Mountain Vista is a beautiful mountain cabin nestled in the midst of Leatherwood Mountains Resort, a gated vacation resort offering horseback riding, restaurant and bar, tubing, biking, miles of trails and streams, fly fishing, wedding and corporate retreats.
Enjoy the scenic views from Mountain Vista while glimpsing at wildlife from the porch swing or rockers. The open floor plan allows you to spread out and relax in comfort. Fire up the grill on the spacious porch while watching the beautiful mountain sky. Gaze out at the stars, while relaxing in the hot tub. Mountain Vista has a king-size master suite on the main level, a queen suite bedroom on the top and bottom level, a queen sized sleeper sofa in the open loft, and a downstairs recreation room with a pool table, ping pong table, and foosball table. Whether you're enjoying a romantic get-away, a small family gathering, a girl's weekend, or a motorcycle ride exploring the surrounding area, you'll be touched by a kindred spirit that makes you want to come back to Mountain Vista time and time again!

Great visit!!

We loved our stay at the cabin during the Thanksgiving holiday!! Enjoyed sitting on the deck surrounded by a beautiful mountain view and Christmas lights. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Great view, Great Hot tub

Plenty of space, clean, all of the supplies you need to cook meals. Hot tub was amazing as were game tables. Pretty remote, so keep that in mind!

New Years Family Weekend

Beautiful, clean and comfortable house. Very quite neighborhood. Perfect for a family get away. Very nice pub and cafe within community. Wonderful spot.

What a lovely cabin!

Mountain Vista

Beautiful view with a nice and clean house. Good sized bedrooms. Plenty to keep busy such as pool table, hot tub, grill, all with a good view of the mountains. Would stay there again.

Great vacation in the mountains

This was our first visit to the area and although the weather didn't cooperate with some of our outdoor plans we had a terrific time. Abbie's cabin is very comfortable and an added bonus is it's pet friendly. Having a fenced-in backyard and a deck made for a great experience.

Beautiful, comfortable cabin

We were all delighted with Leatherwood and the cabin. Very well stocked, super clean, great view, comfy beds and plenty of space. Not hard to find, and the staff were great. The last 1.4 miles are a bit windy and narrow, but we didn't find it to be a problem. Worth it to sit out on the back deck and enjoy the quiet!

Great place to relax

We spent a couple of days at this cabin with two teenagers. The house was very clean and well maintained. The pool table was a great addition since it was raining one of the days and we had to spend it indoors. The horseback riding lessons was a wonderful experience too.

The property was beautiful and the cabin was great with amazing views. I suggest trying to find the property during the day if possible. The roads are small and very curvy. It’s a beautiful drive during the day but can be intimidating at night when you don’t know where you are going. Overall the stay was amazing.

Great house, tight roads

This was a great property in a very serene and secluded area. It's about 45 min from Blowing Rock and an hour from all the Yadkin wineries. Property was roomy, clean and in good shape. The only area that was a concern was the narrow roads, with steep drops,especially at night, made for some nervous moments. We would surely stay here again in the future.

Overall the trip was great. I would suggest bring in your own pillows, paper products, and trash bags. Cleaning needs some improvement. House and view were beautiful. Easy to check in a checkout. Would come back.

Perfect mix of relaxation and fun

Our family enjoyed a week at this gorgeous property. The views were stunning, the game room kept the kids entertained, and everything was so clean and comfortable! It was the perfect place to go to unwind but also have fun. The community pool is nice but small. We had it all to ourselves on a couple of occasions. But with other people present it felt a little awkward and crowded. The closest grocery is 1/2 hour away, so I recommend stocking up. The house was well stocked with spices for cooking. We would absolutely recommend it!

Solitude

Mt. Vista has a great feel when you enter the home. It is comfortable well appointed , kitchen has everything you could want including wine openers. It definitely has everything one could want, coffee and coffee maker are a must for us. I smiled big having my coffee on the back porch taking in the view, and drinking my Joe. Beds and pillows were not as comfortable for us but it’s hard to beat one’s own bed and pillows. The first time driving up to the house was tricky we lost cell service and it was dark and raining so be careful to use the map provided by resort. You well thank me. The staff are so friendly, polite and ready to serve our need. JC

Beautiful home and property, but beds are really bad. The king size bed tilts back when you sleep on it. Need more pillows. The ones that are there are completely flat due to overuse. Other than that the experience was really good. The BBQ was dirty and needed to be maintained (I had to clean it).

Wonderful mountain getaway!

We took this trip for a peaceful, mountain getaway and we were not disappointed. The house had everything we needed and more. I have never been to rental that was so well stocked. The kids loved the hot tub and we had a fantastic time in the downstairs game room. We played for hours! The house is perfectly located for great views and quietness. The kids proclaimed that we were moving there! We wish!! Believe them when they say it is remote. Nearest grocery store is a good 30 miles away. Bring everything you need with you when you come. Once you get there you will never want to leave anyway!!

Relaxing Mountain Getaway

Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay in Leatherwood Mountains lovely resort property. We enjoyed staying at the Mountain Vista cabin - especially the porch swing and back deck with a bit of view of the mountains, the pool table and hot tub, the large open living and kitchen area. The cabin could definitely use some deep cleaning and some hospitality TLC - but fit our needs for the week. We also enjoyed the community pool and gift shop and one meal at the restaurant w/concert. We enjoyed hiking - there were trail maps but the trails were not real easy to navigate - be sure to ask at the front desk - the app they recommend helps some too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were prepared for the steep narrow roads to get up to the cabin - only one way down so need to be calculated in timing your trips up and down the mountain. We did not ride the horses as it was really a hot week. The "tubing" is mostly for children. We took day trips to Boone/Blowing Rock, Wilkesboro area and the Raffaldini Vineyards (lovely!). We will have wonderful memories of our time there.
