This is our 6th year coming to New Smyrna Beach and our 2nd year staying at Castle Reef. The location is excellent; drivable to any restaurant locations in the area. The condo is nice although a little dated. It was a little musty when we got there but nothing a little Lysol and a candle couldn’t fix. The pool and beach were a little busy over Labor Day weekend but the security guy kept everyone in check. Can’t go wrong with this location. Look for to exploring other condos at Castle Reef in the future.

Just what we needed

This was our family's first stay through a vrbo property. We were happy with the condo and property managers and found the space to be just what we needed. Things we enjoyed: - The view of the ocean from the balcony is fantastic. Enjoyed evenings simply sitting outside to have dinner and take in the view. - The space was cozy and comfortable. - The condo contained all the necessities for a beach vacation (towels, chairs, sand toys for our daughter, dishes, bedding, etc.) - There was a television in the living room and bedroom with access to a variety of channels and on-demand television/movies - The condo provided easy access to the pool and beach (stairs and elevator accessible) - There is a laundry room on the premises (coin laundry) - The rental agency was fantastic! They were quick to respond to calls and concerns and the people were very kind and respectful at all times. Things to note for families looking to stay here: - There is only security on weekends, and the security personnel only monitors who is entering the property from the beach. They do not work to enforce any other expectations of the property. - There are signs around the pool area with rules (ex: no glass; no profanity; no diving; etc.). However, there is no one to enforce the rules. We traveled with our child, and found that other renters who gathered by the pool often had glass bottles (alcohol) and used a great deal of profanity. - Someone urinated in the elevator and it was not cleaned for several days. - We returned from the beach one afternoon to find someone from the property (not the rental agency) was in our condo to service the air vents. We were not provided advance notice of anyone entering the condo and they were not wearing a mask (during Covid surge). We would have appreciated advance notice that someone would be entering the condo as our valuables were on display. - The first 2 days of our vacation we did not have access to cable or the internet. The rental agency was able to get someone from the cable company to come out and restore access. - We arrived after the property office closed and were unable to obtain a parking pass for 2 days as a result of this late arrival. We arrived on time for the rental agency, but were not aware that the condo offices (separate from the rental agency) had different operational hours. - The stove posed a challenge for cooking (dated and burners weren't great) We enjoyed the condo, but the property was not a good fit.

Summer Vacation

Quiet location and beautiful beach. Great restaurants nearby (Norwood Treehouse and JB’s Fish. Camp). Room had nice view of ocean and a very relaxed atmosphere..

Great condo in New Smyrna Beach

Great clean condo in a great low pressure location. Everything was as stated in the advertisement. Only issue was the internet went out for a couple days. It was not a huge deal for us. Overall awesome rental would definitely stay here again.

Castle Reef Condo 516

Was our first time to rent a 1 Bed Room condo. Was amazed at the Room that we had & the View was great from the 5th Floor. Enjoyed our Stay. !
