The Retreat at The Pinery is the perfect place to stay during your visit to Colorado Springs. Located on a hilltop between historic Old Colorado City and downtown Colorado Springs, local attractions, restaurants, and shopping are only a few minutes away. Your next-door neighbor is the Pinery, so there is no closer location to the beautiful wedding and conference venue. Close enough to walk, even in heels. Enjoy relaxing outside on the roomy patio area. This unique, cozy place is waiting for you! Entertain in the open concept kitchen/living/dining area and retreat to the private master bedroom when you are ready to call it a day! We want our guests to relax, unwind and feel at home. EXCELLENT PLACE FOR VACATION STAY

I love the place, enjoy the peace and quiet that my sister and I was looking for. Will rent this place again. Love the neighborhood and yes, everything was so nearby.

The property is very close to downtown and has easy access to the highway. One amenity (a can opener) was broken and needed to be replaced. However, I had to call again for that item as this was forgotten about. It was delivered and the site manager was very friendly. The only other negative was the people upstairs could be heard walking around and talking. It's just poor sound insulation between top and bottom floors. I would book this property again if the situation should arise.

My son and I travel to Colorado Springs to visit with my daughter who lives there in town. I found the accommodations were spacious, clean and perfect for my son and I as well as my daughter to come over and enjoy a meal and an evening with us during our stay. We enjoyed the patio space and being able to have a fire in the evening to roast marshmallows and make S’mores. The location was perfect and we were close to all of the activities that we wanted to take part in. We had a wonderful time and a great space to enjoy. The only issues I had were some of the cooking pots and pans that were provided were not clean and a cookie sheet was covered in oil and grease. Those were minor issues. It would have been helpful to have had a few kitchen hand towels and washcloths instead of sponges and only paper towels to clean the kitchen with. The concerns I had with the sponges are that they hold bacteria and using them after other people doesn’t seem very hygienic. Having a few extra trash bags would have been useful, other than those very minor issues It was a wonderful place and we would book it again and refer it to friends and family!

Very beautiful and peaceful location with a comfortable home to stay in atop the hill between Old Colorado City and Downtown Co Springs. The area was really nice and it was a very accommodating stay. I already have a return planned soon because of how much I liked it! Definite recommendation. P.s. the big tv is also a plus for anyone who enjoys films and the like.

Great location, but thin walls

The location and unit were great and spacious for my needs. I took full use of the washer/dryer to return home from my trip with clean clothes. The coffee maker was really, really dirty and I did not use it at all. I enjoy my morning coffee and could not because the machine was dirty, with dirty standing water in it. The microwave did not heat properly. Microwaves are inexpensive nowadays, so let's obtain a good one, please. The walls are super thin. There were renters in the upstairs unit who were loud and their conversations were heard very clearly. The unit rules are not to disturb the other unit by being loud, but I guess the upstairs unit does not have this same rule, because they were loud. I even heard one of them say, this is going to be the party unit, referring to the event they were in town for. I would suggest bringing earplugs for this unit. The heating unit was not turning on, so I call the maintenance number and got an immediate response. The woman managing the unit came over right away and with some troubleshooting fixed the heating unit. Thank you for that!! It was very much appreciated. The unit does not have ac, which was not the biggest deal breaker.

Thanks for staying at The Retreat. We do appreciate feedback from all of our guests and want everyone to have a 5 star experience. Both the coffee maker and microwave have been replaced. This is a shared home with two separate units. All guests are expected to observe quiet hours and be respectful of other people occupying the premises.

Pros: The location was good. Close to downtown and other attractions. No issues with the neighborhood. Bed was comfortable. Con’s: No AC which was tolerable but the fans were very very dirty. We were only provided 3 towels, 1 washcloth and no dish towels for a 4 night stay. The shower curtain liner only covered part of the opening so the curtain just hung there. Simple things could have made it so much better. It wasn’t super expensive so I guess you get what you pay for???

Overall, this was an adequate stay for the affordable price and worked fine for our 4-night visit. The location was convenient, with easy free parking right outside and good access to local attractions.There were several cleanliness and maintenance issues, however. We found food residue on kitchen surfaces, wet cleaning sponges left in the sink, a sticky dining table, worn bedding, wall stains, and a dirty/unfinished laundry area. The stove burners smoked heavily when turned on, and with no kitchen exhaust fan, we chose not to use them.The listing states there is AC, but we were unable to locate any controls. During a hot week, the upstairs bedroom was stuffy enough that we slept downstairs instead. The bathroom also lacks an exhaust fan, which added humidity to the bedroom area.Amenities were sparse compared with most rentals we've used: no dish towels, no hand soap at the kitchen sink, no laundry pods, and no recycling service. We ended up hauling recyclables across town ourselves.Communication was adequate but not exceptional. I sent a question before arrival and never received a response.Overall, the rental met our basic needs, and the price reflected what we received. It was functional and well-located, but could benefit from more thorough cleaning, better temperature control, and a few additional guest amenities.
