The largest house at Somerset Dam. Freshly renovated with all the mod cons whilst retaining the old-world charm.

The Schoolhouse is a part of Somerset Dam Village History!
The Old Schoolhouse was built in the 1930's and has been lovingly restored as a 5 bedroom vintage home. With high ceilings, spacious rooms, original timber floor, tongue and groove walls and lake-house, nautical decor it is a wonderful blend of the old and new.

The large well-appointed kitchen has everything you need for 16 guests, it opens onto a generous dining area and lounge with a magnificent cast iron fireplace to sit by on those chilly winter nights. With 5 separate bedrooms and enough beds to sleep 16, the Old Schoolhouse is the largest rental accommodation in the Village and can easily accommodate 4 families. Additionally, the property has zoned reverse cycle ducted air conditioning.

The perfect accommodation venue for Village weddings with Coronation Hall a short 3 minute stroll away. For the bride to be and her entourage what a fantastic place to prepare for that special day with a sensational backdrop to create lifelong memories. Or equally great for our Grooms and his boys and/or family to get ready.

For the water sports enthusiasts the spit is less than 5 minutes drive away. The property has a private hard stand at the rear for boats and jetskis and an undercover area for all your wet gear. Additional parking is available in the cul-de-sac.

The large verandah, outdoor dining and bar-b-que help you and your guests enjoy time away from the city and your busy lives. In a world that stops for no-one a stay at the Old Schoolhouse will take you back to a simpler time.

This is the most luxe, comfortable stay in Somerset Village for families in proximity to the dam. The most beautiful bedding, nautical decor renovated schoolhouse with character and room for many vehicles and boats, well-appointed kitchen and relaxation areas after long days boating on the dam. We will continue to kick off each year here with our family and friends with the excitement of the stay to look forward to all year. Itā€™s that good and you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous stay! The beds were comfortable and worked well with our extended-familyā€™s needs. The house was so well stocked with kitchenware and games and all. We loved that the outdoor table had enough space for the whole group. And it was close to the boat ramp for water fun. Thank you! *highly recommend*

The house was beautiful and lots of room for everyone. There was a lot of space for me and my bridal party to get ready the morning of our wedding. Highly recommend Nicoleā€™s home for a nice stay away even if it is not for a wedding

Best place to stay, very impressed how the school house is keeped as the school house. The school desk, which had colouring books and school activities for the kids, and some adults to do. Place was big enough for all family and friends that stayed for the wedding and entertainment area was big enough for our family dinner. Would absolutely stay again. Only down side would be we had to supply our own sheets and towels. Thank you for letting us stay at the school house while enjoying the history.

Fantastic property which fitted all the family from 70 down to 6. Property was as described and wonderful host provided lots of pantry extras. Utilised the outdoor fire pit and fireplace inside. Great time away thanks to such a brilliant stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay! The communal areas were perfect and the kitchen was well-equipped for group cooking. The bedrooms were comfortable/clean, and the kids enjoyed the outdoor spaces. Highly recommend this place for any group looking for a cozy and memorable winter escape. Weā€™re already talking about coming back next year!

Lovely and spacious accommodation

We booked this accommodation for family that were staying in town for a wedding and it was absolutely perfect. We were able to host a family breakfast around back in the morning at the BBQ and the facilities were excellent. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and couldn't have asked for a better spot. Somerset dam is a lovely village and would recommend this property. Nicki was also great to deal with and very accommodating. Thank you!

Fab getaway that feels like home

We def recommend Nickiā€™s place. From the moment you walk in it is setup so beautifully. So many thoughtful touches, games, kids toys & plenty of blankets & cushions. The kitchen is stocked with so many plates & cups + outdoor/BBQ plates too. We appreciated items in fridge /cupboard - so helpful. The beds are comfortable & we all slept well. We found it the perfect place to chill & relax for 3 nights. We even got small fireworks displays on 2 of the nights. We loved exploring Esk (20 mins) and went along to Toogoolawah (20mins) Christmas Tree event which was a good insight into a local community coming together for connection, markets, fireworks & fun. We def will try to get back. We loved our weekend away. Thanks again Nicki & family for sharing your space with others to make great memories. You are a great host who communicates so well.

Good weekend away. Walking distance to the general store and the old school house vibe is really cool. Awesome communal areas/bedrooms and verandah area. Everything was really well maintained and clean. Would go back with a speed boat

Wonderful

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Schoolhouse, which is beautifully presented, very comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. We were an extended family group of 10 adults in the area for a family wedding at Esk, and it was a perfect place to stay, out of town but only a short but pleasant drive from the venue. Nicki was super responsive to questions beforehand. We highly recommend the Schoolhouse and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

Amazing property

My friends and I stayed for a relaxed weekend away and this property was perfect. The rooms were lovely, beds super comfortable and it was equipped with everything you could think of. We even got to see a koala in the tree next door. I highly recommended this for your next holiday.

We are a family of 5 who enjoy all water sports. We have been coming to Somerset Dam for over 30 years and our boys have grown up on the lake.
We bought the Schoolhouse in June 2022 after many years searching for the perfect property for our large extended family.
We loved the history of the school and tried to retain that vintage feel as we renovated and updated.
Our boys our now adults and enjoy the schoolhouse with their wives and partners and our wonderful grandchildren.
We love to share our very unique space with other families as we know how hard it is to find a space where the whole family can be together. You can easily fit 4 families in the Schoolhouse and not be on top of each other. Be sure to check out the photos of our famous bunk room!!!
