This was our 2nd visit to the property. Our experience was just as GREAT as the first. Chris & Karla will make you feel at home. No hassles with arrangements, arriving or departing. The unit is in the luxurious Grand Venetian condo complex next to La Isla the hottest shopping in PV. Easy transportation was available to wherever you wanted to go...for cheap! The pools at the Grand Venetian are world class. All appliance worked. A free Netflix account is available on the tv's. The unit is exactly as advertised and provides a fabulous view. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck having coffee in the morning, and seeing humpback whales. Importantly, the bed is comfortable. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to PV.
We spent a week on a family vacation at Puerta al Mar. Very easy booking process. We opted to add the pick-up/drop-off service for an additional fee and made a grocery shopping stop on the way - very handy! However the local Ley is only 2 blocks away from the condo so if you forget something or run out, not an issue at all. The condo building staff could not have been nicer! The condo itself is exactly as shown. The stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom would not be easy for elderly or small children. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit so you can spot cool a particular room. We were told electricity is very expensive in MX so you are only permitted so much useage per day before it is deducted from your security deposit so use everything sparingly. We were assigned 1 cleaning during our stay but my husband’s stomach was sour so he opted to stay in and rest so we cancelled.
The pool and pool area were clean and well kept.
Getting to the beach is as easy as opening the gate. It’s a rocky section and the water was rough (maybe the time of year?). We chatted with some expats and they said the closer you get to Playa Los Muertos the calmer the waves and easier for the children to navigate.
The beach parties and local bars can be noisy but we brought sound machines from home based on previous reviews. Only 1 night was it too much but I bet those folks were having a blast haha
It’s true - you don’t need a car at all. We walked everywhere! Frankly, it’s the best part anyway - it’s how we found some great gems to eat at and people watching is always a fun pastime.
I hope to visit PV again and would look into staying here again.
