Great getaway!

Four friends spent a cozy winter weekend in this beautiful cottage. The property is beautiful, well-equipped and the communications with the property owner were timely and helpful. A wonderful (and close) cottage getaway from Ottawa.

Great house and property, hot tub unusable though... maybe an off week?

The home is gorgeous as is the property. We enjoyed relaxing there for the weekend overall. Unfortunately we had a few hiccups. The couch upstairs appeared to be broken and there were some cleaning issues - cobwebs visible on an eye level light over the table, dirty cups in the cupboard. We were also very disappointed that the hot tub had a low water level warning and was unusable as we were especially looking forward to it. The owner was quick to respond to messages and said that a cleaner had been there and hot tub checked so I'm not sure what happened between then and us arriving. If the hot tub had been working I'd likely give a 5 star rating as the cleaning issues were minor in the grand scheme of things. Given all the other positive reviews, our experience may have been a one off.

Great stay at beautiful cottage on peaceful lake

We had a great time at this cottage with family and friends. It’s very spacious and nicely decorated. There were lots of fun ‘extras’ for kids like the trampoline, games and water toys. The kitchen was well equipped and we had all we needed. The screened in porch really made this place special and is such a nice feature I always look for. The lake is relatively small and shallow compared to others, which meant it felt warm for early July and we didn’t see any motor boats making it pleasant for swimming. We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe too. Thanks Taha!

Superbe chalet, très bien situé en bordure d’un lac. Les photos décrivent très bien le lieu et le chalet. Celui-ci est propre et très agréable, nous y retournerons sans hésiter. La communication est simple et efficace avec les propriétaires.

Lovely cottage stay

The cottage was lovely. Exactly what we were hoping for. The kids loved the trampoline and easily accessible swimming in the lake. The screened porch was fabulous, especially with those pesky June mosquitoes! Would certainly go back!

10/10 would recommend, super nice and clean cottage, with nice lake view, they even have kayaks you can use to explore the lake including life jackets. Host was easy to communicate with and very accomodating. Thank you, Taha!

Val des Monts lake side vacation home

Enjoyed a weekend in this well appointed and clean home. Very spacious and comfortable. The three year old enjoyed the trampoline and wide selection of games and the adults the canoe, kayak and hot tub. We had a great time

Tranquility at Its Best

The cottage was very well equipped with all the necessary amenities. The outdoor space offered numerous locations to rest and relax. The kayaks, canoe, fire pit, and trampoline were a nice addition. The screened-in room was very well used during the brief rainfalls. The owner was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions along the way. We will definitely be back again!

This property is quite a drive from Ottawa ...But a great escape from the city .

Although it was a bit rainy and cool, we were able to spend some valuable family time together....canoeing, kayaking, trampolining, doing puzzles and playing games. Relations with the owner have been very positive.

Beautiful lake house

We had a wonderful time at Val-des-Monts. The house sits right on a beautiful, quiet lake. We used the kayaks to explore, saw beavers, herons, a lot of turtles and fish. They provided everything we needed and were very communicative. It was one of our best stays during our trip to Canada. We would return any time.

Serene, Peaceful, Perfect.

We rented this property for a family celebration and it could not have been any more perfect. Check-in was easy and contactless, the inside of the house was clean, spacious, and the photos don't do it justice! The screened in porch/gazebo was in use all weekend as it's the perfect way to be outside/listen to the rain, without getting wet and avoiding bugs. We also made use of all the outdoor amenities, of which there was no shortage! Kayaks, firepit, and sunset sits on the dock were all part of our experience. Taha was an excellent host, and was fast to respond to any/all questions leading up to, during, and after our stay. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway with all the frills, including a hot tub, this is IT.

Peace and Quiet

The home we rented was very clean and organized. The surroundings were beautiful and it was easy to find. It was very peaceful and quiet which was what we were looking for. There were yummy chocolates and a note to welcome us. The beds were comfortable and the hosts had left things in the cupboard and fridge in case you had forgotten something. A very nice touch. We enjoyed the fireplace with all of the wood. I would have liked to know to bring some paper to start the fires. We were disappointed the hot tub was not available as we booked it with this in mind. Some ideas for the future: Add some more essentials to the kitchen such as tea towels, salad bowls, a few more wine glasses and a wine bottle opener. I would not have enjoyed sleeping on the bed with the air mattress. A path to the river would have been nice. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Beautiful spot!

Communication with Taha was wonderful and very prompt- even when we encountered trouble with the snow. Overall the house looks exactly as advertised- very warm and cozy, lovely view from the house to the lake, and enough privacy to feel alone in a winter wonderland. We had a lot of fun playing the provided games and snacking on the gifted candies. Our only feedback would be that one of the advertised beds was listed as a queen but was in fact a blow-up mattress on a bedframe which really wouldn't have worked for our group- fortunately, a few in our party couldn't make it so we were able to use the other beds but we would have loved that information in advance.
