Casa Cliffside is a sprawling, 4,000 sq ft hillside home with beautiful ocean views, an infinity-edge pool, and an outdoor living space that spans the length of the home. The location is perfect for those that want peace and tranquility with quick access to amenities.

This home is perched high in the hills of Playa Ocotal, a small beach town just south of Playas del Coco. Playa Ocotal is known for calm surf, and beautiful sunsets and is one of the better spots for off-beach snorkeling in the area. There are two restaurants in Playa Ocotal – Father Rooster and Maracuya (at the Bahia Pez Vela Resort). The latter offers day passes to use their pools and facilities but remember, all beaches in Costa Rica are public so you’re free to visit the beach at the resort.

Playa Ocotal is located just 40 minutes from the Guanacaste Airport (LIR), near Liberia. You’re also just a 10-minute drive to the downtown of Playas del Coco where you’ll find several supermarkets, fruit vendors, and more restaurants, bars, and shops to count. Enjoy a walk along the beach boardwalk or stroll the beach from point to point for a 3km walk. Many scuba diving, sport fishing, and sightseeing tours depart from Playa Ocotal and Playas del Coco. You’re also close to several area day trip spots – waterfalls, hiking, hot springs, and mud baths, cultural experiences, and river tours. Enjoy the plethora of restaurants and activities in the area, then retire to the peace and tranquility of this beautiful vacation home.

Entering the main level of the home, you are presented with beautiful views of the hillsides of Playa Ocotal through a wall of windows and doors that carries from the living area, through the dining space, and into the kitchen. The living area has 2 comfortable sofas and the dining table seats 8 – all under a beautiful vaulted ceiling that expands this already massive space. There is a half bathroom off of the living area and access to the single-car garage and laundry room.

The kitchen offers a massive amount of space with breakfast bar seating for 4, a double oven, dishwasher, gas range, and full-size fridge. There is also a gas grill outside on the terrace. The kitchen is well-equipped with small appliances and all of the amenities of home. Cook up a feast yourself or let us connect you with a great local chef! The living, dining and kitchen areas all have doors leading to the partially covered terrace with outdoor dining for 4, conversation areas, and lounge chairs. The terrace spans the entire length of the home and has a beautiful infinity-edge pool overlooking Playa Ocotal and the Pacific Ocean.

Back inside, just past the kitchen is a den with a comfy couch, loveseat, and Smart TV. A hallway extends to the end of the home with a full bathroom and the first bedroom on one side and the primary bedroom on the other. The first bedroom stays cool and shaded and has a queen bed and armoire for clothes storage. The primary bedroom sits across the hall and has a large walk-in closet, king bed, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower stall and large jacuzzi tub. Enjoy views of the hills and ocean from all areas of the primary bedroom – even the bathtub! You also have private access to the terrace.

The remaining 3 bedrooms are on the lower level of the home and are accessed via a staircase from the upper-level terrace. These bedrooms each have their own access from the lower-level balcony. The first bedroom has a king bed, an ensuite bathroom, and a large closet. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a dresser and armoire for storage. The third bedroom has a queen bed with a dresser for storage. The last two bedrooms share a jack & jill bathroom with a shower stall. All of the bedrooms have tropical views and there are peek-a-boo ocean views from the balcony.

Guests will be most comfortable with a rental car for their stay, which we can assist with!  The home is perched high in the hills of the Ocotal and is not accessible by foot or golf cart. We do not recommend this home without a rental car or private driver.

The layout the home has 2 bedrooms on the main level and 3 additional bedrooms on the lower level. These 3 bedrooms have separate entrances, accessed from an exterior walkway. Groups travelling with kids should consider if this layout works for them, since guests have to go outside to access these bedrooms.
