A beautiful, clean and well maintained property in a stunning location. Easy, scenic drive out to the coast and only 5 minutes from town. I would highly recommend this beautiful property.

Great place for long-term stay; beautiful area central to Masterton

This was our last stay (8 days) in a 21 day holiday in NZ from Oregon, USA. Had all we needed: washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Very private setting, and views from the deck and sunroom were magnificent. Only drawback was no BBQ grill which was included in amenities, but we made do with oven. Martin, owner, and Karli, property mgr, were both very proactive in communications. Would definitely recommend.

Cosy lodge in a great location

The lodge was a perfect place for our family (grandma, 2 parents, 2 young children) to base ourselves for a long weekend in the Wairarapa. The view is SPECTACULAR, and you really feel like you're a long way out in the country, despite being just 10 minutes from Masterton. The place was clean and cosy, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Lots of board games available for evening activities too. Thanks Martin and team for your communication and hospitality!

Fantastic view, peaceful, tranquil and well appointed

We loved staying here. The house was well set up for a family. Great views from the lounge and sun room and deck. Very peaceful and only 10 minutes to Masterton. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Thanks to the hosts!

Matariki Stay

Perfect for a peaceful get away. Has everything you need. Huge fireplace, heater and hot bots for bedtime for winter. Lovely views over the valley and sounds of the river. Selection of games and random music (CD's as no cables to hook up to). Discovered some new artists too! Very relaxing weekend. Will be back (with more firewood). Thank you Martin

Brief long weekend Stay

Lovely view and home afternoon sun was fantastic. Martin we were happy to stay and found it very peaceful. A wee observation re the DVD player. It has no HDMI port so won't work with a smart tv, all good we had gear to get around that. Would love to come back another time. Thanks

Recommend to all!

We had 2 days indoors due to the weather, but once the Sun came out you got to experience the view and the animals. The fireplace was a delight, on top of the beautiful cake. We had 3 kids under 7 , my dad and we enjoyed playing games and kids camping in the lounge, it was like been at home. The lighting in the main areas was very much mood lighting so if you happy to move lamps around to give more light when playing games it helps. Thanks Jane :)

Wonderful house

Beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed a few days staying in this comfortable home. The house is supplied with everything we could possibly need - including a delicious cake! The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. Jane gave us easy to follow directions to find the house and check in was very easy. The views were truly wonderful - river, mountains, pastures, grazing cattle and sheep. I would love to return for a longer stay some day.

Beautiful home in great location

Beautifully decorated home - well furnished. Great view over the river and hills. Private, sunny, good cooking facilities. Close to Masterton for provisions, but far enough away felt like escape. Used it as a base to explore the river, and the Tararuas. We were four adults and there was plenty of room. The cake left for us on arrival was a special and very welcome touch. We were (accidentally) there for Wings over Wairarapa so got a private airshow as well! Very nice. Would highly recommend.

Great location just out of Masterton

Great location just out of Masterton. Lovely warm house with a cozy open fire and stunning views of the river. Very relaxing place to get away for a weekend with the girls.

We were incredibly comfortable and the property itself and views were spectacular!!! Closer to town than we expected, yet we felt like we were a million miles away. We’ll certainly stay again.
