Enjoy a trip to historic Arcadia for antique shopping or adventure out to Myakka State Park or TreeUmph! or even local beaches.

A true 1950s Florida Cracker Home completely renovated without losing any of its unique charm. Enjoy the large wrap around porch, outside seating and bon fire for roasting marshmallows in the fully fenced backyard. Kitchen is fully equipped and ready for your home cooked meals.

Escape from the rat race

A slice of Old Florida away from the congestion, development & gridlock that is destroying the state. Privacy, campfires, cow visits, long walks, lots of stars and a huge porch with rocking chairs.

Second time staying and will stay again!

Overall, we love this property. Mari is extremely quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The cottage itself is secluded and feels very homey. Our family of 5 is always very comfortable when we stay there. I had one suggestion about blackout curtains because light does come through the current curtains quite easily. Mari immediately responded to my message and said they would be happy to put up blackout curtains. We will absolutely stay at this property again in the future! Thank you to Mari for being a wonderful host!

Magical

We are a family with small kids and our furbabes, Country Oak was just what we needed. Cottage was set up with the essentials, the wrap around porch was magnificent, the views and countryside was delightful. Property owners have the right setup for their guests. Easy to access, safety and peace and quiet. Thank you for a wonderful time. We enjoyed Myakka and surrounding areas. We look forward to a return visit!

Cozy quiet place

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. We had a little confusion as cottage address is not on the road, but thru the property’s gate. Very comfortable place with huge wraparound porch.

Great for Premier Sports Complex

We were in town for a tournament at Premier Sports Conplex. The drive is about 15 minutes. This was much better for us than staying in a hotel! Lots of room, two bathrooms, pool table, and fire pit. We loved it.

Peaceful Cottage

This is our 2nd time staying here and it continues to fulfill my need for peace and tranquility. Large fenced yard for my dog, a well-stocked and clean house for normal everyday living and screened/non-screened porch options for relaxing. Heaven! The hostess, Mari, is communicative when need be but allows us to feel like the place is ours. Thanks, Mari, for continuing to be a gracious host. FYI... I did notice the extra sweet touch of the "Welcome" scrolled on the fleece blanket at the end of the bed . Nice touch! :-) Thanks for everything!

Great property! Already booked for next year.

This is a wonderful property. It is clean, private, and has everything you could need. The house itself is small, but I think you can see that from the pictures. We stayed there with our family of 5 (including 3 children ages 4-10), and it worked great. We loved the wrap-around porch. We saw horses, deer, and rabbits on the property, which my kids loved. The owner was quick to respond to messages and very friendly. I have no complaints. We already booked again for next year! I would definitely recommend to friends.

Peaceful Getaway in Natural Florida

As others have mentioned in their reviews, the pictures do not do the property justice. What a great, peaceful cottage in the country with deep porches (both screened and open) with a fully fenced huge backyard that allowed our dog to run free without fear of having her run off. A fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare our meals with a quick drive to Publix Supermarket about 10 minutes away. We were a little early for our arrival so decided to have some fresh ice cream at Dakin's Dairy. Yum! We had a minor situation in which we needed to contact the owner and Mari was very responsive and accommodating. What a delightful, relaxing home. We have already booked our return trip. Thanks for opening your home to us, Mari! Happy New Year!

R&R Spot Soccer Tournament

It was myself and my three sons…we came in for a soccer tournament. This house was perfect, in every way. We were close enough to everything and able to rest and recover between games. My boys want to come back…when it doesn’t involve soccer.

Magical cottage!

We are in love with this place! The pictures really don’t do it justice. The wraparound porch with pool table and bar with a built-in checker board was the big kid’s favorite spot. There is also a bathroom on the wraparound porch that is absolutely amazing! My favorite place! The tv has the best subscription and the little electric fireplace sets such a mood. Awesome fire pit that’s fully stocked in the backyard. This is out in the sticks so definitely get your groceries. About 45 minutes from the beach. We went to Nokomis and really enjoyed the white sands and shallow water. Even got to say hi to the cows one morning. Super accommodating owners as well. Definitely made me think I need a few things at my own home!!!

Perfect

This is exactly what I needed. The country, peace and hum of the animals and crickets. I truly felt I was at home. My 15 yr old pup felt young for a weekend with zoomies and freedom of no leash. This was for both our birthdays and we didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much, for creating a perfect environment and the happy birthday sign was touching. You just can’t go wrong here.

You won't want to leave!

Can't help but enjoy and relax...you will love the property and the cottage . Can't resist sitting on the wrap around porch to hear the cattle, birds and other wild life.Perfect for reading. Peace in the country

I came down and stayed with my 14-year-old dog that goes everywhere with me… I had to attend a professional conference in Sarasota and this was my evening retreat… Enjoyed every minute of it and it was a great break from long days of academia! The host was very gracious and accommodating in every way… It was a great stay and look forward to staying again!
