Outstanding property. Up to 4 separate sleeping areas (2 bedrooms formally). Kitchen was amazing with everything needed to cook in. Location perfect to visit Acadia and bar harbor. Ellsworth has great restaurants. Stairs to upper bedrooms are steep.

Loved staying in this home during our vacation to Maine. It’s private and the location was very convenient. Just a few minutes from Ellsworth and a 25-30 minute drive to Bar Harbor. It was the perfect home base for our Acadia National Park adventure.

The house was very nice, clean and privately tucked in the woods. There is a nice outdoor area to have a fire and a little walking path in the backyard. Would definitely recommend this property.

Great place for quiet and some family time.

We enjoyed the quiet and it was a great place to visit with our daughters who both live in Maine. Being close to Josie's is a plus, as is the relative proximity to Ellsworth.

The rental home is located in a nice area that my wife and I were looking for, that is someplace close to Acadia National Park (about 20 miles inland), but away from the tourism trappings of Bar Habor. The house has a full kitchen with just about anything one could need to live within the comforts one is accustomed. The dinning area and the adjacent entertainment room both overlook the lovely, wooded back area of the property. Of which there is a spacious wooden deck on back of the house, and a fire pit close by. Another nice feature of the house is that there is a full washer and dryer. Now for the less desirable features and aspects of the house and our stay there. Although the two bedrooms are spacious and accommodating, both rooms are located upstairs, the stairs of which may be difficult to navigate for some individuals. Also, the only bathroom is located on the first floor. So one must tromp up and down the awkwardly designed stairs to shower, and/or use the toilet facilities, which also means sleepy-headed nighttime trips (pardon the pun) up and down the stairs to the bathroom. The house has a single split AC/Heat unit which is located on the first or bottom floor. And even though there is a catwalk atop the stairs connecting the two bedrooms upstairs, and which allows air to better circulate between the bottom and the top floors, we could never find a sweet spot in operating the first floor air conditioner which would make both the top and bottom floors comfortable at the same time; either too cold on one floor while stifling on the other floor.However, one of the more troubling issues we discovered, is the smell inside the house. It has a definite musty odor. We found that the musty smell strongly permeated our clothes, and our luggage, and even the contents of our luggage. For the remainder of our New England vacation in Maine and later in New Hampshire, our clothes, and every item within our luggage, ie, toiletry bags, meds bags, shoes, outerwear, etc, reeked of moldiness. And, to top things off, at times the bathroom toilet in the house had a strong septic smell, as if there might be septic gases backing up into the house. By far the most unpleasant part of our stay was the smell inside the house. All in all, I doubt that my wife and I would ever consider staying again at this rental house.I doubt that my wife and I would consider staying again at this rental house. We appreciate the detailed feedback and are sorry for the concerns experienced during the stay. We’re currently aware of an issue with the water tank anode rod and have been in contact with the plumbing contractors who installed the system as we work toward a solution. We appreciate the feedback as we continue improving the home for future guests.

Cool House Surrounded by Woods

The house has a ton of character and is located just outside of Ellsworth and roughly 20-30 minutes from Acadia National Park. Loved the setting, as the house is surrounded by beautiful woods. Loved the many windows which provided lots of natural lighting and a view of the woods. Our family loved our stay!

Cute property!

Loved this property and its convenience to Ellsworth while still feeling secluded. Appreciated the little nature trail, amount of parking and amenities provided. Only critique would be a little more lighting from parking to front door. Absolutely enjoyed our first visit to Maine.

Wonderful Home

We absolutely loved our stay. The house is equipped to enjoy every moment at the property if you wanted! It is beautiful designed inside and out. In a convenient, yet secluded location. Bill, the property manager, was friendly and a great host. We've stayed at many properties on this trip, so I confused the checkout time for an hour later. Bill was very understanding and sent his well wishes for the rest of our road trip. Any issue we had, he was on it. Will book again if we are ever in the area!

The perfect getaway!

We stayed in Ellsworth for a week and had an amazing time! Many local fishing spots, restaurants, and shops within minutes of the house. The house itself was exactly what one would hope for while staying in Maine. Beautiful scenery, smokeless fire pit, grilling space, the perfect hammock trees and more! There was also hammocks, a canoe, and more equipment on the property for you to use!It’s about a 25 minute (beautiful) drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia which is very convenient if you are wanting to explore that area. The host was extremely helpful, quick to get back to us with questions we had, and was full of amazing recommendations. All you really need to bring is yourself here, there is so much provided. We can’t wait to book again!

This darling cottage was much nicer than expected. It was so secluded with lovely trees and flowers everywhere. You felt like you were in a forest wonderland. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed to be comfortable. Beds were great, shower was great, sitting area was great and the darling little chipmunk kept us entertained while we drank our morning coffee. I highly recommend this cottage for a comfortable stay and a short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We loved this vacation spot and would definitely go back again.
