Extra-special 2 story cabin home nestled privately in its' own magical setting. Wraparound deck and window of wonder to the great southwest in the great room shares its' lake views and daily sunsets that are sure to bring awe and wonder. 3 bedrooms (each bedroom has a queen size bed), 2 1/2 baths (2,000 sq feet). Great layout - the master is on main level and bedrooms 2 and 3 are on the 2nd level with their own bedroom. Truly special if you want to escape and have privacy, or maybe you want to fish, visit Mesa Verde, Telluride or Durango - whatever your wish, this home holds the key.. Just 2 miles from McPhee marina and loading ramp (awesome fishing), 10 miles to Dolores/Cortez, 50 miles to Durango or Telluride. Note: 2.5 miles on a well-maintained 2 mile gravel dirt road to get to home. Fireplace cannot be used. Also of note - no air conditioner (hey, it's Colorado!) :) And if you still can't decide, check out the reviews - they are truthtellers!

Lovely Home and Location

Sweet cabin gorgeous view!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Very clean and everything we needed was provided. Amazing place to watch the solar eclipse! We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and it's views.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

There truly were no disappointments. Every detail was thought of ahead of time. The cabin was very clean, the beds were cozy, and the kitchen was well prepared for us to be able to cook, which we did more then once. And then there is the location. The sunset lasts forever and is stunning looking out over the lake. But that Paul’s in comparison to the night sky. On our second night, the Milky Way was clearly visible and the stars were so clear and bright that it seemed like you could reach out and touch them. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again if coming to the area.

Fantastic

Out stay was amazing. The views from the wrap-around deck are picturesque and the cabin was perfect for my family of 4. Easy access in-out in a very quiet development. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

A perfect cabin

This was the perfect cabin! The views are spectacular. The mountain tops in the distance behind the lake, sunsets.. amazing! It was nice to be away from the world for a bit. The location is isolated a bit and we loved it. Towns close. Had everything we needed. The host is super responsive. Will definately stay again if in the area.

Visiting Mesa Verde

Lovely home with a terrific view (and perfect weather). Tricky to find so make sure you get detailed instructions from the owner. We went the wrong direction twice, even with written directions. Google maps does not work though Apple is generally correct. Get distances from the owner. Not sure why the County uses number for streets rather than a little creativity and a normal street name. There were a couple of maintenance issues but nothing that effected our stay, and the owner was responsive. We visited Mesa Verde, which is a bit of a drive, but every drive in this part of CO is a trek. Nice place :)

Great location/view

Great visit. Nice clean well equipped cabin. Plenty of room with view of the lake. Perfect for family vacation in a nice area. Would definitely rent again if out this way.

Family Thanksgiving Reunion

We had a wonderful 2022 Thanksgiving! After a very unfortunate VRBO overbooking, Lori saved the day. Her home is very beautiful and we appreciated the welcome basket, water in the refrigerator and games for the kids on our arrival. We visited Dolores, Cortez, Telluride, Mancos, Durango and came back to a glass of wine and fantastic sunsets. We hope to come again! Thank you.

The cabin is great

The view from this cabin is amazing! My kids and I had a great time and really enjoyed the property. There was a mountain lion in the driveway on our final night, so make sure to keep an eye out. It was a really cool experience. You'll find all the cookware you need other than baking dishes, so if you plan to bake cookies or brownies, bring your own. Washer/dryer/dishwasher and stove were all in working order. There are no shades in the bedrooms, which allowed for awesome encounters for us. My daughter woke up on the first night to an owl staring in at her.

Storybook Christmas with family

We arrived on Christmas Eve and spent 5 days in this beautiful cabin with a breathtaking view. It was perfect for our family. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Everything was very clean and beautifully decorated. We knew the restaurants would be closed on Christmas Day so we bought supplies at the grocery store in Cortez and came prepared. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the dishes and cookware that we needed. We were about an hours drive from Durango. We went there twice - one time to ride the Polar Express Train. The other day we scheduled a sleigh ride. It was awesome!! We had planned to go to Telluride but the road was closed due to an avalanche and winter storm. The snow was so beautiful all around the cabin. Lori was easily assessable and answered all of our questions quickly. I highly recommended this home for your stay in this area.

Amazing veiws

We stayed here for a work trip and brought the family along. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The veiw is stunning even with the lake down. At night the stars are vivid and bright. All in all it was a great stay!!

New Orleans Lady to the mountains

This property was so beautiful. If you are looking for off the beaten path, this is it! So peaceful and quite. Clean and easy check in & out. We visited Silverton, Durango and Telluride during our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better quiet spot to chill!

5-star experience in southwest Colorado

We could not have been more pleased with our stay in this beautiful home. The large picture windows and private deck showcased the gorgeous views, spectacular sunsets and brilliant night sky. The comfortable and well-appointed furnishings made for a welcome retreat after long days enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The location is perfect with an isolated feel but close to numerous attractions, including McPhee Reservoir, Mesa Verde National Park and the entire Four Corners region. The cute town of Dolores is right down the road and Cortez and Mancos are close by as well. Lori, our host, was attentive to our needs and prompt in replying to our queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to make it back here again.

Great View House for family getaway

My son and I completely enjoyed our stay here. It was a very convenient check-in with the code texted to us when we booked/paid on VRBO. This beautiful authentic log house is tucked into a Juniper grove with a beautiful view of a lake through the main windows. Close to the loading dock at McPhee Reservoir where we spent some time. Sometimes you get places with the owner's tacky leftovers, but not here. All the appointments were first class. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived. We spent lots of time in the living room on the real leather furniture, looking out over the view to the lake. The deck was great as well. Everything worked. Direct TV was great. Internet was no problem (though we realized partway through our stay that the T-mobile 5G was so good there that we were over 100/30 MB so our mobile devices were even faster.) Great place. We will go back again. Also- for some great food when you are in the area, there is a new restaurant- can't remember the name but it is at S 11th ST and Central Avenue in Dolores- right across from GST Liquors. Try the Chicken Fried Steak- you won't be disappointed.
