Clean and convenient

We loved the unit! Clean and convenient. Fantastic views. One thing of note...the TV is not a smart TV so if you want to stream, bring a roku or apple firestick device.

New Smyrna visit

Love Castle Reef

We've been coming to Castle Reef for over 10 years now and this is the first time we used Vacasa. The trip did not disappoint. Clean room, great view, easy access to elevator and the complex is close to just about every place you need while staying. Will be back.

Awesome oceanfront

If you want to look out the window or sit on the balcony and see & hear the beautiful ocean, this is the perfect place to be! The sunrises are spectacular, too! It's a quick and convenient walk down to the pool area and great beach access. The unit is very clean and updated. Nice layout and new furnishings. I would have preferred a mattress with more support. Overall, great time and will certainly consider a return visit in the future!

Disappointed

Be careful when dealing with the host of this property, which is a Vascasa property. Although it looked nice and clean, our feet became black when walking on the floors. Additionally, the shower stall leaked after every shower, which was never resolved. Their communication is abysmal, and no one seems to know anything. The worst thing was that we received a notice that the beach access from the property was not available, which is why we chose this property. When I was finally able to reach the “host”, prior to the last date we could receive our deposit back and choose a property that did still have access. The host didn’t know(!), and said he would contact the local manager,. He contacted us back and said it would be fine and we were sent a gate access code. When we arrived, the access was not accessible, the gate could not be used, as the 10 foot drop to the beach had no stairs. We were told we could use the public beach access which was a half mile walk on the main rd. When we complained the response was, well you have beach access. I don’t appreciate the dishonesty of this company Vascasa.

Condo

Would give this condo 5 stars for view & location but giving it 4 because of sticking patio doors, torn screens on living room windows & broken toaster. Condo needs some TLC (outdated/worn decor), but was nice & clean upon arrival. Would stay there again.

Great time

The only problems we encountered were the closet door in bedroom was broken, the windows would not stay open, one of the bathroom cabinet doors almost fell off and the sliding doors were very hard to open. With all that said we totally enjoyed ourselves!!! The condo was very comfortable and quiet! We had a very relaxing trip! One last suggestion would be to have 1080 p for the TV.

Bad Stay

This is an older property that definitely needs to be updated. The sliding glass doors are a safety hazard. It wasn't represented fairly in the advertising for it. There was a lot of dirt on the ceiling by the ac vent. The floor had a sandy feel to it. April (from Vacasa) was very helpful.

Great Place/Problems with VACASA

This updated condo was absolutely beautiful with a wonderful ocean breeze. It is extremely spacious and I would stay there again if I did not have to deal with VACASA. Due to the hurricane, there was not any beach access within a 10-minute walk. Everything in the unit worked well until the last 2 days. Not only did VACASA cancel this reservation and try to put us in a condo located across the road from the beach, but when we reported the 2 problems that arose, they never called back.

Sweet vacation getaway!

This place was very accurately described. Very lovely condo, right on the ocean with the BEST views! I LOVED sleeping with the sliding door slightly ajar to listen to the sounds of the waves. Bed was soft, a little squishy, but not uncomfortable. The ceiling fans need to either be balanced or replaced, but is a personal issue for me! I cooked the entire time I was there (1 week ) and brought a lot of my own items from home, but there was no cutting board so I purchased one and left it there, and there was no foil or baggies (bring them along). Shower was awesome, everything was meticulously clean, and I felt very safe and secure. Thank you!!

Place Needs attention

Oceanfront which is nice. Time for owner to spend some money to fix the place up. Get some decent towels. Why no kitchen towels? Fix bedroom closet and storage closet doors. Fix bathroom cabinet. Wash the Windows so the beach can be seen. Fix door to balcony so it opens easier. Countertop above dishwasher is disintegrating with wood particles falling into dishwasher. Killed roach in bedroom. Nice shower water pressure.

Beautiful Location, Run Down Condo

The Castle Reef is a fine complex with an excellent location, great beach access, and very nice pool. Our particular unit looked like an abused motel on the shores of Myrtle Beach. The unit was not mopped prior to our arrival, the ceilings were black from dust from the AC unit, the ceiling fans were warped downward and rusted, one AC vent had an anti-bacterial wipe stuffed into it, one electric socket was falling out of the wall, and one closet door was broken off it's track. Chipped doors, no trim in the bedroom with chipped paint, and a dated kitchen. I reported the broken door to the property management company (Vacasa) but received no reply. I have pictures to back up all of these claims. We actually had a wonderful week at the beach. The location is excellent, the beach was clean and not crowded, and the pool area was a lot of fun. Someone needs to invest some money into this unit to get it up to 21st century standards.

Beautiful

This condo has the perfect view! Check in was super easy as was check out. Place was very clean and so was the property. King bed is very comfortable! May stay here again when visiting next year.
