Eden Villa is a spacious, in-town Bar Harbor home within walking distance of everything downtown. It is located within a quick walk of the grocery store. It is on a quiet non-throughway avenue and allows for some peaceful enjoyment from the downtown hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor in the summertime. Guests can walk to restaurants, shops, and activities easily. This includes whale watching, bike rentals, and kayaking sea tours. It is also a 3 minute walk to the sandbar. It is easy to go to dinner and just stroll home - no need to drive anywhere. The entrance to Acadia National Park is very close by.

This 3 story, five bedroom home features two king bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom that also has a futon. There are couches and armchairs in the living room and high speed internet and cable TV with a DVD player. The house can accommodate a maximum of 9 guests. There are 2 bathrooms (one full, and one with only a shower). Large fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities: oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, cookware and dining ware. The Dining Area Lounge has Air Conditioning lower level This house has a large spacious private back deck which has a propane BBQ and outdoor dining for 6 or more.

Other amenities include a washer and dryer, off street parking for up to 4 cars at a squeeze (which is an added benefit because parking in downtown Bar Harbor is all metered and can get expensive) and a fenced landscaped yard.

Property was constructed in 1922.

Bookings are 7 day periods Saturday to Saturday.

We had a fantastic stay at this home! It was fully equipped with everything we needed and offered plenty of space to relax. The private backyard was a peaceful retreat, and the location was perfect—we could walk to everything!

Quiet place downtown

This is a lovely property in the heart of downtown. Its tucked on a side street so its nice and quiet, but its steps away from the grocery store and resturants. If you want a place downtown this a great place to be.

Excellent week in Bar Harbor!

Our family of 6 adults enjoyed our stay at the property very much! It was well-equipped and in a fantastic location for easy access to downtown, including rhe sand bar, and within a short drive to Acadia National Park. Being able to park the 3 cars on property was a huge benefit, as was the private deck with plenty of seating (and from which we could watch the hummingbirds and other birds). We look forward to a return visit some day!

We had a great stay in Bar Harbor. We lived being close to everything in town including the grocery store! It was great to have our own parking spot in the driveway. The window fans kept the air circulating well. The owners were responsive to texts and helpful.

Great for a large family

The location is fabulous especially in such a walkable town! Beautiful older home, we stayed there a few months ago but my kids still talk about this house when we discuss our Acadia trip! It worked well for our family of 8!

Great place

We enjoyed our stay here. Modern appliances and lots of cooling fans that really worked. A limitation (as the listing indicates) is that although there is lots of room and comfortable beds for 9 people, there are only two bathrooms.

Practically Perfect in Every Way!

The property was clean, spacious and the kichen well stocked. It was perfect for the 5 of us. Location is ideal in relation to town, farmers market, restaurants, grocery store and harbor. We definitely will rent again.

The house was just perfect! Appreciate how clean the house was, kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels and comfortable beds. You can tell Jeff and Lesley take good care of their property and paid attention to detail, right down to the fire plan. LOCATION, was a dream! Walking to the grocery store only a few feet away and being in a quiet area of town was amazing. Walking to town to go for morning coffee, shopping or talking a stroll on the shore path was such a plus. Entrance to Acadia was very close making it easy to make multiple trips there. Good restaurants in town and number one place was Travelin Lobsta only 15 minutes out of town. We were so lucky to stay at this home. Highly recommend!

Family Fun in Bar Harbor

My family really enjoyed our stay at ‘Eden Villa’ during our vacation in Bar Harbor. We were able to easily walk to all locations in Bar Harbor and the drive to Acadia was short. The house was comfortable for 9 adults and 2 kids. We really liked being able to eat and enjoy family time on the lovely deck. There were plenty of towels and bedding. It was nice to have access to laundry in the basement.

Adult family vacation close to the action.

This was a great space. The property was true to the online description. Plenty of lounging areas and separate spaces for a big group to gather or be alone. I loved all the little extras they had in the kitchen as far as utensils, pots pans. Tissue boxes and small bins in each room, scrap paper and pens, etc

Great location with lots of beds

We had a great stay here over the 4th of July week. The location was a highlight. It was busy in town but we didn’t have to worry about finding parking because we could walk to the food store, restaurants, Main Street shops, the land bridge, and the harbor. We fit 2 SUVs in the driveway. There were plenty of beds for our family and the kids enjoyed the deck. The house has everything you might need. There was one hot/humid day where the upstairs bedrooms got toasty during the day but the fans did work to pull in the cool air in the evening. There are 2 full bathrooms on the second floor, but for older adults it would have been nice to have another half bath on the first floor, or up with the 3rd floor bedrooms.

Great vacation family home

Warm inviting comfortable home with plenty of room for 10. Large family and dining rooms. Wonderful location downtown on dead end street steps away from all shopping and eateries. Quiet neighborhood. Abundance of hummingbirds. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Plenty of hot water for showers. Outside deck with large grill met our needs nicely. Just a very relaxing home to return to at the end of a busy day in Town or in the Park. I've been coming to the Island for 20 yrs plus and this is the most comfortable I've been. We will absolutely return again..thanx Jeff

Great location and responsive owners

Great location to walk to restaurants, the grocery store, Agamont Park, etc. The house had plenty of room for our group of 7. The full sized washer and dryer was great to have. The grill on the back deck was clean and easy to use. It was unseasonably warm during the daytime during our week in early July. The air conditioner in the dining room takes the edge off the summer heat on the first floor, though it did get quite warm on the upper floors during the day. Using the provided window fans at night to draw in the cool night air made it nice and cool while sleeping. Our group did have to space out our showers to make sure we all had hot water, but that is understandable with a group our size. The home was exactly as described in the listing, and the owners Jeff and Lesley replied very quickly to all our questions. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Comfortable large bar harbor house

A nice older but well kept bar harbor home that met all our needs and was even nicer than we expected. We had plenty of space for our extended family of 6 adults and 2 kids with room to spare. The house pretty much has everything you would want. As noted, it is worth knowing that there is no bathroom on the 1st floor, both of the baths are the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor has 2 large rooms each with a queen or king bed plus another single or double cot or futon while the 2nd floor has one master suite plus 2 rooms with 2 single beds.Nice deck in back. The location is great - 1 minute walk to the supermarket and 5 mins to Main Street, restaurants, etc and the village green where you can catch the island explorer bus to the park (free) and avoid the hassle of driving into Acadia. Owner was very responsive to inquiries before we booked and easily available if needed during the stay (we had no need to contact him). Certainly would recommend to others.

Great vacation!

The house was exactly as listed. It is an older home but maintained well. The house has three floors, bedrooms on the third floor got a little hot, there is no air conditioning but lots of fans, plan accordingly as they do allow you to bring your own a/c.

Great Place in Bar Habor

We had a great vacation at Eden Villa. The house is well equipped for families. Check in was easy and we communicated with Jeff easily. No issues except a heat wave in Bar Harbor the first 2 days we were there. We had lots of fans, but it was still really hot. House is centrally located to downtown Bar Harbor - only a 5 minute walk and 10 minutes to the entrance to Acadia. Thanks for a great stay!

Charming and convenient!

From the moment we pulled up all I could think was charming! Wonderful old house well maintained and decorated. Enough room for all, enough parking for our 2 large rental suvs and easy walking to the grocery store or downtown. Very nice deck and little garden area. We were 7 adults and 1 1yo and we loved our stay here. The dryer did stop working on us but they replaced it with a brand new one the next day. Very responsive and helpful owners.

We first visited Mount Desert Island in 1981 with our children and fell in love with Acadia National Park and the town of Bar Harbor. We came back in 1998 and we still had the same love for everything, so we ended up buying this home so we could be downtown and close to the park entrance. Our son was married at Thunder Hole in Acadia Park and lives on the island with his wife and daughter.

We enjoy the trails, hikes, lakes and ocean - actually we love everything Bar Harbor has to offer. We have done a lot of hikes and have even climbed the Precipice, but came back down the easy way :). Our son has created a YouTube channel with videos of some of the trails if you want to check out some of the hikes before you go. Look up Acadia365 on YouTube for great hiking information.

We hope you enjoy the house and its location. You can walk to almost every restaurant, store and bar in town without the need to drive and as you will soon discover parking is at a premium and can get costly!

Bar Harbor is a gem and we hope that you too fall in love with the island. Come and enjoy "The most Beautiful Island in America".

Just come have a good time without the need to drive everywhere. This house has a safe garden/backyard for little people and pets, so sit back relax and enjoy the town of Bar Harbor at it's best!
