Inaccurate Description and Poor Experience
The photos online and the description of the property make it seem as though you’re staying at something closer to a hotel or apartment, when in reality it’s just a room in someone’s basement with its own door to the outside. The space is also much smaller than it appears in the photos online. It’s all one room with no separate bedroom. There are rules for the house that are not listed online, for example, no one is allowed into the property that is not staying on the property, so we couldn’t bring over another colleague for dinner like we had planned. There were also several issues with the property itself. The shower had 0 pressure due to the fact that some of the nozzles for the shower were missing. The shower itself also had tiles missing in some places. The A/C for the apartment also did not work and could not cool down the place. When we alerted the property manager they came quickly to look at it, first they said that it felt fine to them and then they said it wasn’t working because we had it turned down too low, despite the fact that regardless the temperature we put it at, it never cooled down at all. They changed it to a higher temperature and said “let’s try this”. It never cooled down to that temperature. We let them know again and they again argued with me that it felt fine to them so they didn’t see a problem. They turned the temperature down a couple more degrees, but it still never cooled down more than it was and always continued to warm with us present.
