Home in Madrid

We have been here 3 times during our retired travels of 15 years and we enjoy it every time. Quiet, clean, able to cook market is to the left when you leave the front door and supermarket to the right and if you want to go to the main attractions about 10-15minutes walk.

Great Location at a Good Price

The unit is just 5 minute walk for Plaza de España and two blocks from Calle Gran Via. It is a clean 1 bedroom unit with a pull-out couch and a small kitchen.

Great Location

We stayed at 3 different places in Madrid, and this one although the street was being repaired was by far the best! the apartment is very comfortable, very well equipped and clean. Located in Gran Via and has an elevator! close to restaurants, theaters, shopping, tour places, bus top, market so you'll find everything you need! Thank you Gabriel & Pedro! Maite D.

Great choice!

Communication with our property manager was easy and quick. They replied to all questions in a very timely manner. The apartment itself was perfect. Clean and well decorated. It is VERY centrally located to Gran Villa and several metro stations. The neighborhood is safe and has some great dining options. The Federal Cafe, just a few blocks away is a very nice neighborhood place for breakfast and coffee with a very friendly staff. We could not have been happier in choosing this apartment. Very satisfied with the entire experience.

Nice flat but bad timing

First the good. This is a very nice apartment, well equipped and centrally located. Unfortunately the roads around the property are under major reconstruction which significantly disrupted access and some services such as internet and rubbish collection. We were not aware of this and we’re inconvenienced. Despite this the management group for the property ( our hosts) were very approachable and responded to the frequent problems rapidly and effectively. We would visit again once the roadworks are completed but judging by their extent this may be some time.

Our family of four stayed here for 6 nights in late March. The location is amazing! It is a 2 minute walk to Gran Via and several metros stops are just a few minutes away. There are many small markets and so many restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The flat was very clean and the bed in the bedroom was excellent. My boys said the fold out sofa bed was one of the best they have ever slept on. The shower is very good with plenty of hot water. The walls are solid and it is very quiet in the flat. Two improvements are needed to make this a 5 star flat. One, there needs to be at least one comfortable chair for the living room. The one in the flat was wobbly and not all that comfortable. Two chairs would be ideal as the sofa seats 2 comfortably. Secondly, there is no counter above the sink in the bathroom. The pictures in the listing should be updated. There are now 3 stools at the kitchen counter and no small table with chairs. It is a very good place to stay in the center of Madrid.

Vacation in Madrid

Very nice, very clean apartment, with two balconies, located close to the Gran Via, and close to other attractions in Madrid. Gabriel, the manager of the apartment was right on time and very helpful when we checked in, going over very thoroughly the workings of the apartment, and he allowed us to leave our baggage in the the apartment while the cleaning service was working, as our flight had arrived pretty early in the day to Madrid. The apartment had all the amenities one could hope for during a vacation stay, and if we had a question, management was quick to answer. I would have to say that there were only three things that were issues for us: one was that there was nowhere to put bathroom items while in the bathroom. Soap, shaving cream, wash cloth, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, brush etc had to be placed on or in the sink, toilet top or the floor, as there was no type of shelf in the bathroom, nor the shower itself. Also we were told very close to check in time that there was a €30 cash fee for checking in on Sunday, which, when we paid it, management stated that it was stipulated somewhere, though I never saw it. In addition, the unit was billed on Vrbo as a two bedroom unit, when it was actually one bedroom, and a sleeper couch. Other than those three issues my niece and I were very pleased with our stay at the Flat Sweet Home apartment on Calle Antonio Grilo in Madrid.

Es war wirklich sehr sauber, die Klimaanlage war in jedem Raum vorhanden, für einen städtetrip perfekte Lage da man zu Fuß nur um die Ecke laufen muss und sich direkt in der Stadt befindet. Küche gut ausgestattet, Waschmaschine auch vorhanden. Fahrstuhl vorhanden, alles in allem top :)

Ein absolutes Schmueckstueck im Herzen der Stadt

(Querido Gabriel, voy a traducir aqui mis palabras q escribi en tu librito al aleman, porque me parece mas conveniente para ti.) Lieber Gabriel, Ich war vom 11. Juli bis zum 10. August 2014 in Deiner wunderschoenen Wohnung. Offen gesagt, ein absolutes Schmuckstueck. Klein, aber sehr schoen eingerichtet, sehr ruhig, sehr zentral und absolut nahe zu allen Produkten und Dienstleistungen, die man so taeglich braucht. Obwohl die Wohnung sehr nah an der Gran Via ist, zweifellos die wohl lauteste Strasse im Stadtzentrum Madrids, merkt man von diesem Laerm hier gar nichts. Ich muss beruflich bedingt in der Schweiz und Deutschland sehr haufig frueh aufstehen. Hier in Deiner Wohnung habe ich viele Male die Zeit gar nicht wahrgenommen. Mehrere Male habe ich bis ein-zwei Uhr nachmittags geschlafen und habe es nicht einmal gemerkt, dass es schon so spaet ist. So ruhig ist Deine Wohnung. Madrid ist eine gefaehrliche Stadt (im ironischen Sinne). Die Stadt umarmt dich schnell wegen ihre viefachen Moeglichkeiten, deine Zeit gut zu verbringen. Vor allem zwischen acht Uhr abends und 1-2 morgens ist Madrid einfach wunderbar. Draussen zu sein, ein Glas Wein oder Bier zu trinken bei immer noch 30 Grad, laesst dich schnell die Zeit vergessen. Wegen der absoluten zentralen Lage der Wohnung habe ich mich nicht einmal verirrt (was ja durchaus schon mal vorkommen kann, wenn man ein Glas zu viel getrunken hat). Die Wohnung war jeden einzelnen Euro wert. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und dankbar, dass ich dieses Schmuckstueck gefunden habe. Die Wohnung hat alles, was man braucht. Ich kann sie mit Ruhe und klarem Verstand 100% weiterempfehlen an alle, die gerne ein paar Tage in Madrid verbringen wollen. Vielen Dank fuer alles und sicherlich bis bald. Don't recommend

This is a very charming apartment in a great location in Madrid. It was just around the corner from the Gran Via street and was very accessible to the metro stations. It was a clean apartment and I stayed here with my mother, father, and sister for 6 days. Although we enjoyed our stay in Madrid for the most part, we did have a couple complaints. Firstly, the first night we got there the air conditioner was not working. Needless to say, it is very hot in Madrid in July!! It was so hot none of us could sleep. Fortunately the landlord sent someone to fix it the next day and it worked great the rest of our stay. Secondly, the washer machine broke. We had done a load or two of laundry and on the fourth night we went to do another load, pushed the start button and all of the buttons just fell backwards into the washing machine. We contacted the landlord and he sent someone the next day to fix the washing machine. He then accused us of breaking it (forcing the buttons until they broke) and said he would charge us for it. This was just absurd because it was clearly a worn washing machine that was ready to break on the next person that used it. He wouldn't reason with us and charged us for half of the cost to fix it. Also, we asked the landlord twice through email if there was a clothes dryer and he responded yes and to our surprise there was no clothes dryer to be found. Other than the "minor" problems that we had, the apartment is great. Just be aware that there could be some hidden costs in staying at this apartment. I personally would not stay here again.

compact stylish practical quiet

We decided to rent out this flat for a 5 day stay in madrid. we are a young well-travelled couple from london. we wanted to stay in the malasana area and have friends living nearby. we walk every where so this was perfect, 15 mins from everywhere. The flat is smaller than it looks in the pics but that wasnt really a negative, and otherwise I couldnt fault it. spotlessly clean and new. we were impressed by the investment and thought gone into tastefully furnishing it. was basically like a hotel suite. the kitchen is perfectly adequate for cooking/entertaining although we only used it to prepare breakfast. there is a huge indoor grocery market on the same street which was v useful. also a 24 hour minimarket which was v useful for late nights. there is a big tv but we didnt even turn it on. there is plenty of wardrobe space. bed is a comfy double. the shutters make the room completely blacked out which is great for getting loooads of undisturbed sleep. the windows make the flat soundproof. the balconies are nice but the sun doesnt reach them. was really good having a washing machine. the cycles were quick. also good was the dishwasher. the shower was really nice and powerful but the hot water doesnt last long enough for two showers. anyway we were really glad we stayed there and would stay there again and would recommend to anyone, young or old, who want a minimalist, functional but chic, restful base from which to explore madrid.

Modern apartment in central Madrid

It has been really great to have this flat as a base for some of my time in Spain. The flat has suited my needs perfectly. Nicely decorated. Ample room for a single person or couple. Excellent central location with easy access to Metro lines. And great for just walking around. The street on which this flat is located in not the prettiest, but that hardly matters. It's just two blocks to the Gran Via where the city is full of life. I would recommend your flat to anyone who is wanting to spend more than a few days in Madrid.

Modern Delight

We were delighted by this apartment. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. It felt as though the owner put a lot of thought into what would be needed for a renter to be happy. The appliances and little touches were high class. The wifi and work area was great. The apartment was located close to major streets and subways but on a quieter side street so that noise was never an issue.

5 night stay in centre of Madrid

Very comfortable apartment, well equiped and although close to shops etc. very quiet. Fresh meat and veg market open late and only 2 mins walk away, restaurants, mini supermarkets, metro all within 5 minutes walk. Apartment spotlessly clean and arrival arrangements all fine. Minor disappointment was the lack of any available English TV programmes, not even CNN or BBC World, otherwise all as stated in apartment description on the web site. The Thyssen gallery well worth a visit and a day trip to Toledo easy to organise and enjoyable. I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in a very central location.
