Strategically located on a secluded, peaceful shoreline of beautiful Norris Lake, 1/2 mile north of Flat Hollow Marina, "Shady Grove" provides the best of all worlds. This huge 8 bedroom cabin provides plenty of room for friends & family. Take the unbelievably easy walk to your private dock located in a sheltered cove. You will feel like you are in your own corner of the world enjoying the pristine waters of Tennessee's cleanest lake. Grab your kayak or paddle board and stroll around the acres upon acres of no wake, protected water. When the time is right, cruise past Flat Hollow marina to enjoy endless miles of uncrowded Norris Lake ski water.

**Prior to submitting questions, you must read entire note section below. **

No watercraft? No worries. Simply rent by contacting NorrisLakeWaterSports (ask for Norris Lake Villas discount) they offer delivery services or contact nearby Flat Hollow marina (ask for the Norris Lake Villas discount) and Powell Valley Marina. Next closest are Springs Dock and Blue Springs Dock. Due to liability reasons, we cannot provide flotation devices. We do provide the large floating dock.

The nearest marina with full services including boat ramp is Flat Hollow marina 1/2 mile away via road or water. The marina also has gas, ice, restaurant, beer, and small grocery items, and entertainment such as live music. Store your trailers and extra vehicles in the designated parking lots above the marina.

Parking on premises accommodates 6 vehicles and trailers. Extra vehicles and trailers can be parked in designated areas above the marina. The boat launch is at Flat Hollow Marina 1/2 mile away.

We provide a large propane grill with free propane. The large town of LaFollette, TN offers many typical businesses such as hospitals, drug stores, fast food, sit down restaurants, and full grocery stores. For reference to your target destination, Shady Grove is located approximately 15 minutes east of downtown LaFollette.

Notes:*** The contact information including name, phone number, and email address must belong to the primary 'Guest' - the sole person responsible for booking this home. We do not accept multiple persons or nicknames. *** The primary guest must be a minimum 28 years of age to book this home. This person is who will be held responsible for any damages inflicted upon the property. *** Any violations to these rules will trigger cancellation and forfeiture of an administration fee.

Great family vacay

We had a wonderful time on our family vacation. The house had plenty of room for what we needed. We rented a pontoon boat at the local marina one of the days we were in town. If you have a big group and you’re looking to get away, this is a great place.

The house and lake were beautiful. But the stairs and path to the lake were steep and hard on the senior citizens. Had a person fall going to the dock. The steps in the house : same Also, there was not a bathroom that was not attached to a bedroom. Felt like you were invading someones personal space. But , for a young family, it probably would be ok. All in all, nice place and vacation.

Fall Weekend Famijy Gathering

It was a wonderful fall break weekend vacation with the family. Family members could fish, enjoy the hot tub, sit around the fire, be together and have fun. A great place to gather yet plenty of room to get away. Side note: A lot of steps to maneuver for small children and adults with leg problems and/or not used to going up and down stairs, who may live in a ranch.house.

Shade Grove

Property very clean. Great location. Enjoyed the private dock and lagoon. Blackstone grill made it very convenient to feed a large group. Plenty of refrigerator storage with the 2 refrigerators.Kayaks were fantastic. We would recommend this place to everyone.

Great mountain cabin experience

Property exactly as described...fantastic for large groups. The kitchen was outfitted for cooking in contrast to some properties we have rented that did not have adequate dishes, pans, etc. The deepwater dock was very enjoyable, but you would do well to bring a pop-up tent for shade during the hotter parts of the day. We had a nice time were pleased with the property.

You’ll love to vacation here!

This is one of the easiest locations to get to on this side of the lake. Parking area is flat and fits multiple vehicles. Kitchen is well stocked, rooms are good sized and views from the dock are spectacular. Great location at the back of the cove, no water traffic so it’s great for spending time in the water. Flat Hollow Marina was been upgraded, make sure to try the cheese curds! We can’t wait to come back

Wonderful place for our family vaca!

Spent a week at this beautiful and incredibly clean home for our family vacation. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for everyone! We enjoyed the lake during the day and spent every evening on the dock. It has a great fishing and swimming area (it's the last home in the cove). My uncle was lucky enough to catch a 23lb catfish! Thanks for sharing your place with us. We will definitely be back!

Relaxing time at beautiful Lake Norris!

The house was spacious; we had 10 adults and could have had more but a few cancelled at the last minute. It was nice having the many levels of the house. There were plenty of bathrooms so that was great also. The kitchen had most everything that we needed; we cooked every night so it was wonderful having 2 refrigerators to store left overs. We LOVED being on the water; it was beautiful and warm! When we arrived, the dock ramp was broken; we were able to put that back together but it still did seem "shaky" the whole time we were there. It would have been nice to have a stair rail on this ramp and all the way up to the decks of the house as we had one person with special needs who had a hard time not having something to hold onto when crossing the lake and climbing part of the steps. Otherwise, the dock was great; we rented a boat through Flat Hollow Marina and that was a hit. The house is back off in a cove, so we had a lot of privacy. We had a really special time. Thank you,

All the folks involved in the rental process were great. Access to property was simple. Bedroom selections were perfect. Kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, pots and pans, appliances we needed. Brought our kayaks, and really enjoyed the water front access. Price was very good. Looking forward to renting again.

The house and dock are in need of some repairs. Would not recommend for anyone who has problems with steps. No beach for the little ones. Everything needs to be done off the dock

Amazing water fun!

We had family from 4 states ranging from 5 to 63 years. The main floor was the hub for meals and adults, the lower level game room was perfect for the kids. The kitchen was adequately supplied for our needs (but no baking sheets for pizzas). The sleeping arrangements were great, just be aware, the lower the level, the cooler the sleeping conditions. I would suggest bringing fans for the upper bedrooms. The house was clean (but the stairs had some dust bunnies). Oh my, lots of stairs! I ate well, but didn't gain any weight! The dock was amazing for the whole group to hang out while swimming; it had hooks for life jackets and a line for hanging wet towels, a table and chairs (we also brought bag chairs). The water was like your own private space, with no worries about boats flying by, very clean and safe for swimming (most important for our group). If I had any suggestions it would be a railing for the crossing grate to get to the dock. We had 2 problems when we arrived and both were completely addressed quickly. Also note, there really isn't any yard space, we never got the bags game out but really we didn't miss it because we were either swimming, eating, playing indoors or sleeping. We didn't rent a boat, and never missed not having one. We brought lots of life jackets, floaties and noodles! We would definitely highly recommend this property for any large group of adults and kids, especially if you are looking for those who want to enjoy the water!

Family Vacation

Had a great experience, the location is fantastic. Basically you get your own private cove to hang out in. Overall the property was great, but there are some areas that could use some improvement. The stairs to the dock are not in great shape, and the bunk beds in the top room are only suitable for very young light children. The owner was terrific getting back to me , but the property management group did not respond to the text I sent regarding needing new light bulbs. In the grand scheme of things, minor complaints.

Great time

My family enjoyed our stay at Shady Grove. Instructions to get there from I-75 were excellent. If coming from the north, do not follow GPS, although it was a beautiful drive through the mountains. We found several things to do in the area, but nothing is close. Just getting to TN-63 is a beautiful drive but long from the house. We enjoyed the area, there were several places we went to eat that were wonderful. We had an extra "tween" with us, she and my 12-YO granddaughter enjoyed the dock and being able to have a room and entire floor to themselves. The setting is beautiful, the hot tub was a special extra that the kids enjoyed (NO splashing!!) so they just enjoyed and the adults also enjoyed at the end of the day. We had room to spread out, but also able to be together. A couple of minor problems that were taken care of immediately by the property manager. Thank you for making this available for a wonderful Spring Break visit!

Labor Day Family Trip

Everything we needed for our group of 15 adults and 5 littles. Kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. Cove location was absolutely perfect with little ones swimming off the dock without worrying about boat traffic!

Comfortable House and Setting

We had three families and this being a five story home, each family was able to have plenty of room for young children. Young ones waking up at night was not a problem for others. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had good appliances including a good dishwasher,, and the washer/dryer was big and well used by our crowd. A/C was good. Didn't have Internet most of the week, unfortunately, even after rebooting. 58 steps down to a nice solid big dock with metal table and chairs and one boat slip and a place to tie up our rented pontoon. House is the last one on a small cove so nice secluded area for little kids to swim safely. Long idle out to the main lake was annoying, especially people who would yell if you threw more than a tiny wake, but it was ok.

Summer Vacation

Property was exactly as the listing described it. There was ample room for the entire group to spread out, there are 15 of us from age 7 to 65, 8 adults, 7 kids. We loved the secluded cove, we spent all day everyday floating off the dock. We rented a pontoon boat from Flat Hollow Marina, everyone there was happy to help. The only item that needs attention of the owners, is the metal ramp to the floating dock. It has shifted on the steps that support it so it tips to the left. The metal that makes up the deck has also shifted and is a trip hazard. We will book this same house for our vacation July of 2023.

Family Get Together

Great place for 10 people of different ages and interests to get together. Lake is beautiful and easily approached from the house. Lots of steps for older people or those with impaired mobility. No good restaurants close by. Marina an easy walk.

Beautiful week

Shady Grove house provided all that our big family needed-space! The kitchen had all the smaller appliances you would need as well as plenty of dishes, mixing bowels, silverware, etc. There were games, blankets, outside umbrellas, and lots of other things that made our stay cozy. This was a great place!
