Welcome to Cerca del Playa! Take the .7mi stroll to one of the best beaches in SoCal from this 1900sqft home. Perfect for family, friends, or business travelers alike! Prime location with easy access to the Village, LJ Shores, Birch Aquarium, UCSD, UTC Shopping & amazing restaurants. Open floor plan boasts an entry level master bedroom, large living room with vaulted ceilings, balcony, and a fireplace. Two additional bedrooms and a game room/bedroom downstairs. We do have a queen and twin sized blow up mattress if you require additional sleeping arrangements. It can be set up in the upstairs living room. Parties over 10 people are an additional $20/per guest per day. We have a small fenced in backyard. We have space for one car in the garage. We also have an electric car charger in the garage for an additional $30/day. (Please only add the parking fee if you have an electric car and want to charge at our home, otherwise parking is free!).

Great place to stay in La Jolla

This was a great place to stay on our family reunion trip to La Jolla. Tiffany’s place was the perfect spot for my family of 6 plus my parents. Tiffany was very responsive to any communications and I would definitely stay here again for our next trip to La Jolla. A, highly recommended.

Nice house with great hosts

The home was very nice. The hosts really went out of their way to make the home special. The little things like the fresh cookies and champagne along with the hand written note was a classy touch. The only minor drawback was the noise from the street. Outside of that, the home was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, the house was very comfortable and everything we needed to have a great time was there. We really enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again.

Great place for 3 generations. The kitchen had everything we needed and the family room was a great hang out place. Very close to Beach sunsets restaurants and shopping.

Spacious, clean, modern but comfy & well equipped central location in La Jolla

The La Jolla Heights property did not disappoint! The location is close to everything (food, shopping) and you can get to the beach and La Jolla shores in an easy 10-15 minute walk. The property itself was VERY clean and the house had all the accommodations you would hope for and then some (spacious, well equipped kitchen with options for coffee/tea, eating in or out, supplemental space heaters/fans in each room, fireplace, deck, variety of beach gear, LOTS of closet/storage space, modern touches like phone charging bedside lights, computer set up and ready to use with internet access, lighted/defogging mirrors in the bathrooms and even a toilet with a bidet if you're so inclined!). I absolutely loved the mattress and pillow options in the master. Tiffany is very helpful and responsive if you need anything but gives you the right amount of privacy and space. Very welcoming with a nice guide to your stay in the house and area, along with fresh cookies and a bottle of prosecco. Although our party didn't have children, I did notice many safety features that would make this a good choice for families (staircase barriers, lots of games downstairs). An overall nice mix of modern, classic, comfy, clean and well equipped rental - we had a great time and would definitely recommend this host and property - thank you and we'll be back!

La Jolla retreat

Awesome trip! Perfect place to unwind after our beach adventures. It was a special trip because I was able to bring my elderly Mother and adult brother who, without this opportunity will likely never be able to experience this beautiful area. It was a blessing to be able to see their faces light up with this experience. Beautiful city, beautiful home, beautiful memories to last forever!!

Awesome La Jolla location & the perfect stay!

Tiffany’s home exceeded my expectations, the pictures truly don’t do it justice. You can tell Tiffany put many thoughtful touches throughout the home to make sure your stay is comfortable. The home itself is very spacious and airy feeling throughout, I had a group of 3 but this could definitely accommodate a couple families. I would 100% recommend this stay to anyone looking to be in the La Jolla area!

Thoughtful & Welcoming La Jolla Escape

We were visiting San Diego for our daughter's wedding and found this gem of a property in La Jolla. First off, Tiffany is the best! Very responsive and committed to making your stay the best experience possible. What we loved... Arrival: Greeting card, macaroons and champagne upon arrival Garage with automatic opener that held minivan Immediately noticed the comfortable beachy décor (lego flowers so cute!) and spotlessly clean and open floor plan Centrally located to all the things we wanted to do Around the house: Thoughtfully placed water on your nightstand along with charger lamps to keep your phone handy Very comfortable mattress and pillows Lighted bathroom mirrors useful for applying makeup and getting hair done for wedding Bidet toilet seat in master, a bit of luxury Tons of closet space and lots of hangers which were handy for all the changes of clothes we needed for the wedding Dark curtains in bedroom were nice to encourage sleeping in Oversized Washer and dryer well stock with supplies Cute balcony with a huge Torrey Pine to admire Entertaining: Open floor plan that lets people mingle Child safety stair locks that protected our toddler niece while visiting Basket of blankets for all to cozy up on the generous couches Able to host a brunch for 15 people in our family with generous and beautiful serving ware, plenty of cutlery, coffee cups, etc. Huge refrigerator, pots and pans and cooking utensils – everything you need to entertain Used the printer to create an omelette bar menu for guests to fill out their filling choices Going to the Beach: Easy walk to the beach with everything you need provided (chairs, toys, lots of towels) and a wagon to bring it in Sunscreen, lotion and aloe vera bottles handy We were able to walk to Barbarella’s, a wonderful restaurant near the beach where we had our first date many years ago. Many thanks to Tiffany for providing such a wonderful home for our family to gather on such an important occasion.

Welcome to La Jolla’s best kept secret - When can we go back?

I booked this lovely rental to celebrate my best friend who, like many couples during the height of the pandemic, had to adjust her dream wedding plans. Being robbed of the opportunity to partake in all the events leading up to the big day, we decided to host her and 7 other ladies in what I call the post bachelorette “Wife of the Party” weekend. Since San Diego is where the newlywed and the majority of the girls in attendance went to college, I knew that I had to find a place that would not only wow them all but ultimately raise the bar. Spoiler alert: this home did that on every level so allow me to paint the picture of this extraordinary rental + our experience. First & foremost - Tiffany is by far the greatest host I had the pleasure of working + booking with. Not only was she extremely responsive during my initial inquiry but she continued to go above and beyond expectations throughout the entirety of our stay. Upon arrival we were delightfully surprised with a lovely bottle of champagne along with a thoughtfully written card that welcomed our group. The welcome packet provided during check-in covered everything from the house amenities, parking instructions, travel routes when navigating to & from La Jolla, dining//local attraction spots with comprehensive feedback based on personal experience, photos, and more. As someone who works in production and content/experiential marketing, the level of detail the host provided is unmatched. The House. There is always that fear that it won't match the photos from the listing, but if I’m being honest the photos don't do it enough justice. The house is absolutely beautiful and you can tell a lot of time was put into the design. In true San Diego fashion, the decor amplifies the nautical beach theme complimented with deep navy blue, ocean teal, & white accent colors. The game changer was the updated amenities, top of the line appliances, multiple desks for the remote workers in the group, and a spacious floor plan. Major bonus points on having a plethora of card/board games to entertain us during down time, beautiful flatware for serving catered meals, and beach equipment that would have easily cost us a couple hundred dollars to rent. We truly were blown away by this luxurious smart home that I’m already planning to rebook here again later this summer with my family. Whatever the occasion for the stay may be, trust me when I say this, you will not be disappointed!

Amazing gem close to beach and shops

We rented this place for spring break and it did not disappoint! Spacious for our group of 8 people. There was a master bedroom/bathroom on the main floor that was easily accessible for my mom and dad (who has a hard time with stairs). Very clean and new inside. Living room/dining room was perfect for family game night (lots of board games provided) and dinner gatherings. There is a little balcony that has outdoor furniture if you want to enjoy your breakfast outside. 3 bedrooms are downstairs with comfortable beds and tvs in each room, a computer and desk to check emails, do work, etc. The bathroom had these cool mirrors that would defog while someone was showering, which my teenagers loved!! This place has lots of perks, one being the owner of the place. Tiffany was amazing and so easy to work with. She provided us with sand toys, boogie boards, a surfboard, beach blanket and tent as well as a wagon to transport everything in. Plenty of beach towels as well. One day I left some of the towels out and Tiffany took them, washed and folded them and left them on the porch!! This place has it all and is only a short drive to La Jolla Shores Beach as well as La Jolla Cove with all the fun shops and fine dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back!!

We are really blessed to be able to live here and we are excited to share our home with you! We live next to Cerca del Playa (CDP) and have been using it for family and friends that come to visit. We are happy to open our doors to others so that they can experience the joy of La Jolla beach life!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We were fortunate enough to purchase this house when it became available. When we bought it, it was in complete disrepair. Since that time we have poured countless hours in updating and refinishing it to make it a beautiful haven for our friends and family to come relax and visit... and now we are opening our doors to you too!

We bought Cerca del Playa (CDP) as an extension to our home for when we have family and friends in town. We live next door to the house (and use an ancillary room at CDP for our home business) except for when all our kids are home at which point we live there ourselves. Because of that you will find that CDP should have everything you need to make you feel at home but, if you do find that you need something, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

One of our favorite things to do is to take a nice stroll to the beach, walk to the pier and back, stopping for a bite to eat in the village or maybe a scoop of ice cream for the walk home! It is really magical to be so close to it all!

If you need to rent a car we have a 2011 Ford Explorer available at the property on the Turo site. It seats seven people and we also have booster seats available on request.
