Bear Den cabin

Guests mentioned the Broiler was not working upon arrival, when the host was informed, they quickly purchased heaters to place into each individual rooms and provided more firewood and had a fire made while the crew was out in the field. The broiler issue was fixed soon after. Guests mentioned finding the cabin was a little tricky in the dark but managed. Nice and clean place and provided tools and equipment for BBQ, so that was nice.

Fantastic Weekend!!

We had another fantastic weekend at The Bears Den!! I have lost count of how many times we have rented the property but every time we arrive it feels like we are home! The location is perfect with a short walk to the lake and the views from the patio and through all the windows is amazing. The cabin itself is well equipped with everything you need. The beds are so comfortable and the linens are beautiful. We look forward to many more weekends at The Bears Den!!

Fantastic Stay!!

We had a perfect stay at the Bears Den! The cabin is very well equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. The beds are comfy with luxury bedding, so cozy! The fireplace is amazing and makes the place feel like home! The host was wonderful and prompt to respond to any questions. Can’t wait to go back again!!

The Best May Long Weekend!!

We had an amazing weekend with family and friends!! The cabin has everything you need, fully equipped kitchen, very comfy linens and spectacular views! The location is excellent for exploring the back country. Be sure to check out the Braelorne Pub. We will be back!

Excellent accommodations

Property as listed. Lots of room to accommodate a large group and still maintain privacy. Bears Den is fully outfitted for all of your needs. Have been staying in this property for 20+ years.

Winter option

With the property for sale, much of what we experienced is understandable, but.... Overall, pretty good place. Roomy, warm, adequate, decent access and great views. Beds, not so great. Master bed downstairs broke down 20 years ago. Sit on the edge and one hits the box spring. Few of the others were showing age too. Kitchen is adequate, but in need of a good set of pans from a garage sale. This place is built for 6, 8, 10+ people. So cooking is a huge part of the deal and ample cookware and accessories are needed. Last, there was a review a year or two back about the slider onto the patio. Something about it needed attention (fixing). It takes two hands and lifting it off the track to slide it open. Everyone of the guys, who all work in the trades, struggled with the thing. Not disappointed; options in the GB area are limited, but for the price and style of home, one expects a bit more. Place was clean, has radiant heat flooring, nice ambience and the road in was plowed allowing decent access.

Another Great Stay!!

This is our fourth time at the Bears Den and as usual it did not disappoint! The hosts are fantastic to deal with, fast and efficient. We love the location for outdoor adventures! The neighbours down the way did a wonderful fireworks display for New Years!! Can’t wait to come again!

Charming Lake Cabin in the Woods

Had such an amazing time up at the Bears Den Cabin on Tyaughton Lake with our extended family. It was such a beautiful Cabin - spacious & clean - in a picturesque setting. The process from booking to arriving at the cabin was seamless as the host / owner provided all key information and quickly responded to all questions. We would definitely go back and hope to make our stay an annual event.

Awesome place to base for exploring the amazing Chilcotins

Our group really enjoyed our stay at the Bears Den in early fall 2022. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of space for the seven of us. We did a lot of mountain biking in the area - and this was a great comfortable place to base from. Great times with good friends - will hopefully be back next year!

Home away from home

Great spot, excellent communication

We enjoyed our stay at the Bear Den. For two families with small children, there was plenty of space. Communication was timely with owners. Enjoyed being close to the lake. Only suggestion to owners Is to fix the patio door, which I imagine is on their to-do list!

Fabulous Place for a Family Getaway

The Bears Den is a wonderful four-bedroom, 4 Bathroom Cabin just a short distance from the lake; the room with the 2 twins has room to be pushed together to make a queen as we did. The walk to the public area to enjoy the lake is just under a few minutes, and there is parking there if you want to take extra stuff. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, there are a couple of issues that would be expected with any vacation rental but nothing that would ruin your stay. Kerry & Lorna

Glamping and nice vacation

It was a great experience, the cottage was very pretty and quiet. It is a great place to spend time with friends and family. We had an amazing star gazing experience. The only thing please carry lots of mosquito repellents. We enjoyed the kayaking experience too The house was kept very nicely. I would definitely like to come back.

Amazing cabin for families

We've stayed at the Loon’s Nest cabin for the past 4 years and this was our first time staying at the Bears Den. Although not on the lake, this house was huge and perfect for our friend group of families with lots of space for everyone! As usual, Heather was amazing to communicate with and so responsive and helpful. The only flaw was that there is a well-populated bat box mounted above the back den that results in a copious amount of bat poop on the deck every morning. Probably helps keep the mosquito popular down though. Thanks again for the great stay, Heather!

Lovely property, great communication with hosts. Loved the kayaks and location, very beautiful. Would have liked to have known there was no shampoo etc, but otherwise a lovely stay

Jen's grandfather first started making Tyaughton Lake his vacation spot in the early 1960s, and now, over 50 years later, Jen brings her own children there every summer and long weekend!

The entire family knows the area very well and they are excited to share the natural beauty of the lake with their guests.

Jennifer strives to provide guests a relaxing stay along with the excitement of the endless outdoor activities!
