Privately nestled within a 100-acre property, Scarborough Cottage is the definition of an authentic vineyard stay, perfect for up to four guests seeking a peaceful location to take in the best of the Hunter Valley. Located on Wine Country Drive in Rothbury, guests will immediately feel a sense of place when they turn into the rose-edged entrance and traveling along the native bushland driveway, arriving at the country chapel-like, 2-bedroom cottage within the house paddock of Scarborough family’s Sunshine Vineyard.
This winemaker’s cottage has the charm of yesteryear with the fusion of comforts you would wish for to create a very special and memorable rural escape. Casual, charming in style and deeply comfortable, staying at Scarborough Cottage is an opportunity to relax, take a breath and feel at ease as you and your guests enjoy the beauty that only nature and the wide-open space can give.
Scarborough Cottage is conveniently located only just 28 kms from the Hunter Expressway, the Historic town of Branxton and Huntlee Shopping Centre, as well as 7.3 km to Hunter Valley Gardens, 6 km to Scarborough Wine Co. Cellar Door, 3.5 km to Cessnock Airport and, even closer to The Vintage Greg Norman designed Golf Course, Bistro Nineteen, major concert and wedding venues as well as restaurants such as Muse and Amanda’s on the Edge. Tour operators will happily collect you from this property so you can experience the luxury of a private driver and fully enjoy the tasting experiences the valley is famous for.
Scarborough Cottage has a classic layout with a country kitchen, separate living and dining rooms, two king bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, BBQ deck with views as well as a petite, sun-drenched deck off the dining room, reverse cycle air-conditioning, laundry with washer and dryer, and Wi-Fi.
Wake and stretch out on the outdoor chairs in the sun with your morning coffee, and plan your day of exploring the valley, wine tasting, playing golf or dining at any of the fabulous restaurants nearby. Given the tranquillity of the location, we would totally understand if you simply chose to spend the day at the cottage, cooking and catching up with friends, curl up with a great book and a glass of Scarborough Chardonnay or equally, going back to bed for more restful slumber in the cottage’s seriously luxurious king beds.
As part of your stay, guests will also be able to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting at the iconic, Scarborough Wine Co. Cellar Door on Gillards Road in Pokolbin (bookings required), and experience excellence in Hunter wine and heart-warming hospitality.
This charming escape in the Hunter Valley is like no other and we know you will want to return to this gorgeous, vineyard hideaway often.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $400.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre- authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.
LONGER STAYS
Please contact us for a customised quote for longer stays of 3 nights and over.
NOTES
Scarborough Cottage is located onsite to a working vineyard, so seasonally and especially approximately late January into February during vintage season, guests should be aware that machinery activity onsite will occur sporadically and could occur at all hours of the day or night.
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.
Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.
Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.
