Beach is great, Fort Morgan was ok. The house however is in desperate need of a legitimate renovation. It’s obvious that the property owners bought it, did a bare minimum flip and listed it for rent. The trim and paint are cracked and peeling in areas. A towel rack was hanging off the wall in the upstairs bathroom and not functional. The doors had been painted and there was dirt or mold (who knows) on the trim. The bathroom door upstairs wouldn’t latch let alone lock and weather stripping was missing or damaged at the main entry. The deck was severely weathered but painted over and the railing was loose. The stairs outside felt unsafe and definitely were not to code as each tread had a significant slope. The hvac system couldn’t cool the upstairs rooms effectively which made sleeping uncomfortably warm. Oh, and there is a hump in the floor behind the brown couch that multiple people in our party, including my kids tripped on repeatedly…

Loved the location

The property was clean and mostly updated and the location was great. However it was hard to keep the upstairs cool and a few minor items needed attention.

What an amazing place to stay!

I found this home on VRBO. I was so excited to be on the beach for this get a way! The stay was absolutely perfect! It was clean, comfortable and exactly as advertised! I will be back!

Stayed with my husband and my brother for a week in July 2025. Property is located directly on the beach, which is mostly quiet and clean. Renters should be advised that Fort Morgan is a beach with views of huge oil platforms and tankers offshore. If you want more pristine views of the horizon, definitely consider Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. I have to say, I cannot imagine that this house would fit nine people (definitely not adults!) by any stretch of the imagination. The rooms are very small, as are the beds, other than the master. The upstairs bathroom needs a lot of help, the toilet seat is broken and it could definitely use a new showerhead. Overall, this house needs some attention. As another renter mentioned, the air conditioner does not keep the upstairs cool. We were freezing on the first level and sweating on the second. An outdoor shower would be a wonderful addition rather than just a cut off hose for rinsing. We have been vacationing in the area for the past 20 years, and prices have skyrocketed. I wouldn’t mind paying more for the quality we used to get, but quality has also diminished, which is discouraging. Regardless, we had an absolutely wonderful time because we all love the ocean, but we would probably not rent this property again.
