Enjoy our beautifully renovated and decorated home on Lake Erie. Beautiful private property with 150’ of waterfront. Enjoy lake views from every room in the house. The deck has been recently renovated and expanded. It now overlooks the beautiful lake making you feel as if you were lounging on the deck of a ship. The property is in a peaceful and secluded area of rural Leamington in a natural setting surrounded by trees right on beautiful Lake Erie. Imagine eating in the dining room, relaxing in the living room or sitting on the deck all while overlooking the vast and pristine Lake Erie. Enjoy waking up to a gorgeous sunrise over the lake or falling asleep to the waves and the motion of the water. If you need a place to relax or just a place to rest while visiting Leamington and the surrounding areas. This is your place.
The cottage is located ten minutes from Leamington and five minutes from Wheatley. There are many restaurants in either town as well as shopping and entertainment. We are located next to Hillman Marsh Conservation Area as well as Point Pelee National Park.

The place is beyond expectations. Everything you need is there. The linens are plentiful and exceedingly clean. The beds are comfortable- including the sofa bed. We loved watching the waves in the morning and evening. A lot of space. Very short drive to everything - including Point Pelee national park. We loved it.

Girls weekend

We had a relaxing weekend away, and the property exceeded our expectations in most regards. Just a little work needed outside. Communication was impeccable and it is definitely a lovely place to go!

One of our favourite stays in Pelee

The cottage is cozy yet feels spacious for the size, the location is perfect and is super private. Both Leamington and Pelee are quite close and Hillman Marsh is basically right next door.We checked in 15-20 minutes early without letting the host know and the security alarm went off. Be sure to check in at the right time or let the host know before entering! Be prepared to fill out a rental agreement before check-in.Overall we really enjoyed the stay and would definitely consider returning in the future.

Cottage by the Shore-Yes!

This is an awesome place to stay! It’s clean comfortable and tastefully decorated. Right on the water, the sunrises are amazing. Communication with the host Maria was above and beyond. If you want a relaxing getaway, book this place!

Lakehouse getaway

We were blown away by the views, seclusion, and impressive patio and grounds at the cottage. We had a relaxing five days, the cottage was clean and lovely and had all the amenities you’d expect to find at your home. We ate every meal on the patio overlooking the lake and woke up early most mornings to enjoy the spectacular view of the sun rising over the lake. Looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely spacious cottage

We had a terrific week at the ‘Cottage by the Shore’. It is a beautiful, bright, spacious and incredibly clean home. The cottage is well equipped and tastefully furnished. What stood out for us was how comfortable the beds and sofas were, so sleeping and relaxing at the cottage was a delight. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the large deck, reading and admiring the view, and enjoying many of our meals outdoors. Previous reviews mentioned the excessive amount of bugs and spiders on the deck. This was not our experience at all, other than the few bugs that one should expect being in a cottage by a lake! The cottage is private, the surrounding are quiet, and the garden area is beautifully maintained. One thing to mention is that the cottage is about a 20 minute drive to town so make sure you have all of your supplies and groceries so you don’t have to keep ‘popping out’ for stuff! Our host, Maria, was incredibly supportive and a pleasure to deal with. This is a very special place and we hope to return some time in the future.

Stay by the lake

Clean place with a great view of Lake Erie. Well equipped kitchen; bbq on a big deck. Quiet. Within 15 minutes of the entrance to Pelee National Park by car and 10-15 minutes to Leamington (for grocery stores, etc.). A 5 minute walk to Hillman Marsh Beach et a few minutes more for the conservation area.

We stumbled upon this property while going through Chatham-Kent on a drive through the Essex-Windsor region and instantly fell in love. The tranquility, the privacy, and the feeling of complete relaxation when we are on the property made the decision to purchase the property a quick one.

If you love to be enveloped by nature and you love privacy, this is the place to visit. Each and every time that we are at our Cottage by the Shore, I get a sense of peace. I love the sound of the water near me, the sway of the trees, the sound of the birds overhead or on the lake, and the smell of nature.
