Welcome to the Folk Tree Lodge and congratulations!
You’ve just found the coolest cabins close to Calgary.

Nested in a private forested setting, the Folk Tree Lodge offers unmatched artisan-crafted cabins and natural beauty. Located just 5 minutes from the eclectic shopping and dining of Bragg Creek, our 30 acres of paradise will make for a truly satisfying stay. Enjoy a rustic log cabin experience with all of the modern luxuries. Folk Tree Lodge is ideal for retreats, corporate meetings, and getting together with family or friends.

Cozied into the pine trees and overlooking the pasture, the Deer House weaves together rustic charm and artistic craftsmanship. An authentic log cabin built in 1954 (renovated in 2005), appointed with original oak floors, a cozy stone fireplace and a spacious sunroom ideal for retreats and wildlife viewing. The Deer house is great for family gatherings, retreats (wellness, corporate, yoga, craft, etc), as well as for business meetings and events.

- 4 bedrooms with 4 hand crafted Queen beds + additional Queen pull-out in the sunroom
- 2 Bathrooms, one with shower and other with shower + jetted tub
- Fully equipped kitchen and dining room
- Cozy indoor fireplace and living area
- Hidden loft bedroom (not suitable for very young or elderly as there is steep stair access)
- Extra large heated sunroom ideal for events
- Forested patio and backyard with fire pit
- Sleeps 8-10

Please inform us accurately about the number of guests staying at the lodge. Each cabin is designed to safely accommodate a certain number of guests. 5. If you have visiting guests who are not staying overnight, additional charge of $15 per guest will apply. 6. Guests must seek pre-approval to move furniture. 7. Please be diligent about leaving on lights and windows open, especially when leaving the property. 8. We will take an imprint of your credit card incase of any damage to the property during your stay.

Absolutely amazing. The perfect location for my family to celebrate an early Christmas. The kitchen had a great supply of dishes, pots and pans. I brought crock pots and large pots which really helped. The bedrooms are beautiful with their log furniture. Everything was perfect.

Very Clean property

We booked for our parents and total adults were 9. All slept very comfortably. It’s old bungalow but fully up graded. We will definitely recommend this.

Fantastic property

It doesn’t often happen that a property is better than you expected- but this property was truly spectacular (and even let us see a moose from the deck)! And the support we received from the host was top notch. I hadn’t realized that there were other buildings so close to this cabin so driving in was a surprise, but once there we felt utterly secluded the whole time. We will be back.

This was our second time staying here. We always have a great time when we are here. Great location, quiet, spacious, close enough to town. Very clean and all necessities available. Love it!

Beautiful little slice of heaven in the Kananskis.

Absolutely beautiful log home with tonnes of room for our family of 4. Nicely secluded backyard with a fire pit overlooking a beautiful meadow with the odd deer grazing it in and a lovely little nature walk close by on the property. Within 5 minutes to the town of Bragg Creek and just a short drive to the gorgeous Elbow Falls. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the Beaver House! It was everything we were looking for, cute and cozy. We spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace and walking the trails on the property, also used hiking trails not to far as well. The manager Spencer was great help when we needed him. I would definitely consider going back and visit in the summer! Thanks for having us!

Beautiful log cabin with amazing yard and property

Our group had a great time in this peaceful and private little getaway. We were pleasantly surprised at the little playground and walks and trails right on the property. The cabin had so much character and really felt authentic. Sunroom was bright and nice and open for kids to play. Overall great place!

Had a great stay

Enjoyed our stay very much. Thought the Deer House was all by itself but there were other buildings and another house on the property. Was no problem. There were more condiments provided such as coffee than was not expected. Needed more kitchen and bath towels. Decorations were interesting. No washing was available in the house but one was available in the caretakers house. Overall quite enjoyable.
