The Host was attentive and the house was adorable. We walked up to the nearby pizza place /coffe shop (Sunny’s) which was great. Overall very convenient and just what we were looking for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay!! All the creature comforts of home away from home. The house was super clean, lots of options for shopping, dining and sightseeing within minutes of the house. The owners are close by and readily available by text should you have any questions. We plan on visiting every year and hope to make this our regular stay.

Quiet neighborhood not far from the city. Bus stop at the top of the street, beach and marina at the bottom. Host very available and accommodating.

Hidden storybook cottage in quiet neighborhood. Nooks and crannies full of art and personality. Lots of stairs will lead to beautiful views out of every window.

Everything needed was available. The listing of shops nearby very useful. The larder in the kitchen was amazing.All the rooms were very clean.

Absolutely everything; kitchen larder, bathrooms living room upstairs was completely stocked. Much more thought has gone into providing an excellent stay than could have been anticipated. Since I travel to Seattle to see family once or twice every year, this is where I will try to stay.

House was great, with lots of little eclectic touches. Loved all the garden figures and fruit trees. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay! The manager was amazing! Very responsive. House was beautiful and very clean. So many game and outside games. We all enjoyed our stay very much!

We loved Happy Valley House

We went to a wedding in Ballard and this was the perfect place to stay. The owners were very accomodating and the house itself had so much to offer. Our stay will be a part of fond memories for years to come.

Note to other readers: our place is a perfect place for weddings down at Golden Gardens, a lovely place for a wedding with the backdrop of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. Our house is literally a minute's drive from the beach (a 20-minute walk down steep stairs), and our back patio can accommodate groups of 20-25."

Charming house - Great location

My husband and I made a short trip to Seattle to visit our daughter and this house was perfect! Very well stocked with eclectic decor and tons of charm. Excellent location and easy check in and check out process. Highly recommend!

Happy Valley

We loved this house! It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect and the neighborhood was very quiet. It was great to be able to walk for coffee and to the beach. Thank you to the hosts for letting us stay in their awesome home.

Beautiful and Welcoming

The cottage was perfect for our family, from games and toys for the children to thoughtful amenities for the adults. The hosts provided helpful instructions for everything and were responsive to our questions. The cottage was beautiful and we would like to stay again on our next visit to the Seattle area.

Nice stay at a quaint house.

Jon was very good at communicating details before and during our stay, which we appreciated. This ended up being a better location than we first thought - once we discovered the 17 bus stopped at a nearby corner and helped with the commute to the downtown area. Be prepared for stairs - we knew there were stairs from the pictures and description, but didn't realize there were quite so many to get into the house!

From the owner: "We're glad the location worked out better than you thought! We do try and communicate lots of details, etc., as that is how we like to be treated when traveling. Plus, if we didn't send out information beforehand, many of our guests would get lost finding our place, as it can be a little tricky (we can't tell you how many Uber drivers have gotten lost!). I guess we need to make clear that there are bus lines close by—there are several bus lines within a 5-block walk. And yes, for those reading this, we do have a number of stairs, but we do hope you'll find it's worth it! We do hope you'll consider staying with us whenever you are in Seattle."

Enjoyable getaway

My son, daughter-in-law, their 14 month old toddler and I stayed at this lovely home. It was very comfortable and everything was provided for our needs. It did take a little bit of baby proofing for a one-year-old on the move, but it was well worth it. it was close to everything we wanted to do, including a trip to the zoo

Happy valley house

cute, nice house on nice property, with a qwerky flare, but very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. well decorated, plenty of sleeping room for families, or friends. Owners were very available for questions.

Check in was easy. We appreciated Jon's more detailed description of how to get to the house. Be prepared for stairs - a few more than we anticipated. Jon was very good with communications.

Very seamless process for check-in. Very responsive by text to any needs. Fun decorations and random themes. Cozy home. Only recommendation is to replace the stove. Thank you

Hi Todd,Thanks so much for the 5 stars! 😊 We agree the stove is small and replacing it was on our original to-do list—but it turns out this type (left handed, drop in, downdraft) isn’t made anymore, and swapping it would mean major kitchen reconstruction. A few chefs have told us it’s actually great quality, so for now it’s our little retro workhorse. We truly appreciate your understanding and your kind words! Really Fun Place!

This was our second time staying at Happy Valley, and it was just as great as the first time! Jon & Kara are very responsive hosts, and try their best to think of all the little things that go into making a great experience for their guests. We loved having a nice outdoor area and plenty of room to stretch out inside as well. This is not a cookie-cutter hotel type of place; instead, it is a house filled with color, creative personality, nice furnishings and a sense of humor. It is a very special place!
