Om boendet

Välkommen till vår traditionella stuga. Nyligen inredda och bekvämt inredda, det ligger precis vid vackra Clifton Green med sin oberoende te & tårtaffär, slaktare, stormarknad och kemist. Bara 5 minuters promenad till floden och 15 minuters promenad från Bootham Bar (stadsporten) med sina kullerstensgator, utbud av historiska pubar och butiker och den berömda York Minster.

Det finns parkering på gatan framför huset. Vi kan ordna parkeringstillstånd på gatan för dig från rådet till £ 5 per dag. Eller så finns det gratis parkering bara två minuters promenad från huset.

Om vårt hus:
- Full av periodfunktioner inklusive original spisar.
- Möblerat extremt bekvämt med goda sängar.
- Separat vardagsrum med två soffor, platt-TV, DVD-spelare, böcker och spel.
- Separat matsal med dedikerat arbets- / skrivbord.
- Vacker innergård som är en solfälla på eftermiddagen och kvällen.
- Fullt utrustat kök med alla redskap, porslin, glas, krukor och kastruller du någonsin behöver (tror vi!) samt vattenkokare, brödrost, mikrovågsugn och andra bekvämligheter.
- Badrums toalettartiklar, handdukar, sänglinne mm allt ingår.
- Gratis obegränsad WIFI i hela huset.

Grannskapet:
- Clifton Green är en mycket vacker parkpark, omgiven av några vackra hus och bekvämligheter - inklusive en stormarknad (öppen 07:00 till 23:00), en oberoende slaktare, en vacker oberoende kaffe- och kakebutik, en apotek från Boots, pubar och så mycket mer !
- Det är ett väldigt lugnt område, men är bara en trevlig 10-15 minuters promenad ner en väg belägen med historiska byggnader innan du är vid stadens murar och grind. Här kan du hitta St Mary's Abbey and Museum Gardens, ett kullerstensområde med historiska pubar och butiker och ytterligare 5 minuters promenad till den berömda (och ganska imponerande) York Minster.
- Alternativt är det mindre än 5 minuters promenad från vårt hem till floden Ouse - du kan gå längs flodstranden till staden (en fantastisk promenad på en vacker dag eller kväll).

Great Stay

The rooms/beds were comfortable, about a 20 min walk into town, york city walls etc, Stuart was really responsive and gave us great tips ideas on things to do etc. We have a wonderful stay

Comfortable House

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this lovely property. Very clean and comfortable. Great location convenient to York City Centre. Our host Stuart was very accommodating and also provided helpful information about the area. Would stay there again on our next visit to York.

House was fine for our stay, nice touch by the owner to leave milk & biscuits on our arrival. 10-15 minute walk to the Bootham end of the city walls. All in all house was a fine base for a weekend in York.

Good location

On line listing was accurate. The house is a 15 minute walk from the centre of York, also easy to get to the station via the footbridge. Handy local shops. House was well equipped.

Great stay

We spent 2 nights in York and were very happy with the accommodation. Communication with Stuart was excellent and we appreciated his recommendations, sent to us just after booking, of places to eat and things to do. Having them in advance allowed us time to plan our stay better. Check in was very easy and we found the house and places to park easily. We walked into York on a couple of occasions and times given by Stuart were accurate. The Spar at the end of the street was very convenient. There was plenty of space for our group of 3 and there were more than enough utensils, crockery etc. A great stay. Thank you Stuart and Faisal

Lovely cosy property close to city centre

We found the property very easily and the off road free parking round the corner, thanks to very good directions. The house was perfect for us. It was very clean and well equipped. The bed was super comfy and nice big TV. It was just a ten minute walk into the City Centre in a straight line - couldn't be easier. Little Spar on the corner for essentials and newspapers in the morning. Nice pub just over the road. After a busy day trekking round York we found the cottage very comfy to come home to. Thank you very much.

Great location

Four adults celebrating 2 big birthdays. Property spotlessly clean, comfortable. Kitchen lacking in a couple of items but we are people that love our cooking and dining. Location is great, lovely walk into the city, lots to see each time, buildings are beautiful. So much to see and do we will return and stay here again. Communication with Stuart was exceptional.So helpful with all the information of places to visit, things to do, where to eat and which way to walk. This was super helpful.

Lovely short stay for a celebration weekend

My sister and I stayed here for a double celebration weekend. The place was spotlessly clean. We did not opt for the parking permit on the same street that Stuart kindly offered to get for us but it was very easy to park nearby and leave the car there during our stay. Excellent location, great welcome pack after a long journey, comfy beds, great shower and bath, and well stocked kitchen. Cooking pans could do with being updated. Neighbours were a bit noisy both evenings but nothing untoward. Excellent communication from Stuart and Faisal. Would recommend for adults but not for those with young children.

Lovely stay in York

We really enjoyed York and Stuart's place was perfect for us. Cozy yet updated. Little extras were appreciated (and eaten/drank!). Enjoyed having the small courtyard out back for coffee each morning. We had a rented car, so had been a bit concerned about finding a spot to park with the parking rules in York. We didn't have any issues, though, parking a block down in some free spaces next to the Old Grey Mare pub on Compton as Stuart had suggested. He also said he would get us a pass if we had needed it, so all bases were covered. It's about a 3/4 mile walk to the gates of town, but very pleasant street to amble to/from town after a day of sightseeing. There is a small breakfast/lunch place, a sweets shop, and the pub at the end of the street if you don't head into town. Only wish we had another day or two to explore the area. York was great. We will be back.

This is a lovely little house…plenty of room for 3 people. The kitchen is well equipped and has clean modern appliances. A little market right around the corner and a walk into old town York along beautiful tree lined streets. We loved it!

A lovely, comfortable house in a quiet road.

We had a great stay in this house. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The wine, milk etc were a lovely addition. We needed to contact the owner with some issues of our own making- (lost key 🙄 Lesson learnt and parking permits for a second car) Stuart was super helpful and understanding. Great communication right from booking.

Two night stay visiting York

Fantastic location and a very clean and well presented property. Stuart the owner was very helpful when we phoned and there was a welcome pack of milk,wine and biscuits on our arrival. Stuart also sorted out some car parking passes which allowed us to leave the car outside the property while we walked the 15mins into York town centre.

Girls get together

Lovely property in a great location, a great distance from the town centre which was a gentle stroll away. Stuart the owner was easily contactable and gave a really comprehensive list of places he recommended…So pleased we ate at La Vecchia Scuola and a lovely treat for when we arrived. Only downside was the noisy neighbours but not much can be done about that!

Fantastic stay

Had a lovely couple of nights away, property was ideally situated for a good walk into York. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows and bedding were lovely. Highly recommend the property, no more expensive than a hotel room but lovely comfortable accommodation, really happy x
