice mordern furnishings and included all needed.. I would say nice. But not clean

The property manager was very unhelpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

After driving 500km over 7 hours we picked up our keys at 6pm and proceeded to apartment. Upon arrival we found that there were no towels or linen or welcome pack!!! Beds were bare (mattress protector and pillows only! not even pillow slips!!! It stated all linen supplied and beds would be made. My wife rang the after hours number several times but it said could not be connected!!! (phone turned off) After a shower using our wet and sandy beach towels we went for a very uncomfortable nights sleep!!!. Next morning we went to the agent (Winnings Nelson Bay) to express our dissatisfaction with the previous night!!! The staff member Karen was extremely rude and insisted my wife had rang the wrong number the previous night as she was on after hours duty with phone!! My wife did not ring the incorrect number as she showed me her phone log. After asking if we would receive a free night or discount she was very annoyed (I was paying $500 a night for this apartment). She said the cleaner would be there ASAP with towels and make the beds. By 11am no one had showed up so rang back! The girl (Jopti) said she would send the cleaner ASAP so we went to the beach for a swim. Upon our return at 1.35pm we found a laundry back placed at our door with lien and towels but beds still not made!!! Rang again 1.45pm and the girl (Leve) said she will ring cleaner and ring me back which she did and said Shaun the cleaner is on his way. Shaun was great and very apologetic and said he left the laundry bag at front door in case we needed towels as he did not have a key to the apartment???.Karen needs to learn some manners and people skills from Shaun the cleaner as he was great!!! Also was sand on dining table and front terrace was filthy and not clean upon arrival. Front terrace fly screen door kept coming off! But a great apartment in a good location but staff could be more cooperative

Lovely apartment close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The apartment is modern and clean with nice furnishings. Our family had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. If you like going for bike rides you can even hire some bikes just around the corner.

A modern apartment with a view of the water. We stayed with our 2 kids and was very spacious and kid friendly. It had great secure parking and lift access plus walking distance to shops and beach. There was only minimal washing detergent, soaps etc (enough for a weekend stay only) Overall we would stay again.
