We’re glad you found the cabin clean inside. We’re sorry the outdoor condition and living room furniture affected your experience. The cabin grounds are maintained every other week, while the neighboring property is outside our management. We’ll inspect the living room furniture and cushions and address any updates that may be needed. We appreciate your feedback.

From Owner: Thank you for sharing your feedback. The listing description notes that lake access is down and across the street, with the water photo showing the nearby park, so the property itself was represented as being by the water rather than directly on it; this was also confirmed when Evolve reviewed the listing. We're sorry to hear some dishes in the cabinet had residue on them—this most likely happened because a previous guest didn't wash dishes before departing, as our house rules ask. Going forward, a vacuum will be provided for guest use, and a hose will be attached to the outside spigot so shoes and paws can be rinsed off outside.

Dear Cindy: First of all, thank you for your wonderful review and extremely thoughtful words!! I apologize for not responding more quickly, but the Evolve site just began to enable responses to 5 star reviews. You cannot imagine how it makes my heart smile when guests have a great experience at the Sister Lakes area of Dowagiac, MI. I love the peacefulness of the neighborhood and the beauty of Magician Lake. It’s a great fishing, boating and swimming lake with the clear waters it boasts. Next summer, I am planning to add a pedal boat for my guest’s use. Thank you for informing me, too, that you were not aware that the kayaks were sit on top kayaks-I will change the listing to add this in so that future guests are aware.
