Community amenities include both indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, tennis courts, and hiking trails. Spend the day at nearby Whitefish Mountain Resort, which offers world-class skiing and other year-round activities, or explore downtown historic Whitefish. Guests in search of a mountain retreat will love curling up beside the wood-burning fireplace while surrounded by a cozy cabin setting.

Tongue-in-groove paneling adds classic rustic charm to the soaring ceilings and walls inside this 3-level condo. A stacked-stone fireplace waits for chilly evenings, along with a soft couch and armchair in the living area. As the flames flicker, settle in for a movie night on the 40” TV equipped with Roku. In the kitchen, find high-end appliances and a coffeemaker. Gather around the island—with seating for 5—and share a delicious breakfast before heading out on the day’s adventure. For dinner, fire up the grill on the deck and eat alfresco at the outdoor table for 6. When it’s time for bed, the queen sleeper sofa in the living area is great for last-minute guests.

Definitely need a car as a walk into town…you are on a mountain and just a few miles from a ski resort. The beds were great and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need.

Nice cabin look. Loft was great, lots of natural light. Beds a bit soft for me, but great place to stay. I left bear spray for the next person. Hope the host leaves it. Would be a nice touch to have it as it is expensive. We would stay again.

Very nice resort, comfortably situated for access to Whitefish and Glacier. Good amenities. Washer and dryer were in closet of one of the bedrooms, which was a little unusual. Love that there was a grill and great TV and other games options. My only complaint was that other guests hogged the hot tub area.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!! THE CEDARS NEST WAS NOT WHAT WAS PORTRAYED ON THE WEBSITE. WHEN YOU BOOK AND SPEND MONEY FOR A PLACE TO STAY TO HAVE A NICE VACATION AND WALK INTO THE HOUSE THAT SMELLS MUSTY AND MOLDED, SCREWS COMING OUT OF THE BED IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.NAUTRAL RETREATS CERTAINLY DID NOT MAINTAIN THIS PARTICULAR HOME AND MAY NOT DO THE SAME AT OTHERS.

Getaway to Glacier

The Cedar Nest worked very well for our stay in Whitefish. It was clean, comfortable and convenient for our time in Glacier National Park. I loved the spiral staircases! I must say that communication before, during and after were exceptional. Many thanks for helping to make our trip a great one!

1st time in whitefish

The property was as expected. I will say we experienced a lot of wood smoke from another unit. We had to open the doors to clear the air.

We’ve stayed at Ptarmigan a couple times now, Love the location and atmosphere at the Village, Feel like the photos displayed on the VRBO site are not quite reflective of the actual rooms, they are not as nice as the photos would indicate, could use some upgrading.

Beautiful Vacation Stay

My fiancé and I stayed here for our week long vacation. We chose this location because of the proximity to downtown Whitefish and the amenities offered such as the heated pool and hot tub. It was great having these amenities just a couple steps outside of the condo. Everything in the rental was as described and pictured. The hosts were great about providing helpful information and answering questions. The kitchen was also fully stocked with all the cooking/dining ware we needed! It was a wonderful stay overall. The only downside was not having in-house washing and drying.

Overall - when we first arrived, it was warm, 80 degree weather, but the fans on site helped. Nice proximity to the spa and indoor pool, sauna. Kind of out there away from everything and in the wilderness, but got used to the windy road after a few trips.Nice having a working fireplace. Dishwasher did not work at all. Coffee pot did not work, but had it was replaced the next day. Small washer for loads - o.k. Not wild about winding staircases and master bedroom in basement, but this kept it cool on a warm night.

The property was clean and check out went well. Not sure why we had to drive a check in sheet to the office. It wasn’t clear to us that the second bath was on a different floor from the bedrooms. The spiral stairs look nice but make it difficult when it’s the only way to transport luggage (when it’s raining and you can’t go around back and thru the bedroom). Some of the doors didn’t shut without much difficulty. The shower on the main floor had way too much pressure which caused a lot of water to cover the balance of the bathroom. Also had issues with the coffee maker, not sure why water would not pass thru. It worked to get our visit to Glacier.

The condo served our group of 5 well. PROS: *Location is great for skiing or going into town. *Kitchen is well-stocked with plenty of pots, pans, cutting boards, utensils, etc. (could use some more glassware and a pizza pan but that's nitpicking).*Plenty of supplies are provided - dishwasher pods, dish soap, paper towels, shampoo, body wash, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc..*The shower pressure was very good (I mention because it usually isn't).*It is clean and everything worked (lights, TV, toilets, appliances, etc.)*Plenty of hooks/hangers for our ski gear at entryway.*Check-in/out was easy with code provided - not a huge list of to-dos. CONS:*The open room/loft is clear from the pictures, but obviously no privacy/quiet for those sleeping in that area. *Furniture, cabinetry and bedding are a bit dated/worn, but still very functional. *Getting large luggage up and down that spiral staircase is no easy task:) It is narrow and some may have a difficult time with it. OTHER INFO:*The pull-out sofa is in the main living room - the description said it was in the loft. It wasn't a problem for us but may be important to some. *The only ingredients supplied are olive oil, salt and pepper (this is not bad, just good to know). *The Village requires a handwritten form (car info and guest names) be dropped at office (weird it's not online but that's not the hosts fault).In summary, it was as described, had everything we needed and was a good value for the money.

We enjoyed our visit .The place was clean and location was great!The only issue was the codes to the place were not given to me prior to check in time.Once I contacted the office the codes were given rightaway.Also the WI-FI info listed on the fridge is incorect .Overall I gladly recommend the place.Very peaceful place and close to all places we wanted to visit.We stayed 3 days.Elizabeth

Beautiful location, clean close to pool

Our family stayed at this property for four nights. Four adults and one five-year-old. There was plenty of room for us. It was clean. Checking in/out easy. Owners responded to all questions quickly. We had a great stay! Beautiful location! **helpful hint- there are only spiral staircases- for the 2 lower floor occupants- have someone go in the unit, go down the stairs, and open the back door and bring your luggage in for the two lower unit bedrooms through the back door.** Pros: two bedrooms plus the loft was plenty of room for us. The indoor pool and outdoor hot tub was a short path through the woods very close to this unit. The unit was well marked and easy to find. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. Although it is in one of the bedrooms, so you have to plan to do your laundry before someone goes to bed. We enjoyed the outside patio. There is a private beach access 5 minutes drive from there condo. We went down several nights and watch the sunset and actually played games on the picnic tables that are at the beach. It was quiet and we were the only ones there. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, plates, coffee, maker, tester, etc.. Cons: There is no air-conditioning in this unit. Which three out of our four nights was fine. But the first night we arrived it was 90°. And there were no fans in the unit. We had to buy fans. No kitchen table. We ate outside ( plenty of stools around island) Spiral staircases can be a challenge

Ptarmigan Village

Such a beautiful getaway in a great location! Property has been well taken care of and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed dining on the back deck…playing pickle ball…. lounging at the hot tub and swimming at the pool after long days of playing and hiking Glacier. Lovely stay! Thank you.
