Last month we stayed at Ocean Reef resort Myrtle Beach, South Carolina through Elliott Beach rentals. As soon as we walked in the door, we noticed how filthy the condo was. You could definitely tell it hadn’t been cleaned in I don’t know how long. The bedding had to be taken off and washed before we could sleep in the beds. Broken fixtures, including lights didn’t work shower head towel rack were falling off the wall. Bathtub had to be scrubbed to remove filth before we could bathe in them. The bedroom doors did not latch, which was very inconvenient with two small children who wanted to walk in the room at any time mold buildup on the trim in wall decor and I’m assuming it was a prior guest mouth retainer was under the couch, which pulled out to a bed. Hair balls on the furniture sink was clogged with tons of hair. There was layers of dust on fans. TVs did not work there was lack of basic necessities for the kitchen. Keyless door lock to our room stopped working. We had to sit in our room for four hours waiting for someone to come fix it. At that time we told them about all of our other issues. Was told to call the office which at that time they offered us a reclean this being three days after being there we declined because we already claimed it ourselves. Also discussed maybe some money back being we spent over 3000 for five days we were told that we would discuss this at checkout. Nothing was done about any issues other than the door. And we were brought skillet the

We are truly sorry that your experience at Ocean Reef was so disappointing, especially after investing significant time and money into a five-day family vacation. The conditions you described upon arrival—including the cleanliness of the bedding, bathrooms, floors, furniture, fans, kitchen, and concerns with mold and hair are certainly not what we want our guests to encounter. We also apologize for the multiple maintenance issues you experienced, including the fixtures, shower head, towel rack, bedroom doors, clogged sink, televisions, and kitchen supplies. We are particularly sorry for the inconvenience surrounding the keyless entry. Having to wait approximately four hours for assistance is understandably frustrating, especially with two young children. We also regret that the opportunity to address your other concerns was not handled more effectively after you reported them. While a re-clean was offered several days into your stay, we understand why you declined after having already cleaned the property yourselves. Most importantly, we are sorry that you left feeling that your concerns were not taken seriously and that the discussion regarding compensation was not resolved during your stay. We understand that this was a significant expense for your family, and you deserved a clean, well-maintained home and responsive service from the beginning. Your feedback has been shared for review with the appropriate teams and the property's ownership so that these concerns can be addressed. We sincerely apologize that we did not provide the quality of stay and service you expected and deserved. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention.
