Pros & Cons

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort itself was wonderful, it’s a bit dated, but having multiple pools , a restaurant on site (for breakfast), a ride to & from the beach daily 10am-10pm, & friendly staff compensate. The unit we stayed in was booked through a 3rd party, so I don’t know if booking through the resort would’ve been better. Ours was 2 bedrooms, 2 bath. One of the bedrooms was missing a big chunk of blinds & had a sheer curtain, leaving no privacy. We let the property management company know, but after 2 hours of waiting to hear when someone would come, we decided to buy darkening curtains to cover the window & also a rod & 2 pairs of curtains to cover the closet that was being used for storage, but had no doors. The unit smelled very musty. The carpets could probably use a deep clean to help with that. When we booked, I called the rental company to make sure this unit was top floor. Upon arrival we found out it wasn’t, & had very loud neighbors above us after “quiet time”. Price was $1144 for 3 nights. This was overpriced in our opinion for having broken blinds, doors missing, burned out bulbs in both bathrooms, musty odor, thin walls, & found a cockroach the last day. No it wasn’t a palmetto bug, an actual house roach. We notified the property manager, so we hope that was addressed, along with the broken blinds & bedroom storage closet without doors. I would stay at this resort again, but in a different, updated, top floor unit. We weren’t offered any sort of compensation, unfortunately.

Great winter retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was clean and well-maintained. It contained all the essentials for our stay of 2 months. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all I needed to cook meals. The nearby Food Lion market was convenient shopping. Total Wine store in Myrtle Beach had the best selection and prices for wine. We enjoyed meals at Sea Captains House in Myrtle Beach, Flying Fish market and grill nearby. We walked almost every day along the beach watching the waves, people and their dogs, the foxes and birds. We really enjoyed the natural beauty and history available at Huntington State Park. Trips to Charleston gave us the opportunity to learn history at the amazing Boone Hall Plantation, taking horse carriage tour of historical district with knowledgeable/entertaining guide, the Slave Market museum, open markets for shopping (artwork, handcrafts like Gullah baskets woven with unique designs handed down from generation to generation). The Naval museum in Mt.Pleasant (located across the bay from Charleston) was a favorite of my husband. The weather was cooler than expected but we had most days with sunshine. The staff at the office were great. Easy to check in & out. We did not have laundry in the apt. but there were machines on our floor down the hall. If you are in the market for antiques, there is a flea market along Hwy 17 thaT sells everything.

Elevator and luggage carts! Indoor and outdoor pools. Wish owner had blankets and blender but we made it work lol.
