This was the best family vacation we ever experienced. Four families, with children from 6 months to 18, all had a stupendous time. The lake was the biggest attraction and we all loved the floating raft pad, the kayaks and paddle boards. We played soccer and badminton in the side yard, lazed in the Adirondack chairs, and ate great meals prepared with the help of the chef’s kitchen. We would really love to return.

Ecellent property and host communication was outstanding. Perfect spot for a family reunion or large group. Right on the lake, great deck, comfy rooms, and well stocked kitchen. Quiet and private, yet 15 mins from shopping and restaurants, or 30 mins to downtown Olympia and the marina. This house owners live up to it highest ratings and reviews.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay together. We were there for my father's funeral and being able to stay at such a peaceful, beautiful location was perfect. We will be back.

The house is so inviting and friendly. Room for all. Stocked with so many things and decorated for each season. Comfortable beds, inclusive family space, back deck and dock are always used for enjoying the scenes/water.

Awesome property

Was in town with coworkers doing some work for a week. Property has everything you’d need including all the lake toys. Property owner is very accommodating and easy to reach!

Absolutely dreamy

Everything about staying at The Swedish Fish either met or exceeded our expectations. So many details contributed to the sense of comfort and welcome. Sarah provided warm and responsive communication. We definitely hope to be back!

Couldn’t ask for anything more

The house was beautifully accommodated for all 8 of us. What was really special was we could spread out and have private conversations. We are seven siblings who haven’t been together in a long time and we’re so grateful for The Swedish Fish House and the Andersons.

Family connection time

House was perfect for our needs — great space and lovely environment. Would have liked more sunshine, but the girls got in the water anyway and had a great time, coming out blue lips and all. Kitchen was well-supplied and the beds were comfortable—essentials for a good stay. We enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the hosts communications.

Incredible place

Our extended family of 12 had such a wonderful time! The kitchen was stocked well enough to cook a complete Thanksgiving meal from scratch! Sara was a wonderful host answering any questions we had quickly! The view is beautiful! Didn’t get to enjoy the kayaks and water because of the time of year, but we all agree we want to come back when it’s warmer to fully enjoy the house and lake!! Oh and beds were comfy too!!

Sarah was a very excellent host! Very detailed directions and detailed preparation of the house. We had an extended family gathering over Thanksgiving weekend and she had put out Autumnal/Thanksgiving pillows, napkins, etc. The house was spotless, comfortable for 11 people with two sitting areas and a large enough kitchen. All supplies were provided; this is the first house I’ve rented in Europe or the US that had every kitchen tool needed! We enjoyed a visit to an area new to us and would recommend the house wholeheartedly.

Our family party of 10 had 3 generations and ranged in age from 20 to 70. We all had the BEST time at the property! The outdoor space, views, and weather was the difference maker in making this one of our best family vacations. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming in the lake. Aside from the open lake, there's a beautiful cove just left of the property that is majestic to kayak through! We also played games on the deck and even enjoyed some badminton. One outing day to Seattle/Pikes Place Market was a 1-1.5 hr drive and we found a few local trails other days within a 15-20 min drive that were fun with great views.

Girls Getaway

This was the perfect location for our annual Girls getaway, so much so that we decided to make it a bi annual event and use this location again. There were 8 of us, which meant everyone got their own bed, the dining table was set for 8 and having a family room to watch tv and work a puzzle, plus a living room where the couch and recliners were used to curl up with a book was fantastic. We also had walkers and kayakers in the group who got to meet the neighbors who were very friendly, one neighbor actually went out of their way to flag us down and tell us what a great group we were and shared a bottle of wine for us to enjoy! The house was also fully stocked with more than everything we needed!

This was our second stay at the Swedish Fish - everything was as we remembered it, comfortable and lovely, but it was when a wind storm took out the power that our stay got really special. Our host, Sarah immediately checked in on us. Her husband, Todd, brought us flashlights and drinking water (which we only needed for a little while before he and a neighbor got a generator going which got the water going again) and he built a fire in the wood-burning stove for us! He did all this when we all thought the power was going to be restored by like 7 that evening and we were so glad he did because the power did not get restored before we left. But we were cozy and comfortable the whole time. Sarah and Todd are just the loveliest people and this group of friends will definitely be back again and again! Also, the beds and bedding are just extravagantly comfortable and there are super soft throw blankets scattered all over the common areas. And the view of the lake is beautiful and relaxing.

Five Stars!!! Outstanding property!!

The Swedish Fish Lake house was everything advertised and more. My family and I stayed for thanksgiving with relatives in the area. The house was awesome. The hosts were even better!! Great communication and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. I will definitely want to stay again!!!

Cozy Stay

We loved the decor, lake and views. Sara was great with answering all questions and giving great recommendations. It was our first family road trip in years and we will cherish the memories we had at the Lakehouse. Thank you again Sara!!

Lake St Clair lakefront

The house had a wonderful lake view. There was plenty of space with nice sized rooms. The beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with nothing left out. The owners were very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lakefront getaway.
