Southern Serenity Carriage House – Cozy Coastal Living in Rosemary Beach

The Southern Serenity Carriage House was designed by the famous local design firm Tracery Interiors. Sleeping the largest amount of guests of any carriage house in our program, Southern Serenity’s Sister provides a stylish, convenient and economical option for multiple guests.

The main level features a private master bedroom with Queen bed, private bath & flat screen TV. The gathering room has vaulted ceilings, flat screen TV with surround sound as well as a pull out Queen sleeper sofa, dining table for up to four guests and kitchen with full size appliances. A spiral staircase leads you to a closed loft with two Queen beds, full bath and TV - perfect for singles, couples, or children.

Whether you start a game of bocce on the nearby West Long Green, enjoy the sunshine or stars from your private balcony, or take a stroll to the nearby boutiques, restaurants and pools, Southern Serenity’s Sister is quite an appealing affordable option right here in Rosemary Beach.

The carriage house was the perfect place to stay with my husband and 2 young children (9 and 5). It was a great location and came with 2 bikes.

The location is top notch! The beds are comfortable. Understanding it is a rental and there will some wear and tear on the property, however … this property had one too many things needing attention…The carpet on the spiral stairs is a disgrace! As well as both area rugs.We would have enjoyed coffee or cocktails on the deck… no chairs/tableIt couldn’t be too costly to add a full length to the back of a door OR one of empty walls on main floor bedroom… shower rod rusted and curtain beyond cheap…Frying pans need to be replaced… there was ONE suitable wine glass …Only stating this because there is an expectation when it comes to RM BEACH!

Online listing not accurate to actual

All appliances dented upon arrivalHi! sone initial thoughts on our accommodations: we are very thankful for our location and vacation and we've saved and planned for this vacation for months; drove 8 hours as well. The photos online of our accommodations were amazing and unfortunately, upon arrival, we entered to see dented appliances, stained chair, wobbly refrigerator and what feels like unstable spiral stairs, and a bathroom upstairs with a curtain rather than a door and a sink inside our bedroom area. We just feel that what we saw online doesn't match what we have, and it's a disappointment.

Great Carriage House

Though small, this property was comfortable for 4 people. The location is excellent- easy walks to beach, pools, shopping and restaurants.

20 years of Romaary

After coming to Rosemary for 20 years, this was definitely the most disappointing rental. The rental was “clean”, but still gross from the old rusted fixtures and worn out carpet and finishes. Most of the rental seems to be an original un-renovated Rosemary property that has been rented weekly. The cleaning crew made sure the house was “clean” with fresh sheets, but I’ve stayed in nicer Motel 6’s. It is in desperate need of a renovation to be at 30-a standards.

Nice carriage house

The location is quite nice. Access to all Rosemary Beach amenities in walking distance - beach, dining, shopping bike paths and trails. The residence is nicely out fitted but I will opt for more square footage next time. It's a little tight for three people especially in the kitchen.

Disappointed Stay- Carriage House

--- **Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend** I’m not one to write reviews or complain, so this is hard for me to write, but I’m really disappointed with my stay at this carriage house. I had read the negative reviews before booking, but stated been updated -unfortunately, it didn’t reflect the current state of the property. There was a strong, unpleasant smell of MUSKY AND MOLD, throughout the house. When I complained, they sent someone over to spray and clean the vent, which was filthy! If I could attach pictures I would. The carpet was so dirty it was black, and I couldn't relax at all because of the overall lack of cleanliness. There is 2 beds upstairs with an open commode and a shirt shower curtain for a privacy (gross). You can also brush your teeth from the bed since the sink is at the end. Additionally, the pool connected to the house was noisy and distracting, which didn’t help the situation. Sadly, this experience has left a bad impression, and I won’t be using this rental company or this particular carriage house again. We usually love staying in carriage houses, but this one was a disappointment. -l

Mother - Daughter weekend

We had a great time in Rosemary. We were able to walk everywhere. Walk to the beach only a short distance with the boardwalk outside our house going directly to the entrance to the beach. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location within walking distance of beach access, shops, and restaurants. The vacation rental was very clean. Beds were not the most comfortable but overall, I recommend this vacation rental. The location was perfect. We loved being in the town of Rosemary Beach.

We loved being in the town of Rosemary Beach...walking distance to two of the pools, the town center, and beach access. We were also walking distance from a little shopping area of Seacrest. We highly recommend the short drive to the Donut Hole on 30A for breakfast! Sleeping arrangements worked out well for me, my husband, and our 3 children. Rental cleanliness was comparable to other rentals managed by a company rather than individuals. They never are thoroughly cleaned but it wasn’t horrible. We were satisfied with our stay. Customer service was top notch! That was a big plus. Anytime we needed anything, we could text and get a prompt response!

The property was exactly what we needed and were looking for. It was extremely clean with such great use of the small space. The property management company was extremely responsive and very accommodating. The location of this rental is unmatched with it being in the middle of everything. We will be doing a Rosemary Beach trip every year and will always book with 30A Luxury Vacations!

Dated Property, Great Location

Cons: 1. Stains on couch and ripped material on couch 2. Worn side chair 3. Multiple wasps in unit on 1st and 2nd day, a few palmetto bugs, and ants throughout trip. 4. 2nd floor shower leaked through cracked ceiling on 1st floor (property manager caulked and sealed to resolve) 5. A/C unit went out (property manager addressed) 6. Very little hot water for showering (we did not report this given too many issues to keep reporting) 7. Dirty grout and chipped tile in various places throughout unit. 8. Vents were extremely dusty and gritty. 9. Spiral staircase did not inspire confidence and top step showed signs of separation from wall. 10. Porch covered with bird droppings. 11. Walls clearly had marks or stains that were brushed over instead of just repainting the unit. Pros: 1. Amazing location 2. Plenty of space for family of 5 that includes 2 teenage kids. 3. TV's in each room, dishwasher, microwave. We did not stay a full week, so we did not need a washer and dryer, but if there is one it would be in the garage which is shared by residents in the main house. If the unit was completely renovated, painted, furniture completely replaced, tile replaced, appliances replaced (current includes old silverware, dented toaster, etc.), small washer and dryer added in the unit...then it would be a fantastic place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We agree with other reviews stating the unit needs some TLC. Overall the unit does have some ware and tear (i.e. blinds need fixed as cords are broken or don’t go down all the way, floors could use a deep clean, fridge water purifier need replacing, etc.), but it gets the job done fine. The fridge had a good ice maker to fill up our small cooler bag each morning and the unit cooled down well in the evenings. It also offered the right amount of space for our party of 2.We look past the cons as for us, the location of this unit to the Rosemary Beach town square and beach access (Walkover H and I) are really convinient and we come to Rosemary to either be at the beach or out enjoying the area. If this is your same idea, then this unit gets the job done for a reasonable price compared to other carriage house we priced during the May-23 time frame.The unit could house two couples easily, as the upstairs room has two double beds, more than this you would be cramped. The unit would also hold a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) easily, but mind the winding staircase to get to the second floor and staircase to get into the unit (+10 steps).We rate the unit 4 out of 5, based on the TLC needed, as we have stayed in other carriage houses that were in better shape and offered similar amenities, but overall we would stay in the unit again if available based on upon the location and reasonable price.Pros- Location to walkthroughs H and I- Location to town square- Comes with 2 bikes- Full size fridge with ice maker and water purifier- Two full baths- Good A/CCons- Lacks closet space; very small hanging area in each bedroom- No provided clothes hangers in unit- Minor TLC needed throughout unit- Lots of steps up to unit, but expected with carriage house unit- Pillows are flat and need replacing- Winding staircase to second floor (not suited for older guests or individuals

Great location but a tight squeeze!

Loved the location, but the place itself was very tight with the spiral staircase taking up a lot of the main room. The upstairs room with two full beds was especially cramped with very little room for one person, let alone the four that could conceivably stay up there. And there was no door to the upstairs bathroom -- only a shower curtain. So there wasn't much privacy! Plenty of towels and pillows, which was nice. Kitchen was well-stocked. Toilet paper was provided but you were on your own once it ran out!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our overall rating is good for the property - location and amenities were what we expected from a Rosemary Beach rental. Pictures of interior make property look somewhat nicer than it really was.. Property shows aging (furniture, paint, appliances) and could use an update. Some other items that brought down the overall satisfaction rating - no real closet space and no dedicated parking space which makes it very difficult to park nearby any time other than the morning. Property did allow less than 1-wk rental duration, which was a plus for us. We would recommend this property to friends with the understanding of some of the shortcomings. Location was excellent.
