Family Stay

It was a great place to stay and I enjoyed the time with my family. I only had one complaint and that was there were no doors on the bedrooms upstairs. All bedrooms should have doors.

Great location

We had a great time using all of the amenities at the house. Lots of outdoor seating, kayaks, fire pit- kids enjoyed fishing too. We brought fishing gear and life jackets for kids which was good. Great location near the institution and other CHQ hot spots. Owner was responsive and helpful!

Beautiful cottage!

The property was beautiful and very warming! The property manager was extremely polite and helpful with any questions or issues. Overall my kids couldnt have had a better time being at the property and loved sitting on the inlet watching the ducks, beavers and geese every evening! Definitely recommend staying here if your traveling near Mayville.

Lovely Waterside house

We came to town in April 2024 to catch the eclipse. Our hosts were very proactive in reaching out ahead of time and helped us find a spot from which to view the eclipse.House is very cozy and decorations are charming.We had a very nice time.

Fantastic Waterside Cottage!!

My recent 4-day stay at this charming Chautauqua Lake retreat exceeded all expectations. The property was immaculate and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect home away from home. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the direct access to the lake—having kayaks at our disposal made for endless fun on the water. The serene setting provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, especially at night when the sky was filled with abundant stars.The location is ideal for anyone looking to explore the area's attractions, but honestly, we were so content with the beauty and tranquility of the lakefront that we spent most of our time right there. The host was exceptionally engaged and helpful, ensuring our stay was smooth and enjoyable.Whether you're seeking adventure on the water or a peaceful escape, this property has it all. I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to create unforgettable memories in a stunning waterside setting!

Nice home

The home was a nice and clean inside. Had everything we needed. Little disappointed we were not told there was not central air conditioning but two window units that were located in 2 bedrooms not in main living area. With the recent high heat it was very warm in the house. We had to buy a fan from the store and put up blankets and towels on the windows. Outside area was nice but wish someone would have cleaned it a little and took down all the cob webs that were everywhere.

Canal front not Lake front

The home was clean and well stocked, though the tap water has a strong sulfur smell so bring some bottled water if that would bother you. There are squirrels making a home in the eaves and will chatter territorially while you sit on the deck, but they're cute.... noisy but cute. We had hoped to be somewhere near the lake, but the close by lake front areas were privately owned so there were no lake views nor lake access for walks along the shore. Kayaks were available but the canal was uninviting and brackish. Overall the house did not disappoint, but the location did.
