Lazy Bear Lodge Cabin is an authentic hand-hewn log cabin nestled in the woods between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The location, while remote, is convenient to both Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Drive time to the center of Gatlinburg is 15 minutes, the center of Pigeon Forge is 15 minutes, and the entrance to the National Park is 15 minutes. The Arts and Crafts community, Rocky Top Sports World, and East Gatlinburg are a short 5-10 minute drive away.

We loved the cabin. The drive was also close to town but also felt the cabin was surrounded by woods.

Hot tub wouldn’t heat, only filled half way with water. Reset it as I was instructed by the owner— still did not heat. It wasn’t the cleanest— saw several cockroaches. Crockpot posted in pics was not there. Oven was very slow to heat and made thanksgiving harder. I wouldn’t stay again

Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Loved the location and had plenty of room for family. Host communicated very well in answering any questions before trip.

This was a church ladies retreat…there were several issues that need to be addressed before the next person stays there…#1.. roaches…#2.. only 2 rolls of toilet tissue (there were 9 ladies) we would have brought some if we had known.. we DID buy some..#3…no mirrors in the bedrooms.. only over the sink in the bathrooms… #4.. not enough towels… we had to wash towels in order for the next person to take a bath…#5 … floor under the table had not been swept…#6…coffee pot did not work… #6… tub upstairs gurgling.. may become a plumbing issue…#7…need to have more hanging racks to put towels etc..#8… can of BED BUG spray was under the sink… ladies became very concerned…hopefully this was only a spray to use after each guest as a precaution for the next guest… but..seriously… all in all… loved the place… just listed these as something to check out before it gets too far … some ok f the ladies used the hot tub and loved it.. we did see a bear one evening by the car …

The cabin was perfect for a much needed vacation with our teenage daughters. Everyone comfortably had their own space and we enjoyed relaxing at the cabin as much as we did doing many things the area has to offer. Would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to relax and enjoy family time.

Family of 8 vacation

The stay was amazing!The cabin was big enough for our entire party of 8.A plus that they allowed us to bring our small dogs. Some things in the pictures online listing have changed but it’s obvious the owner has done some renovating on this cabin due to the cleanliness of the cabin. Check in was a breeze and the owner/manager was easy to contact and handled any situations or questions with accuracy. Just be prepared to see some bears while visiting although they never bothered us we could sit on the back porch and see them walking in the wooded area. Hot tub was clean upon arrival.My kids and teens enjoyed playing pool every night.The road is a little steep and curvy but that is expected in the mountains. Overall great stay.

The location is secluded and inviting. The cabin is nice and offers excellent accommodations for a family. We encountered a few issues during our stay, but the owner is very responsive and went above and beyond to make things right. Tennessee is amazing and offers activities for the nature minded and social butterflies as well. We look forward to returning in the future.

Good for the price

Overall is was fine. We Really enjoyed the firepit. Kids really enjoyed the xbox. There is no hot tub in the bedroom upstairs which the pictures showed there was no basketball game downstairs which pictures showed. Every bed in the place was uncomfortable. The couch in living room sinks in because of pull out bed. The pool table we didnt even use because its not in good condition. It was fine for what we paid i just expected more.

Loved it!

We had so much fun! There is plenty of room for everyone. The pool table was a favorite! The back deck is beautiful. I got to see my first wild bear! Would definitely stay here again!

Not as Advertised

To start with the property was dirty. Second, the property was not as advertised. It said it had a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. No tub whatsoever. When I contacted the host , no big deal. I think they call that bait and switch. The vents for the heat & a/c were not attached to the floor in the bathroom and kitchen. Someone is going to get hurt, so now the person that gets hurt has documentation that the owner knows about them. The living room furniture is wore out. The hot tub does not work properly. In general the property is just run down.

Lazy Bear Lodge is an authentic hand hewn log cabin built in the 90s. I have newer and nicer cabins but this one is special. It sits back in the woods off of the main roadway so it gives you a feeling of privacy but you are not all alone. My family and I spent Thanksgiving here this past year and we all, agreed that this one was one of our favorites.
