It was an all-around great and unique place and location with a variety of activities on hand to keep everyone occupied and engaged. We had a wonderful time.

Such a beautiful space with amazing views and no shortage of things to do, no matter the weather! The hosts were quick to reply to any message we sent (even with the new addition to their family!) and anything we needed could be grabbed with a quick drive to Fenelon Falls. Our dog especially loved the water access and swimming everyday - even got her out on a kayak! Definitely recommend and would love to go back again!

Beautiful property and our hosts gave us a comprehensive guide to enjoy to the fullest. The living area is accessed by a spiral staircase so it’s a bit tight bringing large items up, but there’s a fridge on the lower level so we made good use of that. The main cottage is super comfy. We chose to sleep in the bunkie and it was so nice. Had great bocce tournaments on the lawn. The highlight was having a river swim then jumping in the outdoor shower! The water entrance is easy for people via the dock ladder and dogs who like to jump off docks. Our dog had a bit of trouble accessing the water via slippery rocks. He’s a bit of a diva. The neighbours are lovely and like dogs, we introduced ours and made sure he didn’t stray onto their property. We had a great week and would love to come up again. Thank you, Hosts!

This is such a fun property. We really loved the cozy, welcoming feel and the sleeping loft with a view of the stars. We would definitely think about coming back in warm weather to fully enjoy the outdoor setup.

Check in was smooth and easy. Loved the outdoor kitchen and the indoor kitchen was fully equipped and clean. Great Wi-Fi access the entire visit!!The outdoor bunkie was a great place to sleep! Cozy and well-equipped. Our dog loved it too!
Really great water access. Burnt River was amazing. Swimming, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing were all at the ready, fun, and beautiful.

Great Getaway

Well equipped and really close to sandy public beach/ walking trail. Friendly neighbours and lots to do or just chill in the hammock. Hosts very responsive and helpful. A place to really relax.

Perfect getaway

Had a beautiful time! Just the right dose of quiet, nestled into a nice spot on the water. Very cozy, dynamic space with a lot of thought and care put into comfort. Plus it’s a very reasonable distance from the city

Cute Rustic Cottage on the River

Great cozy feeling. Amazing cottage vibes. Quiet area with friendly neighbours. The dog also enjoyed the property! We enjoyed our week getaway. Communication with the owners was fantastic start to finish. Would definitely book again!

Cozy and inspirational

Had a great time next to the river. Made good use of both BBQs and outdoor speaker system! Angelica and Brandon provided many items that made it easier for us to pack (Towels, coffee, sheets, popcorn etc) and also were very easy to communicate with. Cottage as advertised and would definitely recommend!

loved our stay

we really loved the place..we used both the cottage and one of the bunklies and it was perfect for two couples. There were so many great details. My only complaint was the loft..it was hot and stuffy as it was so high up even with the air conditioning on and there was almost no headspace. The River was beautiful and so was the area. Anjelica was a great host and made sure we were well taken care of . Highly recommended.

Burnt river

Had a lovely stay here, the small details made it really cozy! Hosts provided everything you need! I would only note that, if individuals experience claustrophobia sleeping in the loft in the cottage, the bed may be too close to the ceiling. However, the bunkie is comfortable to sleep if that’s the case! Overall, cute cottage !

Did not leave the property!

What a completely relaxing and wonderful week. We had many swims, fires, books, music and on the rainy day-Netflix. Our hosts got back to us immediately if we had any questions and even ordered an air pump when we asked if they owned one. I caught (and released) my first musky and thoroughly enjoyed all the birds and wildlife. We all came home feeling great!

A serene and relaxing getaway

This cottage was the perfect weekend getaway. The loft and small cabin were very cozy and comfortable and there are lots of nice places around the property to lounge, read and hang out (verandas, hammock, dock). The cottage has so many fun amenities (game room, tons of DVDs, outdoor kitchen, barbecue, fire pit, outdoor shower) that I could stay for even longer without getting bored. The property is clean and nicely maintained and felt like I was at home. I usually look for cottages on lakes, but this river was amazing. I love the property’s dock and the water is clear and refreshing. The swimming was excellent! There are trees and bushes that give privacy from the road and nearby cabins so the stay was very peaceful. None of us wanted to leave, and I will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect mini-honeymoon!

Riverrun is beautiful! My husband and I were just here for a mini honeymoon and we loved it. It is definitely smaller than the impression given by the photos but it is otherwise great. Check in was simple, and the neighbours we met were all friendly and happy to meet us and our dogs. The location is awesome, not too far from Fenelon Falls where we went for ice cream and the best poutine I've ever had! There was alot of bugs but thats to be expected given the time of year - definitely bring bug spray. There was also alot of really beautiful hummingbirds, bumblebees, and chipmunks though so it was all worth the bug bites. Would definitely recommend to a couple or small group looking to unwind and get out of the city for a few days!

Cute little cottage on the river

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was a great location. The property did not have properly installed smoke detectors, they were placed on side tables and in main cottage above the door. Not good for people sleeping in the loft. There also was not a smoke detector on the main floor. We decided to sleep in the bunkie because we felt safer as we were able to place the smoke detector up higher and there were no appliances in there. The bunkie was not cleaned. Sheets were dirty and there were dirty ear plugs on the side table. Coffee makers were also very dirty and need a good cleaning. We ended up having to go into town for a coffee every morning. This property has so much potential to be a great place to stay for a few days. Owners just need to clean better and install smoke detectors to ensure guests safety.

Hi Megan, Thanks for the valuable feedback after your stay with us. We have immediately corrected the improper installation of the fire alarms (all installed on the ceiling on every floor and every outbuilding on the property.) Because we are new property owners, and very new hosts at the time of the review, we sincerely apologize for the improper installation. Regarding the linens, our policy, stated in the listing and correspondence with us prior to your stay, is to let us know when you want to use the Bunkie. As you did not inform us, the Bunkie was not prepared for your use. For the future, we encourage you to raise any concerns during your stay instead of afterwards. Most hosts, including us, have someone in the area to action complaints and we would have happily contacted them, or come up ourselves to fix issues, as we have done for other guests who communicate with us during their stays. Thanks again for your stay with us and for the opportunity to learn about hosting guests.

Not Suitable for Seniors

Although advertised as 2 bedroom/2 bath, there are NO bedrooms and only 1 bath. There is one storage loft with a mattress on the floor with no head clearance and 1 bunkie outside with an outhouse beside it. The cottage does not lock so no way to secure belongings if you leave the premises. There is no place to store belongings (kitchen cabinets or shelves, closets etc) so be prepared to live out of suitcases and boxes. This cottage was not very clean (bathroom garbage still present, mold in fridge, cigarette butts on balcony) and cottage is very difficult to access as you must access with all your belongings and food up a very narrow spiral staircase on the outside of the cottage. The riverfront and dock were the best things about this cottage.

Riverrun cottage was beautiful, spacious and private. Right on the river with gorgeous views. Our dog enjoyed the large property to run and play fetch. Outdoor kitchen and the games room were awesome and the skylight loft was very romantic for star gazing at night.

A burnt river beauty!

My family and I stayed at this charming property in July. Our communications from start to finish with the owners was painless, efficient and always pleasant! Upon arrival the property was exactly as advertised, well maintained, clean, uniquely charming and clearly loved! We took full advantage of the many amenities provided….games room , video games, kayaks, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, hammock and more! We all, including our dog Pax loved our daily swim and early morning walks to meet the friendly locals. The property is of a good size overlooking burnt river and is mostly private with a visible view of one neighbour who were lovely, respectful and tolerant of our very friendly dog. The cottage itself is very cozy and charming and well equipped for any kind of cooking inside or outside. Nearby small town Fenelon Falls had some great antique shopping and a pet store for treats! We had a very fun, yet relaxing week at this property and definitely felt very much at home!
