The Anchorage är en traditionell grekisk stuga som har omsorgsfullt renoverats för att passa behoven hos 21: a århundradet resenärer. Det är den perfekta platsen för ett par som letar efter en lugn och romantisk semester i ett stenkast från en vacker gyllene strand. En mild, 20 minuters promenad tar dig till den venetianska borgen i Koroni och därefter ligger butiker och bekvämligheter i staden. Längs hamnen finns många caféer och tavernor.

Koroni är ett blomstrande samhälle med en konstfestival. Konserter och utställningar arrangeras från maj till oktober. detta område av Peloponnesos har ett soligt klimat med blå himmel och en ljuskvalitet som inspirerar lokala konstnärer. Det regnar sällan i juli och augusti och med temperaturer över 25 grader den har en nästan perfekt klimat från april till oktober.

Koroni drar nytta av direktflyg med Easy Jet från Gatwick till Kalamata och även British Airways och Thomas Cooke använder denna flygplats som ligger 45 minuter med bil från stugan - transfer kan ordnas mot en rimlig kostnad. Atens internationella flygplats är 3. 5 timmar bort med bil med hjälp av en mycket bra motorvägssystemet.

Stugan används av ägarna för en betydande period av året och som ett resultat det känns mer som vistas i ditt eget hem än en semester låt. Fastigheten är omgiven av en stor terrass som delvis är skuggad. Det är en härlig plats att sitta och njuta av en måltid samtidigt som man tar i vyn över bukten och Taygetos bergen bortom. Den välfyllda trädgården har en skuggig sittgrupp och det finns off road parkering. Inom stugan finns allt du kan behöva, snabb hastighet bredband, en tvättmaskin, ett mycket välutrustat kök, luftkonditionering en utanför grill och även ett litet teleskop för att se natthimlen.

Zaga stranden, bara två minuter ner en väg från stugan, är hem för häckande sköldpaddor. De klara, turkosa vattnet i havet är inbjudande för tidigt på morgonen simmar eller att kyla ner senare under dagen. På stranden finns en vindsurfing och cykeluthyrning center för gäster som känner sig mer aktiva. The Anchorage är en riktigt romantisk gömma undan. Amazing place to relax

Beautiful villa, lovelingly kitted out, superb view, relaxing and comfortable. 5 minutes walk down to Zaga beach with sun beds provided! Jina could not have been more helpful and we settled in immediately for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Definately a home from home with everything we needed provided. Excellent place to chill out.

Perfect retreat

From the booking process onwards our holiday went smoothly. The cottage was everything we hoped for and more. Sea views, beautifully furnished, well stocked kitchen with sharp knives! And the blessing of air-conditioning in the bedroom at night. We loved watching for shooting stars at night but sadly missed the sea turtles hatching by a week or so. In short we had a wonderful holiday and have many happy memories. Thank you for sharing the Anchorage with us.

Honeymoon-Cottage mit Bad im Hof

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und vermissen das Meeresrauschen und die Ruhe. Das Häuschen ist liebevoll eingerichtet mit sehr vielen individuellen Details und Dekorationsstücken. In der Küche fehlt es an Nichts und vom Balkon konnten wir unser Frühstück mit Blick auf das Meer genießen. Die Fliegengitter erfüllen ihren Zweck und das Bett mit dem Topper war sehr angenehm. Wir haben die Klimaanlage nicht gebraucht, da es abends nicht so aufgeheizt war. Die Pflanzen blühen, die Bienen summen - es ist ein wunderbarer Ort zum Entspannen. Der Strand ist zwei Minuten entfernt und das klare Meer bietet mit einer vorgelagerten Sandbank ein super Ort zum Schwimmen und Spielen. Koroni ist ein nettes kleines Städtchen mit angenehmer Atmosphäre. Zum Duschen (bis 1,80 m Größe komfortabel) und auf die Toilette muss man in das außen gelegene Bad im Anbau (in der Online-Beschreibung nicht ersichtlich), was besonders nachts die eine oder andere lebendige Überraschung mit sich bringt. Die Badtüre und die Außendusche und der ganze vordere Garten sind direkt von dem höhergelegenen Weg/Sträßchen einsehbar, so dass die völlige Privatheit nur auf der Terrasse möglich war. Wir haben unser Auto während des Aufenhalts oben an der Straße in 250 m Entfernung geparkt, da uns die einspurige Zufahrt zu umständlich war. Die Abstimmung mit Jina war unkompliziert. Der Preis des Anchorage ist selektiv und für Liebhaber und ist es trotz der Lage nur wert, wenn jemand die ganze Ausstattung (u. a. Eismaschine, Mikrowelle, Waschmaschine, schnelles Internet) nutzt, da das außen liegende Bad in dieser Preiskategorie unüblich ist.

The Anchorage, Koroni

I had a good feeling about this when I saw the description and images on the Owners Direct website. Usually I leave finding a place for my holidays until the last minute but I decided to take a chance and booked well ahead. If your a box ticker looking for an equivalent to a corporate style hotel-like apartment I don't think this is for you. The Anchorage has real personality. It is quirky in places, eg outside loo but is, in a word, delightful. All the carefully nurtured spaces around the cottage have their own small but unique qualities: the entrance, a small bower nearby with its blue concrete seat, the landscaped driveway for the car and the main terrace overlooking the olive grove below and the sea where I spent most of my time. This is quite private part covered and is free from being directly overlooked. It has table, chairs, external sofa, an awning over the East side and various other useful items: it became for me the main room for my stay albeit outside. ((I didn't use the internal living room which is a bit limited but it was useful for the occasions when I had to work). The WiFi is limited in its data allowance but was ok for me most of the time and I had the strong feeling the cottage was telling me to forget about work and go relax outside... Every morning I walked out onto the terrace looking over a blue sky and sea, then walked down through the olive grove and straight onto the beach and into the sea: it is a very shallow gradation so very safe. The owners have been most careful to sense the good aspects of this location and develop the cottage sensitively. I came to value the walk either along the beach or along the small road into town (Koroni) about 25mins with views along the way. The town is quite lively and the Fort overlooking Koroni is intriguing with a lovely little Greek Orthodox church within their grounds. There is local help on hand with Jina always responding to my texts promptly if there was something I was unsure about. NB Bring mosquito spray for evenings; once I used mine I didn't have further problems. I should mention on arrival I had a nice card from the owners and a bottle of good Greek wine and a large jar of home-made lemon marmalade that was delicious. All in all the combination of location, fantastic weather, and a beautifully developed little home was genuinely delightful and I would wholehearted recommend it.

Beautiful, peaceful and stunning cottage

We had a fantastic 10 days in Greece staying in the loveliest of Greek cottages only 2 minutes from the beach. The cottage was very clean and so well equipped (iron, hairdryer, microwave, blenders, full set of great knives, etc etc). There was both a very Greek landscaped garden with a canopy of vines as well as a great terrace. Our 2 year old loved a small paddling pool which the owners left for us in the courtyard. We got up in the mornings walked through a small olive grove straight on to the beach, headed back for lunch and back to the beach again for the afternoon. Evenings were spent looking at the stars from the very comfy day bed (with wine). Jina and Nick who manage the property were always on hand to help if we needed them and we felt very welcomed. We would definitely go back and I'm tempted not to add our review as we'd like to keep this cottage as our secret.

Everything We Wanted!

We love Koroni, we love Zaga and the early morning turtle trails that keep it such a special beach, and we love the cottage! So yes, we're unashamedly in love with the place, the town and the region. Having come here last year and been so impressed, we feared that somehow, possibly, this year it might not quite live up to expectations. But it did. The tranquillity and beauty of the place were just as we remembered it, and the cottage was first-rate in every respect. We loved the privacy it affords, while at the same time providing a view of the sea that will sustain us on cold wet mornings in November back in the UK! Will we come back again some time? That's like asking if it's ever sunny in Greece. Steve and Suzanne.

Beautiful Cottage

We loved our holiday at the Anchorage. It is so comfortable and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We loved waking up to a view and sounds of the sea. There are tavernas a short walk either way along the beach. Koroni is lovely a selection of nice restaurants at the harbour. We would love to return.

Excellent, lovely cottage by the beach

The Anchorage is a wonderful property a minutes walk from the beach. Really nicely laid out with great facilities. Overall we had a wonderful two weeks. Koroni is close by and we got to explore the local area - especially had fun at the windsurf centre on the beach. We'd recommend the place in a heart beat

A corner of unspoilt paradise.

The first impression of the cottage is that it's not a rental property - you are a guest in a very intelligently and well equipped home. And the hosts are generous. I don't just mean the welcome bottle of wine and delicious homemade marmalade. The necessities are there- cleaning products, bin bags, tea, coffee, salt, sugar etc. but there are a lot of extras - use of their telescope for example or phone cards for cheap telephone calls to Europe. Exras that are not frequent in so many rental properties. We stayed there for three weeks and it very quickly became home (we have already booked for next year).The cottage is exactly as descibed: the perfect retreat for a couple wanting a relaxing holiday as near as possible to an unspoilt beach. No disco bars with loud music here. A tavern for meals or drinks at either end and then the most incredible surprise of turtle nests. About a hundred of them when we were there. The mothers lay in June and the eggs hatch in August - just another thing that makes this place so special. The managers are a discrete presence ready to jump in and help with any problem. Getting there and checking in went very smoothly thanks to them and they went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. Our thanks to them and the owners.

Just perfect.

We had a wonderful week in a beautiful cottage and grounds; a very short stroll from the beach. Private terrace surrounded by greenery for lounging and listening to the sounds of the crickets, sea, warm breeze in the trees...couldn't want any more. Very helpful manager too. Would recommend Resalto Sailing Cove for food and Giannis Axiotopoulos for singing taxi service.

Little Piece of Paradise

Words can't even begin to describe how simply perfect our stay was. My boyfriend and I spent a week here and it was just delightful. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The owners left us a beautiful welcome note and included some delicious homemade jam and a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed drinking on the balcony with the breathtaking view of the ocean. The house was spotless, organized and had everything we could have needed and more. Having air conditioning in the rooms was an added bonus after a long day relaxing on the beach, which is only a 2 minute walk away. Also for all you watersports fans, there is a great windsurf rental place on the same beach. My boyfriend and I used a couple of their windsurfing boards and kayaks and they were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. I could not recommend this house more to anyone looking for a beachy paradise home away from home, which is minutes away from the beach and a quick ride into the beautiful town of Koroni. I can't wait to go back again next summer.

Secluded comfy and very close to the sea

Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break. House is a minutes walk to the best part of lovely Zaga beach and is well equipped, clean, comfy and very private. Both owner and manager were very helpful and Jina and Nick have great local knowledge. We were there for two weeks without a car and the walk to the nearest food shop took about half an hour along the beach and up a series of quite steep steps (a little more into the town - down the other side) no great hardship, swimming on the way. Swallow-tailed butterflies and lots of other wildlife around.

a piece of paradise

Stayed for 1 week in June. An amazing location, very relaxing with sounds of waves lapping on the beach just beneath you (~2 mins walk). We had a great time, mainly enjoying the sunset on the terrace with a glass of wine and had a couple of BBQs on the beach. Wandered into Koroni old town a couple of times for dinner which was lovely, really quaint with some great restaurants. The cottage itself has everything you need, a well equipped kitchen, good water pressure for the shower, a comfy bed, beautifully laid out lounge which leads to a wrap around balcony looking out down the beach. Wifi is also there throughout. Would easily recommend to anyone. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants

A piece of paradise!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and had an amazing and relaxing stay. The house is well equipped, comfy (with v.good air con) and the location is great with an impressive view over the sea (only a stones throw away). Its clear the owners have put a lot of time and effort into this place because the little touches like stones from the beach are inlayed into the patio and shower as well as beautiful flowers, vines surrounding the balcony, really makes this a special place. The beach is a short 1 minute down the hill and the windsurf/sailing center is close and very friendly. Thankfully the winds were kind to us, so we had a great time learning to windsurf as well! Thank you and we're looking forward to next year!

Relaxing

A incredible stay! Cozy, clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. The views were spectacular and the terrace perfect to sit all day. Easy walk to the beach and the sound of surf is continually soothing. We walked into Koroni to enjoy the shops and Castle, caught a bite to eat and walked back down the beach back to the cabin. Janice is a perfect host that helped with our purchase of olive oil, eating establishments, and driving up the coast. Also the box of local info at the cabin was great with maps, suggestions, and places to visit. A perfect week to relax and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your paradise.

We are both retired and living in Northumberland. We love sailing, swimming and enjoying the outdoors lifestyle that the climate in Greece allows us to do. We travel extensively but Greece is our favourite place and so we decided that it was a place where we would like to make a home. We spend at least 4 months of the year in around the Messinian Gulf staying at the cottage. The cottage is not a standard holiday let as it is set up as our home with lots of extras to add to the comfort for ourselves and our guests.

We have been travelling around Greece since we were students - a long time ago. This cottage was always rented by us when our children were small, it wasn't until 2006 that we were able to persuade the Greek owners to sell it to us. They have become our closest Greek friends and we feel a part of their family. Since then we have been modernising the cottage each year. This area of Greece has a fascinating history which we have enjoyed reading, and learning about. Whether it is Koroni Castle, Methoni or Pylos and Navarino Bay there are so many imprints
from the past. The rich tapestry of Spartan, Byzantine, Frankish, Venetian and Ottoman heritagecan be seen within no more than an hour's drive from the cottage. However the huge attraction to this place for us is the magnificent beach below the cottage and the clear, clean sea. Views towards the Tayetos Mountains are stunning. Life at the cottage gives us access to outdoor living for many months of the year.

The property is located conveniently for the beach we are keen swimmers so it is perfect.

It is just a 45 minute drive from the airport so is very well located, we love living outdoors, whether it is sailing , swimming or walking in the mountains and around the coast. Koroni is a perfect base for all our interests and the beautiful weather extends the months we can enjoy our hobbies to the full. We are renting out the property for 3 months of the year but we live in it ourselves for long periods. As a result it is equipped to a high standard and we have not economized on quality when making it our home in Greece.
