Welcome to Nature's Cottage Washago. This beautiful waterfront property is a one of a kind.

Spend time with family or friends in this beautiful spacious 2,400 sq ft cottage with 100 feet of Waterfront located minutes from the Beautiful Muskoka's on The Green River. Enjoy amazing fishing on the dock in the backyard and catch fish that are coming in from Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. Or do all of the above while "working from home" by accessing our reliable High Speed internet so you can work during the day and enjoy the beautiful trails, hiking and everything else Washago has to offer. Why work from home when you can work from "Nature's Cottage"?

Beautiful firepit in back yard 15 feet from the water. Relax after a day in the sun. Sit around a beautiful campfire and enjoy the sounds of Nature.

55" Smart TV also available if if you want a break from Nature. Access your Netflix account or Disney Plus as well as other free channels available on the Smart TV.

Bedroom 1 - Upstairs ensuite with King Size bed, full bath, walkout balcony with seats to overlook the water from the second you wake up.

Guests will have full and exclusive use of the entire main home as well as the front and backyard as well as own PRIVATE ACCESS to the stunning waterfront property on Green River.

Perfect cottage trip

We loved our stay. Beautiful, big and clean. Lots to see in the area. Went to some waterfalls nearby. The house has pretty much everything you can think of. The backyard is definitely the main attraction. Great hot tub and kayak.

Great property!

There were 6 of us for a cozy cottage stay. We experienced a full sunny day perfect for swimming and some rainy ones perfect for fires and hot tubs. Kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. We'd happily be back again!

Beautiful property on the river!

Plenty of space inside and out. Nice screened in porch to escape mosquitoes in the even. We used the tandem kayak to paddle up the river. Good sized dock and a fit pit near the beach, both with lots of seating. Peaceful location. A turtle came up and lay eggs in the beach one morning! Would visit again.

Great weekend away

The cottage was perfect, big and comfy enough for all 6 of us and two dogs. The property was great, and if we had better weather we would've enjoyed it way more. We'd love to come back again

We, along with our visitors from the UK, had a truly wonderful time at this beautiful riverfront cottage. Nestled among tall trees, the property offers plenty of shade—even on the hottest summer days—and the calm, peaceful river made for an incredibly relaxing setting. Our days were spent either unwinding in the screened-in area, lounging on the dock, or enjoying the water with the canoe and paddleboards. Inside, the cottage is thoughtfully laid out and spacious, allowing everyone to enjoy their own quiet time when needed.While we mostly stayed in to soak up the tranquility, we did went out one evening for dinner at the Silver Birch restaurant—which we highly recommend!George, thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us. It was the perfect retreat, and we really appreciated every moment spent here with our friends and family.

Nature’s Cottage is an A++

George was very good at quickly answering any questions we had before and during our stay. Property is spacious and provides a quiet, tranquil getaway with access to canoes and kayaks, or Muskoka chairs on the dock if you want to enjoy nature.

Great way to spend a week with our family

Really nice venue. Clean and spacious which was required for our adult children and spouses . Spent a lot of time on the dock which is fabulous. Great property We we’re really happy with our choice for this cottage.

Great family spou

Okay but could use some work

1st off Host was very responsive and great at returning calls. House could use some work. Paint peeling, washing machine needs a good cleaning and finishings need work. Hot Tub was clean. Could really use new bedding, more pillows and more towels. On the whole it had a great yard on the river and it had tons of room for 4 adults and 2 young kids.

Loved everthing about this property. Sitting on the dock with my first coffee of the day waiting for the resident muskrat to swim by; doing morning qi gong in full view of the brilliant fall colours; canoeing down the river to the old mill and dam; bundling up with a glass of wine on the deck; enjoying our evening meal by candlelight in the screened in porch........

Perfect getaway

This was such a great place for a mini family getaway! I am originally from the area (but live in the US now) and I rent a cottage on the water every summer so I can visit friends and family. This cottage was by far the best one yet! The layout, the amenities, the river, the hot tub, the communication with the property manager…. Everything was excellent! I will definitely be back next summer.

Exceeds Expectations

This property was awesome in every way! It was so nice we didn't want to leave for the ski lodge. The swans, ducks, and geese were an added bonus. George, the property owner/manager was very accomodating and you could tell he sincerely wanted us to enjoy our stay. He was very responsive and the home is equipped with everything one needs. As first time cottage renters, this was a great experience and would definitely love to return to Nature’s Cottage! The pictures did not lie; what we saw in the advertisement is what we got. Really loved how clean the place was - that was very important for us. Don’t really have anything negative to say (except that we wish we would have booked during the warmer weather) … Everything was great - from reserving to check in to check out. Special shout out to the responsive host!

If you like the photos, just wait until you see the place in person!

George is a fantastic host! Great communication, everything we needed was easily found or stocked. He was in touch with us as needed and everything went exceptionally smooth. We've never used a service like VRBO before and we didn't know what to expect in general. The whole experience was truly great! For once in our life the pictures didn't do the cottage justice! Once you arrive here you'll be more than impressed, as the cottage is far better than the pictures represent! We anticipated a lovely place based on the photos, but we were MORE than surprised!

Best cottage vacation

This cottage check off all the things for a fun filled little vacation. We went friends and young kids. The location is less than 2 hours from Toronto. George was a great host. Always replied instantly. Accommodated a few of our requests which made our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage itself was clean and in line with the pictures. Everyone just stayed outdoors in the backyard, on the deck, at the beachy area (this is pretty much the only cottage that had sand where you could just walk off into the water), having fun with canoes and kayaks (all provided) and the large gazebo on the deck. We did not feel the need to explore any surrounding trails, parks etc. The cottage has everything that you need including large driveway/parking, living room, dining room, bed rooms, mud room, accessible garage, backyard, firepit, lower deck with gas drill, upper deck with gazebo, beach, deck, canoes (life jackets). It was a perfect cottage vacation. Will definitely return and highly likely go to other locations with George.

Great property but…

3/5 stars. The property and river front is absolutely gorgeous with fun water activities (kayak, canoe, paddle boats, tanning deck, fire pit). The water was great for swimming and there were shockingly no bugs at night. Inside the cottage was also decently equipped and didn’t run into any issues beside bad water drainage in the shower and sinks. Unfortunately though, the owner has noise detectors (‘minut’) inside and outside the home so any sound detection above a certain decibel will trigger the sound detector and send you harassing/threatening text messages, emails, VRBO notifications and calls. The neighbours were constantly complaining to the owner about any noise, even starting the complaints before 9pm…however noting that the bylaw dictates no noise only after 11pm. Unfortunately these constant calls, text, emails, calls and VRBO notifications put a bit of a damper on the evening mood since I felt like I couldn’t even have a loud and engaging conversation without setting off the device and getting threatened to have OPP raid the cottage for chatting with my family. *I don’t suggest booking this cottage if you have loud kids or enjoy music or are a loud talker*

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the beautiful aspects of the property. I’d like to clarify that there are no noise detectors inside the house. As noted in the listing, I have outdoor noise monitor to ensure that all guests respect the peaceful surroundings and our neighbors. Throughout the year, the decibel levels have not exceeded 70db, as most guests are mindful of noise. During your stay, the noise levels reached 83db on multiple occasions. I did contact you the first night, and I appreciated that you were respectful and reduced the noise immediately. However, following that, you did not respond to my messages. My neighbor, who is very considerate of all guests, contacted me several times, expressing that the noise was excessive and disrupting their sleep. This was also verified by the outdoor noise detector. I value the comfort of all my guests but must also consider the well-being of the local community. Thank you again for staying, and I hope this clarifies the situation.

It was a great , private property , that permitted pets . The dogs had a ball !

The area is very quiet & private . The neighbours in the area were friendly . It c have been so quiet , as the kids are back in school . But we r retired . So the area suited us perfectly .

We decided to give back and let our guests experience the beautiful nature Ontario has to offer. Our goal is to ensure we leave a good impression. We take pride in our properties from renovations and upgrades to our dock, siding, patio, sunrooms, flooring, decor, furniture, etc... Our goal is to ensure you have a home away from home.

We are very neat and tidy and clean, so my commitment to you is you are walking in to a cottage with the feel of a home. I would never want my kids playing in a place that is not clean at all times and we pass that to our guests.

I know a lot of people purchase used furniture since it is just a cottage and no need to spend money. That is not our mentality. We decided to refurnish the entire house:

The backyard has a beautiful fire pit so you can enjoy this acre lot day or night.
