4 Bedroom 3 Full Bath (5 beds total). Over 2600 square feet of living area. 1000 sq. ft. deck overlooking back yard. Deck also features a 5-person hot tub off master bedroom. Enjoy high speed internet, cable and 6 flat screen smart TVs with ROKU in upper & lower living areas, and in all 4 bedrooms. Full wet bar in lower living area, gas fireplace, and 3 video arcade games. Stationary exercise bike in Master bedroom, and 2 mountain bikes ready to hit the trails. Gas fireplace in the upstairs living room that includes a recliner, large sofa, loveseat. Large sectional in lower level and a full body massage chair. Spacious kitchen with gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher. Large upper & lower living spaces to unwind and relax. 2 car garage and spacious driveway. You will absolutely LOVE this cozy & spacious home on beautiful Granite Peak Ski Hill located next to some of Wausau's best dining and shopping venues!

Perfect for weekend ski trip!

This property exceeded our expectations for our girls weekend trip to granite peak and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The property was incredibly clean, had all of the amenities you could hope for and slept the 7 of us comfortably. The hot tub was amazing too! The property felt much larger than it appears in pictures, we were all blown away! Also, it is incredibly close to granite peak if you plan on skiing. Communication with the host was also great. Overall, we loved our weekend here and hope to come back and stay here again next year!

Excellent Property

I can’t say enough about this home! Extremely clean, easy to find things when needed, and the space was perfect for our family’s long weekend getaway! The darts and arcade games were a hit with our kids in their late teens and 20s, and the hot tub and massage chair were really a blessing for us older folks that just don’t recover as quickly anymore. This home is absolutely gorgeous, everything about it! We loved looking out back watching the deer and getting cozy with the fire place in the evenings. Great hospitality and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be returning!

Great House Near Granite Peak

This was an awesome place to stay with family and friends for a weekend of relaxation and skiing at Granite Peak. Really nice property. Very clean with lots of great amenities. Communication with host was very clear. Would definitely come back!

Snowboarding Trip with Friends

We had a wonderful time here! You really can't beat this location. It's extremely close in proximity to the ski resort and is an excellent place to chill and recover after a long day of runs (the massage chair and hot tub were the MVPs for sure). At night the basement offered a plethora of entertainment, we watched a few movies then played some heated matches for darts and puzzle fighter. The host was excellent at communication and the check in check out process was painless. Can't recommend this spot enough!

New Year's Eve 2023

We were a little hesitant booking here. Most of the reviews were from previous years...? We took a chance and it worked out, wonderfully! We skied 3 days, relaxed in the hot tub, played family games in the basement and had a functional kitchen for meals. Smart rental. Many nice touches by owner. Good job.

Family Ski Vacation

What lovely accommodations for our ski trip to Rib Mountain. We were so close to the ski resort and for those of us not skiing, so close to trails for snowshoeing or walking to the top of Rib Mointain to watch the skiers. The snow was beautiful! The hot tub is amazing! We had a fantastic time! Audrey was quick to respond whenever we needed her.

Great House In Serene Setting

Had a wonderful stay at Tony's house. Perfect location for outdoor activities -- great hikes up the mountain. Well-maintained house with functional layout for groups. We were visited by deer every morning while we sat outside and had our coffee.

Perfect Rental

We loved our stay in this beautiful home! We had plenty of space and we liked the option of hanging out either upstairs or in the basement. Hot tub worked great and we even saw some deer while relaxing on the deck. Perfect location...close to Granite Peak Ski Area/Rib Mountain State Park, as well as several restaurants/bars and grocery stores. Thank you, Tony, we had a great time in your rental!

Fabulous Ski Getaway

This is my families second time staying at this home and it was as wonderful as the first. It is the perfect place for a ski getaway. The home is beautiful, perfectly located, and wonderfully appointed. Highly recommended.

Awesome!

Spent a week in this home and loved every minute. Tony made the reservation and access simple. The house is really charming with fireplaces, comfy chairs, a game room and all the essentials to make for an enjoyable stay. We loved the families of deer outside the back door. We skied 5 days and the access to the mountain was very convenient. Our family has rented dozens of VRBO properties and this one ranks high. Very homey and comfortable with tons of character. Will definitely be back!

What can I say....AMAZING !!!!!!!

Stayed 8/10/17 for 5 days with my family for my sister's wedding which was on rib mountain. This home has everything you'll need and much more. A lot of space for everyone, close to stores and restaurants yet secluded enough that we had a family of deer visit us every day. They even had corn for us to feed the deer. If your thinking of renting this home do it, you won't regret it. Thank You for a perfect vacation !!!!!!

Best of the Best!

This home is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! We came to Wausau, WI to watch our son play college baseball, and fell in love with this home. Lots of room, and beautifully decorated. It is nestled in a state park area and the view is breath-taking - especially from the large deck at the back of the house. We were extremely comfortable and could not have enjoyed it more. It was a cabin feel with a lot of luxury. LOVED IT!!!

Amazing Weekend Getaway!

We stayed in this house over President's Day weekend 2017. We were two families with 2 kids each (ages ranged 8-12), so we were 8 people in total. The house was perfect for our needs! Everyone slept very comfortably. The kids absolutely loved the basement/rec room with the video games, huge TV and comfy bean bag chairs. It was such a great space for them to hang out while the adults enjoyed some peace and quiet upstairs! The location was also perfect. We specifically came up to ski at Granite Peak, which is less than 5 minutes away. On the second day, we even started our day off skiing from the top of the mountain, which is just a short 2 minute drive up the road. We also loved that the house is on the mountain with lots of privacy and woods all around. Watching the deer come right up to feed was such a treat! The kids used the hot tub both days after skiing and loved it. It looked so relaxing that the adults all wished that we had brought our swimsuits too! Lastly, Tony (the owner) was fabulous and very welcoming. He met us at the house and walked us through everything. He even checked in on us over the weekend to make sure everything was going well. We would definitely come back again!

Stunning property with gorgeous views

Beautiful accommodations! Bathrooms feel like we were at a SPA and beds have incredible mattresses. Every room felt cozy and like you wanted to just relax. Nice touches w fireplace upstairs & downstairs. Stunning kitchen! Owner was there to greet us and show us the house. So incredibly friendly and accommodated our needs. Hot tub was spectacularly maintained and at night the view of the forest was incredible. Fun game table for the kids and plenty of room to spread out. Deer feeders out back and plenty of bird watching. Only 8-10 minutes away from Granite Peak for skiing, so u can come home easily for meals. We will definitely return to Wausau and stay at this property! SPECTACULAR stay because of the owner.

Fantastic home and Very Gracious Owner

Our family decided to take a trip up North, from the Chicago area, for a few days over the Holiday Break. Although it was extremely cold, we were warm and toasty in Tony's home. Tony met us at the home when we arrived and took great care in showing us around the house and provided guidance on usage of the various electronics and other particulars. Tony even laid out corn for the deer that came into the back yard to feed at dusk--yes, multiple, beautiful deer ran up at sunset. Our children were absolutely thrilled, as were we. You truly are surrounded by nature and feel at home at this house. The bed coverings throughout the house were so soft and luxurious. Sleeping here was a treat for all of us. While my husband and I did not venture to the hot tub in the extreme cold, our children LOVED it! If only it weren't below zero I would have been it in it for sure! It is quite large and has multiple jets throughout. Tony texted us just to be sure all was going well during our stay and was always willing to accommodate us. I definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from the city or just interested in a change of pace. The skiing was super close and good for the Midwest and it looks like there is plenty to do in the summertime, as well. Thanks, again, to Tony for making our holiday get away a success for all!

Perfect place for family and friends getaway.

We stayed in this house for NY 2017 Holiday. The house is great, fresh remodeled, clean and has a lot of entertainment options. The Granite Peak ski resort is around the corner and the shopping mall is in less than a mile. If you need to buy extra food or cloth the location is very convenient. The house owner Tony is super friendly and nice man. He met us at the property and showed all rooms and surround area what was very useful and saved us a time. Tony is open man and he is always welcome to help with any needs. Thank you Tony!!! The property has a natural gas grill what we connected to the gas line. We used grill to cook meat and I will say that it worked perfect. Wild animals come to the house time by time, they are not scared of humans, so it's kind of fun for kids and even adults to watch deers, squirrels,etc. There is a luxury hot tub with the internal lights and massage jets and the water temperature never dropped lower then 103F with opened top, what allowed us to spend a lot of time in the tub while it was cold outside 17F-24F. One time we were sitting in the hot tub without lights and we saw wild deers coming so close to us, so fun. The house is located in very quite place and the backyard is actually where Mount Rib starts. The view is very beautiful.. right into the forest. There are enough space for two cars in garage and 3-4 cars on a drive way. We enjoyed our stay and would like to recommend this place for people who is coming to Wausau or Granite Peak area.

Great Granite Peak Ski getaway! December 2016

After a recommendation from a family member to bring our children (ages 12 and 9) to Granite Peak over their winter break, we looked into the hotel options in the area. While there are several options close to the Granite Peak Ski area, none are all that great. When you consider all of the ski gear and "stuff" that comes with a family of 4, a tiny room isn't so appealing. Then we asked my sister and her family to join us...so now our crew doubled in size to 8. We have had great experiences using VRBO in other parts of the country, and this was no exception. There were not too many options for our large group and so last minute, when this home popped up as an option and it was exactly what we were looking for, we booked right away. With 4 spacious bedrooms, everything newly remodeled and clean, it was far nicer than any hotel room we could have booked. The owner, Tony, met me at the property upon check-in to walk me through the home and showed me how to use the tv's, fireplaces, appliances, etc. He was so kind and excited to share his home with our families. Being new to VRBO, he was very open to suggestions and feedback, and even checked in with me during our stay to be sure we were comfortable. We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy games, reading and relaxing after a long day of skiing. We were able to cook our own meals (the kitchen appliances are brand new and so nice!) It was also a bonus to be able to enter into the laundry area through the garage to remove all of our cold weather gear. The view out the back of the house was stunning! A stark contrast to the city life we live in Chicago. We even had several deer stop to visit one night...a real treat for us all! The kids loved warming up in the hot tub after skiing, surrounded by snow and nature! The house itself is so lovely and the location is just amazing. Located at the base of Rib Mountain, just a 3 minute drive up Park Road and you are at the drop-off for several of the Granite Peak Ski chair lifts. In fact, I dropped my husband and 2 kids off at the top of the hill one morning so that they could get a jump on their day, having already purchased their lift tickets online for the week (something we highly recommend). Given the home's proximity to all of the state park's amenities, I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer months as well! Grab some friends and head to Wausau to ski Granite Peak for a long weekend or week and stay here!
