We had a wonderful stay. The communication and the guestbook were wonderful. The view was gorgeous and the property was clean and comfortable.

I gave this property four stars mainly because the curb appeal could use some attention. The tall grass in front of the house should be trimmed, and the keypad entry was difficult to locate due to the clutter around the hot tub and the door’s location.That said, the property itself was exceptionally clean and incredibly well equipped. Everything we needed was provided, including large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in all three bathrooms, dishwasher supplies, trash bags, paper towels, and more.The kitchen was especially well stocked, with a drip coffee maker, Keurig, French press, coffee beans, filters, and a grinder. Basic spices and olive oil were also provided, along with plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, and silverware. A highchair, playing cards, board games, and puzzles were thoughtful extras.The sunsets overlooking Charlestown were fantastic, and the fire pit was a wonderful place to relax. Firewood was provided, although the logs need to be split, so bring an axe or your own firewood.Overall, this was one of the cleanest and best-equipped places I’ve ever stayed, and I would definitely consider returning

This was a beautiful house, but it really needs love. This was a fall getaway for myself and a few of my girlfriends and a hot tub was a requirement for the property we rented; therefore, this was going to be a treat for us. However, the hot tub was extremely filthy as if it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival or in months. When I expressed to the host that the hot tub was dirty, his/her response was more about the cleanliness of the water versus the dirt rings, scum and dirt inside and around the tub. I even sent pictures of the scum and again, the response was about the cleanliness of the water because his/her solution was to add OxySpa to the water instead of the host sending someone to thoroughly clean the filthy hot tub. Needless to say this put a damper on our stay because this was to be apart of our relaxation. Additionally, after removing the bedding from the bed we discovered stained pillow cases and mattress covers. Prior to pulling the bedding we discovered stained bedding. The stairs were dirt stained, most of the doors were dirt stained, and the living room ottoman was stained as well.

Short Stay

My boyfriend and our friends stayed here for a quick weekend trip for a wedding. The house was very cozy with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL view. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Long weekend in the mountains

Stayed for an extended weekend over Labor Day. The views from the deck were amazing. The cabin was clean, modern and beautiful. Was everything we needed and wanted.

Great DC-area getaway spot

My wife and I booked this house as a fall getaway from the DC area. The house was nice and modern, great kitchen, and amazing view of the Shenandoah river valley. Also very close to Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown. Quiet neighborhood. We had a great time!

Girls weekend

Great property! Beautiful views! Was perfect for hanging out with friends and just relaxing. We were there for two nights and stayed in for dinner both nights. Well equipped kitchen…they even had a fondue pot!! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Wonderful extended weekend in the mountains!

Cozy cabin with beautiful views! House was nicely furnished with everything needed for a pleasant stay. House looks exactly like the pics! Owners were very responsive and check in was so easy! House is at the top of a mountain so be prepared!

A beautiful getaway

The Wolf Den was exactly as described. Beautiful setting, quiet, private. It has a great view of the valley from the deck and the two-story windows in the great room. A real gas range in the kitchen--so rare to find these days! We will come back for another stay.

Beautiful views

The interior design was done very well with every accommodation needed. Sunsets were phenomenal. The property itself could be transformed by adding a hot tub, outdoor grill, fire pit with seating and updating the paint and landscaping.

Fantastic stay!

We had an amazing weekend at the cabin. The house is beautiful and so were the views! I loved the layout of the house, because it really allowed for us to socialize and also do our own thing. The only comment we had was that the automated faucet in the kitchen was sometimes hard to use, but we figured it out! I will definitely book again with Mountain Mama Cabins!

It was ok. To get entry code one day ahead, I had to call. Customer service is awesome. Spoke to Westa, she was very helpful. Initially right after checking in there was some odor a, house is lot opened for a while. AC was irregular- cold in 1st level but feel hot upper levels. One would feel cold air hitting feet while standing near kitchen sink! Bathroom were new. Not extra towels or sheets! Kitchen is well stocked with utensils.we left specula/ tongs as well. Outside grill was disaster. We had to cook in oven inside. There are obnoxious fees invented to squeeze clients. It seemed expensive for 1 grand for 2 nights..

Thanks for the detailed feedback — we appreciate you taking the time to share what went well and where we fell short. Sorry for the hassle with the entry code. Our standard process is to send check-in details the d ay before arrival, but somehow that did not happen. Glad Westa was able to help. I’m sorry about the odor when you arrived, but we have not had any similar issues before or since. We're continuing to monitor that. I’m sorry the grill was not perfectly clean before you checked in. We have since thoroughly cleaned and serviced so guests can use it reliably going forward. Regarding fees and pricing: the total you pay includes cleaning costs plus any platform service fees, and those amounts are shown during checkout. We aim for transparent pricing and will continue reviewing our nightly rates to stay competitive for the area and season. We appreciate the honest review — it helps us prioritize improvements.

Spectacular View

Overall good experience. Home was in good condition. Bugs were an aggravation so I would suggest having the home exterminated asap. Master bed frame kept coming apart so I would suggest replacing the current one.

Great stay for family of four

Great communication with the host. Everything was as it was represented in the description and the photos. Beautiful view!! We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely use this host again. The only downside of this property was that the first level was basically the basement level and it felt like a basement where as true rest of the property was warm and inviting, this area wasn’t so much. A little work on the landscaping would making this a true gem!!! All that being said, we loved it and like mentioned earlier…. Would definitely use this host again!

Amazing view and well appointed home. We had everything we needed and plenty of space to relax and spread out in. Loved the loft bedroom and fire pit - but the best part was the sunset right out front.
