It’s true—being in Holland, right along Lake Michigan, is truly ideal. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to connect after your stay, as I genuinely value your perspective. As we discussed, we’re continually working with the property owners as they make improvements to their cottage. I completely understand your point about the entrance—it is a bit awkward. The hub was initially positioned too far from the door, but we’ve since added repeaters to improve the keypad’s efficiency. While we couldn’t replicate the challenges you experienced with the dishwasher, we’ve upgraded the soap quality in hopes of making a difference moving forward. I’m happy to share that the gas fireplace is now working more efficiently. My apologies it was set on the wrong mode; You were the first guest to use it since early spring. We do provide essentials like dishwasher soap, dish soap, hand soap, and body wash. I sincerely apologize that some of those items were not filled prior to your arrival. Our 24/7 guest service line is the fastest way to call or text for assistance, as our goal is always to ensure guests feel at ease while staying at our properties. I truly apologize that your stay was not ideal, but I’m grateful we had the chance to discuss your experience. I hope we can welcome you and your family back in the future for a much smoother and more relaxing stay. Sincerely, Cara Owner, Freshwater Vacation Rentals

Scot, thank you so much for this effusive review! We love hearing how much you enjoyed the property. Thank you for your kind words for FVR. It means a lot to us. I hope that you got to Sagautuck for one of your adventures. It's a great little artist haven right on the water. We appreciate what responsible guests you were, and we look forward to you return. - Claire, FVR

I'm thrilled you had such an overall, positive experience! It is indeed a beautiful home with breathtaking views. Absolutely no doubt. I feel bad to hear about the inconveniences you experienced with the beds, door and hot water. While the owners chose the new bed configuration and door lock, we will continue to make sure the doors open easily and don't stick. I will also remind our cleaning staff to double check the dishes guests put away, as some may not be as conscientious as others. I hear you that hot water tank is strained with larger groups. I wish I had a better option at this moment. We've hear that when showers are staggered with a larger group, it maximizes the hot water. Still, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for being wonderful guests! We hope to have you back again in the near future. Sincerely, Cara Owner, Freshwater Vacation Rentals

YES! I can't agree with you more-- the view is incredible! I appreciate you acknowledging the responsive service my small office provides. We work hard at personally responding 24/7 to our guests when they are staying at one of our properties. That being said, I sincerely apologize for the hiccups you had during your stay. 1. For starters, have now replaced and upgraded the z-wave connection of the new lock and our software. I apologize your entry wasn't as smooth as it should have been. We have a custom code for each guest, and I apologize the technology wasn't as smooth as it should have been. 2. I'm sorry the fireplaces were a challenge. The upstairs fireplace does require a remote. The downstairs fireplace is inoperable due to the chimney. 3. You are correct. Showers do need to be staggered for the hot water tank to catch up with the usage. We are working on a plan with the property owners to increase the capacity, yet that is not on the immediate horizon. 4. The beautiful front door. Yes, we are continuing to work the property owners on an easier guaranteed emergency exit that didn't involve an interior key. 5. I'm surprised to hear you found a musty smell. We haven't been able to replicate it, yet have kept our housekeepers on the look-out. 6. Additional blinds-- I will pass this suggestion along to the owners. Thank you for your comprehensive feedback. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time overall. We look forward to having you back again in the future.

Thank you for your detailed review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful views, private beach, spacious layout, and outdoor gathering areas. It's great to know the home worked well for your family getaway. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the bikes, porch condition, and beach clean-up accommodations. Guest feedback helps us improve, and we will share your comments with our team for review. Thank you again for staying with us, and we're glad to hear you had an overall great vacation. We hope to welcome you back in the future! Van, FVR
