The location is absolutely fantastic. Set on a small private island in a beautiful lake, it was peaceful while still being easy to access. The host was communicative and being able to rent the boat was a great extra. The kayaks and other water toys were a fantastic bonus. The only real downside is that for a larger group, the layout of the bathrooms provides low privacy - one is next to the kitchen, the second is open plan upstairs with no doors or dividers from the living room.

The house was clean, the beds were comfy, the hot tub was great, the views are amazing, the kayaks and paddle boat are added bonuses. The kitchen had almost everything needed - you’ll want to bring ziplock bags and aluminum foil if that’s something you use at home. Make sure you bring bug spray for the nights and if you’re scared of spiders or ants don’t come (it’s nature after all). We spent most of our time fishing and grilling during the day and shooting pool and playing cards at night; it was so relaxing. Josiah and Joe were both easy to communicate with. We would stay again for sure.

Amazing Property

This is the third time we've stayed at Josiah's property. It's a one of a kind location and a great cottage with all the amenities.

Sharbot Lake Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great accommodations, the house was clean and we wanted for nothing. Great views, fantastic fishing wonderful kayaking and floating in the lake on really hot days. We will be back!

Perfect Week Away

This place exceeded our expectations! It literally is a "bring clothes food only" destination. They provide practically everything you may need. Our family of 5 had the very best time enjoying the water toys, pool table and hot tub. Huge thank you to Joe for immediate responses to questions and ferrying our overpacked family over in trips! Hoping to go again next year!

Private Island Cottage

Nice house on small private island with lots of amenities to enjoy the lake and accommodation. Joe was superb at getting us settled in, giving us tips and ensuring that we were properly looked after. Good dock for our bowrider and Joe let us use his boat for fishing. Kayaks were a great hit with the kids. Overall, great family vacation in a nice cottage on a beautiful lake.

Outstanding Cottage Vacation

My wife can be difficult to please with her high elevated expectations regarding cleanliness and accommodations. However, this property easily met her expectations. From the check in process to starting our vacation, it was very smooth and seamless. The property was clean large and the cottage itself, way above our expectations on cleanliness space and functionality, we will definitely look at staying here again in the future

Peaceful place for rest and relaxation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kayaks, canoe, paddleboat and pool table kept us entertained all week. Lots of places to sit, relax and have a good read. We especially enjoyed the upstairs deck with its beautiful views. The water was very clear and the lake was quite quiet with very little boat traffic. Would have given five stars, but there were several ceiling lights that did not work, making it difficult to see during our games nights. It also would have been nice to have some sort of instructions for the hot tub and showers.

Spectacular Vacation Spot

This vacation home exceeded our expectations. The transport to and from the island was easy and friendly. The swimming was perfect - both the kids and adults spent hours jumping off the dock into the clear water and swimming around the island (tip: bring water shoes, the bottom of the lake is quite rocky in places.) We also enjoyed the kayaks. The house was clean and comfortable and struck the perfect balance between luxury (the showers!) and comfort. We appreciated that the kitchen was very well equipped. The fire pit was perfect for evening s'mores making. Checkout was easy and didn't involve a long chore list. We would happily stay again.

It’s Sharbot Lake!

Really, we had a great time. The location is amazing even if you don’t like to fish. The home had charm and personality. It creaked in all the right places. I think some updates are coming to the upstairs bathroom which will be nice. The whirlpool was nasty but the previous clients didn’t know how to care for it. When we notified the owner it was swiftly taken care of. Will would recommend highly.

Tranquil Getaway

Location gave a chance to appreciate lake living while being close to amenities on land.We rented a boat for the week and did some cruising and attempted fishing. We had a couple glitches but the host Joe was 100% the person you want to be looking after your stay.Always near by if you needed help.Property is exactly what you would want for 8 of us to have our space.A nice dock to swim off and lots of options for water activities. The main question is,would I go back? Of course.Would love to actually do better fishing next time though...lol.

Private island- so cool!

The house is beautiful and spacious. The property manager was responsive and helpful. The kitchen was well-appointed and we had everything we needed for cooking. I wish it had a dishwasher though. Bummer washing dishes by hand for a large group while on vacation. We loved taking the kayaks out every day. I would have loved a map of the lake, pointing out the location of shallow areas. We were too scared to use the motorboat because we were unfamiliar with the lake and there are a LOT of shallows. The beds were comfortable, I slept very well the whole time. The showers are a little intimidating and intense. It says it sleeps 8, but there isn’t room for 8 to dine. There are no bar stools at the breakfast bar. There is no patio table for outdoor dining. The small yard was roped off so we couldn’t use the grass at all for badminton or anything. Overall we had a very relaxing time, quiet and full of nature, which was our goal. The local grocery store was awesome: Dean’s. It had everything you could need and great prices.
