Sweetly retro on the outside, this beach-side cottage has been fully updated for beauty and convenience inside, making it a cozy, rejuvenating space for enjoying time at the beach just steps away from the ocean. With two bedrooms, Driftwood is an excellent spot for a small family or group of friends to gather. With thoughtful updates designed for comfort, this historic cottage has all-new flooring and exquisite tongue-in-groove planked and vaulted ceilings, Smart TVs in the living room and bedrooms, and dining space alongside the kitchenette. A picnic table outside extends your dining space. Two cozy queen bedrooms, one with a vaulted wood ceiling, share a bath.

If you want to invite more friends or family, three other cottages, Beach Bliss, King Tide, and Ocean Break, are available right next door—all with the same fantastic updates. Look up King Crab if you’d like to rent all four for a special reunion of friends and family. All are just steps to miles of level sand at Rockaway Beach. Beachcomb to your heart’s content, try crabbing from the jetty, do some freshwater fishing on Lake Lytle, or just soak in the sun, wind and sky. A trip into town will reward you with whimsical shopping and delicious dining. The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad travels along the coast from Rockaway Beach to Garibaldi with open-air cars drawn by a steam engine, a unique and delightful way to see this rugged stretch of coastline. Access easy day trips to the North and Central Coast’s towns, hikes, and beaches from this sweet, fully updated cottage.

The property was nice and close to the beach with easy access. Very pet friendly with wood floors and was nice and clean. It would be nice to have enough coffee and/or tea for a day or two. Nice place! I'd say again!

We loved how close it was to the beach! House was cute and small. Everything was clean and nice. Quiet area. Only things that were inconvenient was:-Being close to the beach sand gets tracked in and there was no broom to sweep (only a dustpan) and a vacuum that didn’t work to suck up the sand. -There is an oven but not a single pan of any type to use in it! We wanted to make nachos but no pans (minus one that was like 3x3 inches - much too small to use). -No cheese shredder-With how small the bedrooms and bathroom are, with hardly any floor space it would be really nice to have some hooks on the walls or doors to hang stuff on.

Not Happy

The cabin was cute and modern; however there is no closet or a single hook to hang any clothes in either bedroom. There is barely room for a suitcase on the floor. Kitchen is stocked with bare necessities. The cabin is located next to Hwy 101. On the day of check-in, I received a text from Meredith Lodging saying I had to wait until 6pm to check-in (my check-in time was to be 4pm). I asked for a later check-out time on the day I was to leave but was denied - even though there was no one staying that night (I checked the availability). When I arrived at 630p for check in, the cleaning person was still parked in the driveway. I was not compensated for the time lost even though I paid for it. I would not recommend this property to my friends.

Great Location, great space, horrible neighboring residents

We loved our stay at Rockaway. The bungalow was very cute and right next to the best part of the beach. I expected it to have more items in the kitchen (oil, sugar, salt, can opener, etc.). PLEASE BE AWARE neighboring residents in the street that leads to the beach have aggressive dogs and are not mindful of keeping their gate closed. We/our dog was attacked while walking to the beach. The gate was open and the owners were not in their yard. When they did come out they were aggressive, hostile, and rude and did not take any steps to check on us our dogs. They were unapologetic and do not seem to like having vacation rentals in their neighborhood. Keep this in mind if you are bringing a dog with you.

Perfect location

What a great spot this cabin is. We had 4 adults and one 6-year-old for a long weekend. It was great. The home is sweet and small. It would be great for multiple families if you can book the other cabins on the property. The location is perfect. Just steps to a beautiful, not crowded beach. We had everything we needed for the house and the check-in process was very easy. We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely stay again. A couple things to note, the fridge is super small. It’s more of a dorm room fridge than a mini fridge, but we made it work. Plenty of good food in the area. The coffee pot provided is a small, 4 cup maker which really equates to two cups once poured so we ended ho having to make lots of pots. Just something to know about if you have more than one coffee drinker in the house. The beds were super comfy, but the couch was not. Overall, we loved this spot, this town, and this beach. I would definitely recommend staying here. We will return and will probably try to get the whole property next summer.

disappointed

First of all i didn't receive any communication about the code to use for the door. I got the information from a person in the neighbor cabin as to what the code would be. The posting said it could sleep up to 6 adults. The couch was not a pull out and it would have been difficult to even sleep one person on the couch. Luckily the young couple who were scheduled to stay with us found another place to stay. The cabin sleeps comfortably 4 individuals. We ended up being 3 staying at the cabin instead of 5 registered for. We were 3 individuals over 70 years old and I never got response about the wheel chair accessibility. We made it work but there no way for the wheel chair to be in the bathroom and shut the door. There was no indication in advertisement that this was not a stand alone house. It was one of 4 cabins with one cabin attached to the cabin in which we stayed. The other issue was the lock kept jamming but luckily they gave us access to a key so we could get in with when the the key code could not function which happened several times. They did send maintenance person out but it was late in afternoon the day after I called.

Great Birthday

The property was very clean and the size was perfect for our family of four. We were celebrating my birthday and it was just perfect. Two concerns to alert the owners. The fire alarm in the bedroom to the left, as you walk to the bathroom, went off in the middle of the night. It was not the beep of low battery so you may want to check it. Also, the cabinet with the broom has an exposed screw which could hurt someone. The cabinet door is off the track and the closet is difficult to use. These were minor concerns to us but I'm sure the owner wants to address these. We had a great time. Thank you.

Cute as a Button

The location in Rockaway was perfect! Easily traveled up and down the coast on day trips as well as enjoyed Rockaway. Cute little house- updated and clean. Beds were comfy, bathroom clean, kitchen tiny but enough. Great and fun place to stay!!

Sorting break fun.

Our family had a great time. This simple small cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway with our family. It is just a short walk to get to the beach, which was amazing. The weather that weekend was great so it made it all the better.

Escape to sweet town if Rockaway

The location is perfect with that small town feel and soft sandy beach..our vrbo was quant and pleasing but the floors were dirty when we got there, made our socks brown, needs to be mopped and the couch was incredibly hard and uncomfortable which was disappointing after a lot of hiking.

Nice Cottage Near the Ocean

We found the place to be just what we were expecting from the photos! A cute little cottage near the ocean with easy access to the beach. It was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a great stay. When there was a minor issue with the door access keypad during our stay, the owner responded within minutes to ensure it was resolved as quickly as possible. I would definitely stay here again.

Great space, quick 2min walk to the beach.

We had two wonderful nights for our anniversary. Loved the space it was clean and wonderful as pictures showed. Only bad thing was birds had left a big mess right when you step up to the front door.

Cute place!

Nice place and convenient location. Very close to the beach which was really nice! The fridge was a little small but it worked for us since we were only There for 1 night. Called the number listed in confirmation email because our key code didn’t work and they were very responsive and got us in quickly.
