This property was exactly as advertised. It was warm, accommodating, had everything you would need and more. I would highly recommend using this property for your stay in this area.

Delightful stay in Buckingham

We felt right at home in this light-filled house. It was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts quickly and cheerfully replied to our questions. We will stay here again the next time we visit Buckingham!

Lovely home

Our family stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday, and we had a wonderful time! The house is so well stocked and every detail has been thought out. Beds and bathrooms were very comfortable and we loved the large living area. The owner was very communicative and sent us lots of advice about the home and the area!

Perfect for family wedding venue near the property

The property provided everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time with our family members and the space was comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. We had a great walk over to the retreat center nearby where we saw deer and a spectacular view of the James River. For adventure and groceries we went to nearby Scottsville where we enjoyed dining and shopping. The wedding was wonderful and the property was perfect to reconnect with family during our stay.

Nature is beautiful

I stayed at Yogi's Paradise after visiting family in neighboring towns. The house was perfect. Very comfortable and clean with everything you'd need in the kitchen. The trees are so beautiful! I was blown away by how beautiful the area is and all of the deer I saw. In the mornings I would sit by the big windows and watch deer eat the grass.

Like Home

I was in town for business. The place was clean, homey and comfortable. I especially liked the lazy boy in the master bedroom. The property managers live below and helped me with shipping and receiving important packages while I was in town. I just can't say enough about how great this place was.

Blissful

My family booked this house because we booked a tubing trip down the James River with James River Runners. I grew up close to this area and this has been a tradition in my family since I was very small. We did not realize we were going to be staying in a meditation retreat. It was wonderful. Both my wife and I practice Transcendental Meditation and felt right at home. It was one of the most enjoyable and peaceful weekends we have ever had. We will always remember this weekend and look forward to making this a part of our tradition.

Outstanding

Beautiful, bright , clean and peaceful property. We came to attend a wedding in nearby Scottsville. We were very comfortable and felt well taken care of. The home was immaculate. One of the best rentals we have ever stayed in. The owner is very helpful and communicative. We especially enjoyed the front porch in the morning. Great outdoor spaces!! Also loved the soaker tub and shower in the master bedroom.We appreciated finding a place that fit our family of adults and that was pet free to avoid worrying about allergic reactions.We highly recommend staying here and would rent again if we return to the area.

Enjoyable stay in Buckingham

The house has an open layout giving it a spacious feeling. Plenty of big windows bring in lots of light as well as provide beautiful views of the surrounding woods. We stayed during a heat wave. The AC was wonderful. And when we had big thunderstorms and lost power on two nights, there is a backup generator for the house. It came on quickly and quietly. Three of the four bedrooms have king size beds, which is always nice. Two bedrooms are downstairs and two are upstairs. Upstairs has a large, carpeted room with two three-seater couches. It is perfect for lounging, playing with the grandkids or meditating. We did all three! The kitchen is modern and well appointed. A washer and dryer are also on the first floor. The master bath has both a large tub and an enclosed shower. Plenty of room to pamper yourself. The second bathroom, also on the first floor, is a more standard size with all new fixtures. Two porches (one out front and larger one off the Dining Room) are the perfect place to have your morning coffee or a quiet dinner. Our hosts couldn't have been more pleasant. They answered our questions quickly and cheerfully. We would stay in this house again!

Mixed Bag

The property is as you see it. It's spacious, clean, modern, with great light and a beautiful view of the sunrise. It's a 30 minute walk to the river in one direction and Yogaville in the other. It's comfortable and really has all that you need for a lovely time. So, why the 3 stars? I was literally contacted at least a dozen times from the time I made the reservation until check in. There was no need for that. I slept in the room nearest the heat pump and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner was running. It kept waking me up. There are a list of rules by the front door. It's "don't do this, don't do that." "Noise" hours are between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. because the caretaker lives downstairs and they can hear you. You can hear them. I felt like a naughty teenager trying not to disturb mom. There are also cameras all over. I would have used the porch, but there was no privacy. It's invasive. So, lovely property, but the vibe was one of distrust. I felt overly controlled and fearful of making a wrong move. It wasn't restful or relaxing at all. I get that you want your place to be safe and well cared for, but all the cameras and rules feel over the top.

After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following: - We want to clarify that we did not contact you a dozen times during your stay. Like with all our guests, we typically send a single email with an attached PDF containing important guest information as soon as we are notified of a booking. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding regarding communication. - We installed a six-foot folding metal gate in the closet to provide our guests with a secure space to hang their clothes and use the clothes hamper while also allowing us to safely store household supplies on the shelves. We apologize if this setup may have created any feelings of discomfort during your stay. - We are sorry that you found your sleep disturbed by unusual sounds and wish that you might have reported the problem as soon as you were experiencing loud mechanical noise. The HVAC that is outside and a floor below the main bedroom has been functioning normally, and the onsite host reported no unusual sounds. - The listing does mention the presence of three external security cameras so that our guests are fully informed before booking their stay. Once again, thank you for your review. Your feedback is valuable to us.

Wonderful! It was absolutely amazing. Quiet, calm, and relaxing. We have stayed 2 years in a row now and will make it an annual tradition.
