Family Suite for 4 people
Suite 2 is large and ideal for families, a couple and two children are well accommodated. Balcony with views of the mountains, well ventilated and bright. It has a mini kitchen consisting of a sink with basic kitchen utensils, minibar, microwave, electric coffee maker and sandwich maker for breakfast and quick meals, air conditioning, TV with Netflix, table and chairs, with good cable internet. We ask that you bring bed and bath linens, if you cannot, we will offer them for an additional fee.
Guests remain in possession of the keys and are free to leave and arrive at any time once settled in. The sockets are all 110V, except for the microwave where it remains connected. The three keys are the one for the suite, the hallway railing and the one for the parking gate. In the access corridor we have a console where we have leaflets with information about food delivery, tours, taxis etc.
Suite 2 accommodates two to 4 people, has the largest balcony, very airy, with a private bathroom and electric shower. facing the street with views of the high mountains.
We have, next to the parking lot, a community leisure area with kitchen and barbecue, gas stove, kitchen utensils, table and chairs so that guests can enjoy and prepare coffee or lunch with a good barbecue. We have filters with ice water and traditional clay filters.
Our water is supplied by SABESP, which guarantees safe consumption.
If you prefer or need it, we provide bed and bath linen for an additional fee and, if possible, request it at the time of booking through our contact details.
We advise guests to preferably come with their own vehicles so that they can have quick access to the numerous and magnificent tourist attractions of Ilhabela. We have access via the Dutra and Airton Senna highways, leaving for the Tamoios highway, towards the north coast to the city of São Sebastião where you will have to cross by ferry to the island, also via the coast on the Rio-Santos Highway, which is part of BR 101 until San Sebastian. The queue for the ferry is usually long on long holidays but you can book a time in advance on the DERSA website for an extra fee.
Ilhabela is located on the north coast of São Paulo, 90 km from Ubatuba, 200 km from the city of São Paulo, 170 km from Paraty and 450 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The main route for those who want to visit Ilhabela is the ferry that leaves from São Sebastião and serves as the only means of public transport between the mainland and Ilhabela. Cars and motorbikes can also cross the ferry, meaning if you have a car, you can travel around Ilhabela with it.
To get to Ilhabela, you will need to use two different means of transport. This is because the ferry departs from São Sebastião and there are no airports in the region (only helipads). In other words, travel by road will be mandatory for almost all tourists, with the exception of those who use a private boat, helicopter or are already staying in São Sebastião.
The best airports to access Ilhabela for those living outside the state of São Paulo are: São José dos Campos Airport (SJK), 113 km away; Guarulhos Airport (GRU), 187 km away; Congonhas Airport (CGH) and Viracopos Airport (VCP), located in Campinas and 285 km from Ilhabela. From the three airports, you will need to travel to the city of São Sebastião, where the ferry leaves for Ilhabela.
The ferry that crosses the continent to Ilhabela departs from the city of São Sebastião and transports both passengers and vehicles. There are no bridges or airports connecting Ilhabela to the mainland, so the ferry is the most common means of getting between the two. The ferry is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, with intervals that vary, on average, from half an hour to an hour.
To cross the ferry to Ilhabela, simply go through the toll gate (as if it were a toll booth) and follow the queue for the ferry. Drivers are instructed on where to stop their vehicle and the crossing only takes thirty minutes. Without a queue, the whole process will be very quick. The problem occurs on days with a large flow of tourists, such as holidays and school vacation periods, when queues for the crossing can take hours. In these cases, the most recommended option is to pay for the scheduled service, in which you define the ferry crossing time in advance and avoid queuing. Of course, convenience comes at a price: the crossing to Ilhabela by appointment costs almost four times more than the normal crossing. On the other hand, there will be no waiting hours.
Ferry operation
São Sebastião to Ilhabela
Every day: 11:10 pm; 11:30 pm; 0h; 0:10; 1:15 am; from 2am to 5am, with a maximum break of one hour; from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm, with a maximum interval of half an hour.
Ilhabela to São Sebastião
Every day: 11:10 pm; 11:30 pm; 0h; 0:30; 0:45; 1h40; from 2:30 am to 5:30 am, with a maximum break of one hour; from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm, with a maximum interval of half an hour.
Anyone traveling to the north coast of São Paulo by car needs to take some precautions. The roads are of excellent quality, but with a lot of tolls and full of radars for speed control. There are so many that it is common for drivers to accumulate enough points to lose their driver's license on the same trip. Pay attention to electronic inspection warnings and do not exceed the speed of the stretch of road. It is extremely common to get fines on the roads heading towards the north coast of São Paulo.
Another factor that must be observed when traveling is the high season period in Ilhabela and the entire coast of SP. On busy days, it is common for the road to be highly congested and the ferry crossing to take hours, forming kilometer-long queues of cars trying to reach Ilhabela. In this case, try to avoid the busiest times on the road and prefer to buy the ferry pass by appointment. The cost will be higher, but the waiting time will be fine.
