El Mariniyine vacation rentals

Three generations of our family stayed at Dar Bennani during the Sacred World Music Festival. The house was perfect for us. We were able to make amazing meals in both of the kitchens, lounge in the living room and spend our evenings on the roof. We arranged for dinner our first night and breakfast our first morning and the food preparation was delicious. The staff was super responsive when we asked for cleaning. And coordinated porters, drivers, and guides as we moved about the medina and greater Morocco. I definitely recommend staying here for an authentic Fes experience.

Really enjoyed the room at the hostel once I was able to find it. It’s in the Medina and not being familiar with the Medina layout, I struggled to find it in The midst of the many streets within. Might be just me. The room and staff at the hostel were amazing and extremely helpful with any needs I had. Also included is a great breakfast

Kenza has an amazing Riad and is a wonderful host. We were impressed with the place . Kenza came in personally to welcome us. Very much appreciated

Olaf was an exceptional host. Insightful, helpful and full of ideas. We enjoyed the wonderful cooking they laid on so much that we ate at the Riad night after night. The terrace is lovely at night and being in the Medina is just lovely - the people are far friendlier than you’re lead to believe. All in all it was a lovely experience. I highly recommend it. The bathrooms are small but they each have showers and toilets and the neighborhood kids can be quite loud at night as they only have these Medina streets to play in, but neither of those bothered us at all. All in all it made Fez a much better experience staying here.

Beautiful riad within steps of the old city. We had the junior suite with two single beds up in a loft - the kids loved sleeping up there. The pool is small but refreshing, again the kids appreciated the opportunity to cool down. The rooftop offers a great view of the city. Recommended.

Fantastic place to stay

Our stay in Fes was brief, too brief, but it was the highlight of our trip across southern Spain to Morocco and then France. The Dar Sghira house proved to be the perfect place for us to unwind from the excitement and fatigue of travel and of exploring the medina. We were very comfortable there. I especially enjoyed the view from the rooftop patio. Our guide Mohamed shepherded us around the city and to several artisanal cooperatives to see artists at work with textiles, leather, fragrances, ceramics, etc. He was an excellent companion and gave us a wealth of information, matching the level of our interest in history. We got a keen sense of the medina as a living community, not just a museum, even though it has such a storied past. We chose to have multiple meals prepared by Fatima to eat in the home, and we took a cooking class with her, which was enjoyable (and rewarding!). She also helped us with the arrangements for the hammam. We were grateful for all she did.
