perfect house, close to the golf course

This is a beautiful house in an excellent location. We came to boat and golf. The house is 12 minutes to the golf course and 24 minutes to Sulphur Creek. Inside the finishes are new, there are 2 private bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and 1 loft area with another full bath. The furniture was comfortable and new. The covered back deck is the real prize though. I hope to be back soon and this will be my first choice when vacationing at DHL. Hopefully nobody reads this and I'll have my choice of dates in perpetuity.

Amazing Getaway!

Quiet location with beautiful views. “The Porch” was a perfect spring break trip for our family. The home is very clean and beautiful and would easily plan another trip to this wonderful location. Great location for hiking!

Great Vacation House

This house had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation at the lake. The important things for us on vacation is sleeping comfortably, a great view and the location close to the state park. We loved the back porch overlooking part of the lake and hills. The beds were very comfortable especially the king in the master. Great place to stay!

Felt like home!

Our family loved our stay at The Porch on Dale Hollow Lake! The home had all the comforts of home—washer and dryer, cozy bedding and towels, and a fully stocked kitchen. The views overlooking Sulphur Creek were absolutely stunning. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway!

The property location was beautiful, and the initial impression was great. However, once inside, we realized only surface level cleaning was performed. ALL bed linens were visibly dirty with hair, dirt, make up smudges and even menstrual stains in the master bedroom. Once the sheets were removed, the mattress protecter had multiple urine stains, hair and debris. I was up until 1am washing linens for my entire family. After my toddler walked/crawled on the floor for an hour, he had black dirt on his knees and feet. I also cleaned urine and pubic hair off the toilet and mold from the shower curtain and floor. I worked harder cleaning this property on “vacation” than I do at my own home to feel comfortable. Sadly, I would not recommend this property or return in the future.

Were glad you enjoyed the beautiful location and had a positive initial impression of the property. We take cleanliness very seriously and were disappointed to learn of these concerns after the stay. Prior to check-in, our property care team documents the condition of the home with approximately 40 time stamped photos the bathrooms, showers, floors, linens, and other areas mentioned in the review. These photos showed the home cleaned and prepared to our established standards. We did not recieve any cleanliness concerns during the stay, which unfortunately meant we did not have any opportunity to inspect or address them at the time. We value all guest feedback and have shared these comments with our property management team as part of our ongoing commitment to providing every guest with a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable stay.

This property was everything they said it would be. Very clean, comfortable beds, and had easy access when we checked in. We would HIGHLY recommend this property.It was very close to the golf course, which was a beautiful course and challenging for all players .Thanks again, we had a blast !!!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time. We have stayed in many rentals over the years and this is one of the best. The house is perfectly stocked with everything you need. We were there for a fishing trip and the only thing that would have made the trip better was if we had caught more fish! However, it was wonderful to come back to such a comfortable house at the end of the day. Everything was exactly as pictured and the hosts were very quick to respond to questions and issues.

Beautiful home and amazing view!

Our family enjoyed our stay over spring break. This home was extremely clean and the owners did a great job of communicating and offering suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area. It doesn’t get more peaceful than this! The only reason for 4 stars is because the fireplace and the gas grill wasn’t working.

Amazing stay by the lake

We have stayed in several rentals near Dale Hollow lake before, and this was by far our favorite. The house was exactly like the photos, extremely clean, and amazingly well stocked. Wonderful porch with views of the lake where we sat and read with coffee every morning. It was even stocked with games and puzzles for rainy days and evenings, which we took full advantage of. We were able to put our boat in just 10 minutes away at the state park marina. Only thing that would make this better would be if it came with a slip. We hope to stay here again!

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this property. My husband and I stayed with our four children and one of their friends for our annual weekend boating trip to Dale Hollow lake. The property was very clean. It even had the “new house” smell. The property is down a gravel road which was about the only negative but it is the last house on the road so that meant extra privacy. You have a beautiful lake view and see Sulfur Creek Marina from the porch. The kitchen was open and easy to move around even with multiple people in that area. We spent most of our time on the lake but still enjoyed relaxing evenings at this house.

Excellent stay at "The Porch"

We loved our long weekend at The Porch. This home is a new build, impeccably cleaned, well-stocked, thoughtfully laid out, and easy for 2 families (which we had) to spread out. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. The amenities were all there, no need to bring anything other than your food and drinks (quite a few basic spices were provided). We loved the location, quiet (except for boat traffic, which we love), peaceful and off the beaten path (just enough) and close to the State Park Marina, where we have our boat. Best part was the view from the porch, one small view overlooking the lake directly west, and one just north to Sulphur Creek/Mike's Landing. The sunsets were amazing. Communication with the host contact was very timely, friendly and helpful. We have already booked another long weekend! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Awesome place with a view

This little house is quite the gem. It’s beautiful inside. Seating is comfortable. They supply all plates, utensils, silverware, and cookware. There is even an odds and ends drawer with batteries, sewing kit, flashlights, etc. The fridge is huge and they have cabinets for days. The bed was so comfortable. Plenty of hot water quickly. The place it very close to Sulphur and State Park Marinas. However, state is a closer drive otherwise the trek to Sulphur takes you on quite the journey. We have a full size truck with 22’ jet boat and not only was there plenty of parking there is a very large turn around. We have never been down here in our 30+ years of coming and not stayed in a houseboat so this was a first. Really enjoyed the experience. Thanks again :)
