Fabulous apartment but claim for damages spoiled the holiday!
This apartment is amazing! The roof terrace is very comfortable and has a fabulous view over the rooftops to the sea. The apartment was very tastefully decorated and the furniture was of good quality. There were small issues which we informed the host about. For example the bathroom door handle was broken and you could get stuck in the bathroom. There were limited electrical sockets in some places, ants would come up the bathroom sink regularly and the plugs in the bathroom sinks did not work correctly. All of this was Ok and we managed to work around these issues. The cleaner came to check us out on our last day and we left the apartment happy and satisfied that we'd had a nice stay. Within the hour the host had contacted us to say there was damages which he would need 150 Euros to compensate him for. The photos he sent were extremely poor quality and did not adequately show any damages caused. There were only 2 of us in the apartment which can sleep 6 and we were out the majority of the time dealing with a death in the family. We were asked to be respectful of the apartment and we were. I have had to contact the Vrbo support team my first day home after our holiday to help me with the hosts demands. I would recommend any future traveler to take photos of every part of the apartment immediately you enter the apartment - even the pedal bin in the kitchen as this was one of the claims for damages the host informed us of. Ensure you take photos of all the walls and every piece of furniture to protect yourselves against fraudulent claim for damages.
