My family just returned from a week's stay at Ships Ahoy. All communications with the host were prompt. Check in/out was seemless.

Our stay at Ships Ahoy was just as expected and more. The home is nicely decorated and had adequate sleeping for everyone. There were wagons to take all your belonging to the beach. 2 beach chairs , beach toys , baby float and shovels. The only problem that we found and it had nothing to do with the house, was the bugs were eating some of us alive on the deck. Take some bug spray if they like you!The walk to the beach was not to bad. The local store was about .5 miles away if you needed somethingHad an issue with the dishwasher and it was quickly taken care of Marge and Rays's had great crab cakes and reasonable priced drinks . Thanks for letting us stay are your lovely beach homePP

You came at a time where we experienced an inordinate amount of rain and the bugs were bad at that time. That is not the norm, but we thank you for making the best of it. Please come back again soon!

Property is very nice. Spacious. Tastefully decorated. Lots of porches. Multiple hang-out areas. Thoughtful design. Pool area is inviting. The property description underpromises in some ways. There are at least two keurigs and a regular coffee maker. There IS actually a bathtub (important for littles). The kitchen offers some basic seasonings, oils, vinegars…and lots of gear. Phenomenal. The garage had two carts and a number of boards and noodles. I brought and rented stuff that we didn’t need. Pool heat was not very warm. For 400 extra we had hoped for warmer. Not much swimming last week with the lower temps, wind, and cool water (that has to be replenished by hose 1-1 1/2 hours per day). Slight sliver of beach view. If you need an elevator this place is amazing. If you don’t, you might find something closer to the water for a similar price. The newness is very appealing, though. We have allergies and it was great to be in a clean, dry, tidy, comfortable environment. Our group was very pleased.

The pool heat can be an issue with inclement weather as the pool temperature will not rise above nightly lows as the heat radiates out during conditions like you experienced. Home Away From Home

We stayed in the Ships Ahoy home from Saturday to Saturday during our children’s Spring Break. We were told that we were the first to rent this home. The size of the home was spacious and accurate to the advertisement. The home was very clean and brand new. The rooms are spacious and each room has a perfect size bathroom. The kitchen and dining area was my favorite part of the home. Plus the upstairs sitting area. The pool was open for our use even though per my contract it stated it would be closed. So we weren’t able to fully prepare to bring pool items and pool clothes. More importantly I would have like to pre-pay to hear the pool. It was a pleasant surprise that it was open, but I wasn’t prepared for it. The home is walking distance to the Beach and the water is pretty for Virginia Beach. The sand was clean too. The area is quite and not much riff-raff which is good because you felt safe. The locals aren’t as friendly as I would hope, but that didn’t ruin our trip. This home is great for families and Adults only. I pleased that every room had a beautiful Smart TV and the living room has surrounded sound in the ceiling. The kitchen was beyond stocked with cooking and eating supplies. You have to bring your own spices. GREAT HOME!!!!!! The Property Management Team sent me daily text of great information or just to check on me. I appreciate it very much. I will be happy to rent from them again. .

The property was very nice. Kitchen was well equipped, large eating area, nice pool. Very clean and comfortable. I definitely would recommend this property. Very easy walk to the beach. One downfall, the road is very busy.
